The experience was oerfect it was my first time however my husband worked in Hong Kong for sixteen years so he New the standards would be perfect and they were it was an absolutely fantastic and I shall be telling all of my friends
Excellent good . The service was impeccable . Everything was of high quality . Would definiteky
Outstanding meal and ambiance. Would highly recommend that every one goes to experience a first class service, friendly, well run and wonderful food.
Very good, going again soon
Been here a couple of times in the past—has always been very good. The oysters were tasty, as were the mussels. Wine recommendation was spot on. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Bar Boulud is a nicely balanced dining option for those who want a classy setting without it being stuffy or pretentious. Prices are reasonable for this type of establishment and the comfortable seating and professional staff makes a great evening. The food is quite good too. Recomended.
It was my sixth time at Bar Boulud, as I had always considered one of my favourite places in London. The cocktails were excellent as usual. However this time the quality of the food was rather disappointing. I probably won't be going back again.
I highly recommend Bar Boulud. Not only is the food great but the service is some of the best in London. Highly recommend
Excellent as usual!
Food was excellent as were the staff.
Snails superb and the steak was fantastic.
They provided a desert with happy birthday written on.
We went to Bar Boulud not one but THREE times during our 12 day stay in London. We loved it, first because though the ambience is relaxed and casual, the food is not. The food is worthier of a much more stuffy kind of restaurant, haute cuisine. THE BEST ONION SOUP I ever ate; a plate of perfect madeleines for dessert; mussels that were all plump and perfectly cooked, without a cracked one in the bunch; and terrific burgers (our favorite was the Frenchy). A young and multilingual wait staff, quite efficient. We loved Bar Bolud and would recommend it to anyone going to London.
Bar Boulud is always reliable and charming in providing excellent quality food, expertly served by well mannered young staff who certainly appear to enjoy doing their jobs. Wine list intelligent and comprehensive.
I’m a regular!
Great service and attentive staff, good menu with lots of options, excellent for business meal, friends meeting, family treat
The food at the Bar Boulud was fantastic. My family and I felt welcomed and were served with such care. We want to say thank you to all the staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious meal with a nice ambience.
Excellent service and food
For all the hype around this restaurant it was just ok for me. The dining room is set up in a way that’s quite awkward and the food just wasn’t up to par. I wouldn’t recommend this place- save your money for a different one.
From the entry to the end, BAR BOULOUD is a good experience. The meals are delicious and the wine list a real trip in France. The staff advises for meals and wine are perfect.
Best burger I have ever had. Delicious!!
Chilled cucumber soup was interesting. Venison sausage was awesome! And the desserts very pretty! Shame weather didn’t hold up for the terrace!
Not much choice on the set menu so we ate form the main menu. Delicious food, great service and ideal for the Royal Albery Hall. Would have liked better background music.
The service is always excellent. We took up the set menu offer and the choices were varied. The dessert option to chose from the a la carte menu is really good as the desserts are delicious.
Bar Boulud is one of my favourites restaurants in London.
Everything was fantastic: i highly recommend their burgundy snails and tartare!
The food and service was good. Everyonr enjoyed their meals and atmosphere.
I invited a guest to dinner at Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental Hotel the other night and it was terrific. We were warmly welcomed and had a great corner table. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the food was delicious.
Love Bar Baloud and service and food are wonderful. You can’t go wrong with the burgers, hangar steak or sea bass. We do feel it’s a bit expensive especially with wine list.
Been coming here for several years and have always ordered their delicious cheeseburger. This time I thought I ought to try something new so I chose the Steak Frites and it was so good! Pays to change things up every once in a while.
The choice on the set menu has changed and on this occasion time the choice of mains was very limited and not
Good value for money. The soufflé dessert, however, was scrumptious.
Excellent food but did not appreciate staff up selling on house champagne
Wonderful attentive staff and delightful food. We’ll done all
The souffle was excellent, but the cold soup (cucumber) and the second course, the sausage, were just ok. I expected more
Really good restaurant for weekday lunch. Excellent lunch menu.
Great as always!
Poor roast potatoes like golf balls under cooked
Poor desserts - macaroons were really horrible.
Won’t be back
Everything was great, service was a bit too keen and hovering. Only issue was I ordered the lobster roll. I assumed ‘as is’, never had a lobster roll as an ‘appetiser’ and they asked ‘as a main?’ . Well, yes - and my main went from £19 to £36 of Lobster roll. I wasn’t about to send it back but just make the customer aware that 1 is an ‘appetiser’ 2 is a ‘main’. Just odd.
The restaurant is fine, the waitress/ waitresses were very attending, BUT we were celebrating my husband’s bday and is truly nothing special, worst part, he ordered the steak fritters and it was so tough he couldn’t even chew it! He let the waitress know and she said “of course I will change it”
She came back 5 minutes later with a message from the chef, he said to let us know their steak is hard, so no guarantee the second one will be any better.
It wasn’t! I tried it myself and it was like chewing on leather!
Desserts and drinks were lovely
Slow service, lack of attention...
but overall pleasant Bistro
This should have been great. It wasn’t even close to being great. The whole day had been planned as we were going to Hyde Park in the evening, so it should have been a very special day, with a decadent lunch. I chose from the a la carte menu. So exciting I thought, love a French onion soup, believe you me it was the best offering on a pretty poor menu. It was diabolical. I ate it because I was hungry. I have eaten better onion soup out of a tin, over sweetened with a really bad ‘crouton’. I say crouton because it really was just the one. I chose Nicoise Salad for my main course, again not ideal, as the choice is limited. Now I have eaten some great Niçoise salads. This was not one of those. No French beans, no anchovies, no black olives, no capers no egg. There were four pieces of tuna loin the size of fifty pence pieces and four pieces of tinned tuna, each the size of a pea. So this Niçoise salad consisted of lettuce tomato and Tuna. It was priced at £21. I asked the waiter if he thought this was acceptable, he was baffled. So I asked him to remove it and bring the menu so I could choose something else. He disappeared and five minutes later I saw him clearing another table, I was still waiting for the menu. So I stood up and walked over to the manager, he wasn’t too interested in my salad story so I simply asked for another menu. I could go on but I think you get the picture. If you’re looking for something special. DO NOT go here.
Fantastic food and service. A great treat, at no point did we feel out of place or rushed. Just perfect
The experience would have been complete if there were more vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Also, you don't really cater for lactose intolerance or coeliacs.
