The menu at Bar Melusine changes every single day to take complete advantage of seasonal ingredients. Meals often include oysters in a cucumber and lemon sauce, Manila clams with purple potatoes, smoked leg of lamb and buckwheat crepes filled with smoked ham and camembert. Don't leave without trying the apple butter cake or the canel de Bordeaux with an ounce of dark rum.
Relaxed. Great waiter.
Waiter had an attitude.
Food was over priced.
Great space excellent flavor profiles on the dishes. Also oysters are awesome
Hands down our favorite spot in Capital Hill for delicious oysters and other fare from the sea along with really nice cocktails (try the Fosco Fizz!) and wine! Manager Ted is amazing as are the rest of the Sea Creatures team!
Sunday brunch- always excellent. Service stellar. Anything Renee Erickson does is gold.
Favorite Seattle spot- caring service, delicious oysters and a nice low key vibe.
Good food, great ambiance, but a bit overpriced at $60+ per person.
We have eaten here before and have had pretty good food. I was looking forward to their hamburger which was on the online menu but they weren't serving. We ordered two salads one excellent and the other a slimy concoction of raw vegetables, nuts and an odd dressing. The squab was ok but the savory pain perdu tasted like previously frozen sausage patties. The pork chop was very good. Service was initially chilly but then warmed up - I guess a very busy night.
All in all, $240 later, I should have cooked a burger at home.
A wonderful experience on Valentine’s Day. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
Special meal from beginning to end and featured some of the best desserts I’ve had in recent memory. Also, those frites. My god. Bartender makes a great old fashioned, too.
Poor quality salmon. Very small portions, slow service and not too many choices for shellfish allergies.
Absolutely delightful! Fabulous oysters and cocktails. Small plate sharing was an absolute blast. Can’t wait to go back!
Always an awesome place. Great service. Amazing food. Great unexpected wines. Best tartare in town.
we love bar melusine! this visit was to celebrate my husbands' birthday. we had oysters, the shaved brussel sprouts, frites, sliders, and the sea of cortez shrimp. everything was impecable! he had a delicious glass of white as recommended by our kind server and i had a fosco fizz, which i would highly recommend. the ambiance is sweet, the staff is kind and attentive (but not overly so) and the food is great! we don't often return to restaurants because in seattle there are lots of good options and new places are always opening, bar melusine (and our favorite taco place) are our only exceptions. and we will without a doubt return to bar melusine.
Oysters, Mussels and Burgers oh my! Everything was delicious. Probably one of the best burgers I had in a very long time.
Delicious food and beverages! Charming atmosphere. Service was prompt but never rushed.
I've been a fan of Bar Melusine for a handful of years now. When I visit Seattle I make it a point to visit with a friend who has never been - all for the quarter pound burger! Over the years, I have noticed that the burger is getting saltier but none the less still very good. Ambience is great, service and hospitality is always amazing and overall a great night out for either a small or large party.
Bar Melusine is a nice restaurant , with great food and the service excellent! we will return!
Wait staff was great same with the food overall great experience
Good flavors but high cost with small servings, including small wine pours.
Thank you for your feedback. I would like to note that our wine pours are the standard size, 5oz per glass.
Really great oysters, super adorable decor and vibe. Highly recommend!
We had the nicest lunch here with family and friends - the food and drinks and atmosphere were excellent, but what really sets this place apart are the people who work there. Our servers went above and beyond and were SO NICE. The one other time I've been here for drinks, I had a similar experience - the staff is so great and really makes coming here a great experience.
Great Cap Hill dining spot with interesting menu and outstanding friendly service. Many fresh oyster choices and nice selection of small plate offerings.
The oysters were great, fresh and great presentation. The beet salad was also quite good. The frites and crepe were a tasteless disappointment. I won’t go back, I felt it was overpriced and not worth the money or the aggravation of trying to find parking.
We had reservations for an early dinner so we could catch a movie, the staff seemed annoyed that we were there so close to the time of opening. We asked the waiter a couple of questions about the decor as that was a major draw to the restaurant and his responses were “I don’t know”
This is an expensive restaurant with a 20% tip included in the bill. I guess that answers the question “what is the incentive to provide good service if the tip is included?” Response “ none”
Will not go back
Lovely evening and the premium price is justified by the quality of the ingredients and the august service.
If was real good. You should go to there
The food is ALWAYS GOOD at Bar Melusine but it was especially a treat to be having dinner with 3 different tastes of Pierre Gerbais Champagne AND meet the producer AND buy a bottle at retail prices is I chose! Thanks again!
Everything is amazing and unique on the menu. The hamburger is the best I've ever had as far as flavor and what happens in your mouth: Love!
Epic fail on service
30+ mins late on holding reservation
A group of four went before the theatre and tried several items - shared everything. Very small portions so not that easy to share. Liked the house made chilli sauce. Creative recipes for some items such as the carrots and the radiccio salad. Good but not great food. A pleasant environment with good service.
Great food, service, cool ambiance, in a great location in Capitol Hill.
Excellent food - very well paced and outstanding service.
cramped, small tables. Waiter didn't seem to care. very noisy. food was good but overpriced, even for seattle
Amazing meal and wine. Get the melon and roasted fennel salad. It's divine! So are the fries.
WoW. Fantastic experience from start to finish! Outstanding French inspired tapas menu with wonderful dishes and wines, great ambiance and outstanding service. Couple highlights were seasonal tomato salad with nectarines in a fromage blanc sauce; Dijon sauce steamed local clams and smoked lamb!!! Delicate Peach tartelette finished off the feast. A++. Great for dates or just a nice meal and glass of wine at the bar.
Horrible service. Food took 90 mins to come out and server was rude and when we asked to see a manager and they said she’d be right over she never came.
Forgot “seafood “ as a Seattle genre (of the past). This is Seattle locals’ local Locavore neighborhood destination/ destination neighborhood haunt to relish delectable shared plates of....yes, the very best damn fresh shellfish prepared simply and tastily and exquisitely. I should know. I live several blocks away. I’m a locavore growing my own produce. Renee E. is the “it” girl of our town. It doesn’t get better.
Wonderful service and a fun variety of food!
Our server was unfriendly and cold. You could tell she didn’t like her job and it , sadly, negatively affected our dining experience
