Bar Verde – Nordstrom at the Grove
Bar Verde is located on the 2nd floor overlooking the illustrious Grove at the historic Farmers Market in the heart of West Hollywood, California.
Sunset Hour is the time to be at Nordstrom’s Bar Verde. Held Monday through Friday from 4pm to 6:30pm, it’s the time to enjoy specialty appetizers priced at $5 along with $4 beers & $5 wines. Must-have small bites include Pimiento Cheese Dip served with Tuscan grilled bread and Tomato Braised Meatballs with chili infused tomato sauce.
Our flatbread, brisket sandwich and fish tacos were all delicious , and well priced.
We love the balcony. The waitress guy was nice and friendly. The chairs make so much noise when people moving them. Food is very average. Fresh but no taste. Very plain. The fabric napkins are bad! I put it on my lap and my black pants was all dirty with a white dust from the napkins. Thank goodness the front lady had brush to clean it. I won’t recommend this place for my friends. Nothing much wrong. But for this price and atmosphere people can find better deal.
I go here often. It's a favorite go to for us. We have stopped eating on the patio however. The chairs scrape across the floor on the patio and make loud horrible sounds. It's too bad because it's nice to eat out there.
We were greeted by the hostess Ryan who had read our reservation notes and was very kind, professional, and positive. She made our experience!
Always love Bar Verde 💯
Love Bar Verde. In this order good food sweet staff nice decor easy parking super price. Shrimp salad is the BEST. Fresh iced tea.
Nothing was terrible, but we ordered a rare steak and it definitely came medium well to well done. The rest of the food was somewhat bland and pretty overpriced for what we got. I think each entree had one item that was actually good, but neither were the main dish.
Service was OK but he seemed disinterested. They also brought one item out about 5 minutes before the other, and this was at 5 PM on a weekday with almost no one in the restaurant.
Food is excellent. The $29 Dine LA Special was great! Service is also excellent, definitely will be back.
It's a fun location overlooking the green at The Grove. Endless people watching opportunities. Wait staff is always delightful. Calamari with hot peppers and sweet chili sauce -- so tasty!! The chicken tacos are delicious too. A stop here for lunch, followed by a movie a few steps away, and you're good.
the dinela menu was amazing and a great deal. I loved the burrata app!
Funny that in DineLA the best menu I perused was at a Nordstrom restaurant. Food was great. Service was outstanding. Every person I dealt with at the restaurant was awesome. Will go again.
Great vibe at venue, superb service! The food isn't nearly as good as it looks but vibe + decent cost makes up for it. The appetizers and deserts are amazing. Main dish not so much (a bit too bland for my liking, I enjoy savory/powerful flavors).
Bar Verde at The Grove has a good thing going. Great bar. Solid menu. Great atmosphere. And when you have the right server, it's one of our favorite places to go. Over the years, with changes in management & staff, there have been days that weren't amazing, but overall, you can count on consistency at this location. Zach is an excellent server - efficient, friendly, attentive & knowledgable.
Gary is the nicest waiter ever. A+ service!
My friend and I each had a salad. They were adequate, without much character and not exactly crisp. We sat on the terrace and that was very nice.
Would absolutely recommend! Excellent service, tasty food, and great location.
Bar Verde is my favorite restaurant at The Grove. The food is always great, the service is, too. And it's got a great outdoor seating area with a bird's eye view of The Grove. I love it!
We were traveling with a two-year old granddaughter. We knew this place would be perfect. We made a reservation and was seated as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere was very nice and they seated us in the back with other families with children. The food here is very good quality and our two-year old loved the mac and cheese that was on the kid's menu. we adults shared a pizza, salad and each of us their famous tomato basil soup. Our server was wonderful. Very cordial and was on top of all of our orders. We will definitely come back.
it a lovely idea.. view of grove is great..
the food is good... altho a limited menu.
the service was fair.. very nice folks but too few to run the place and once the check came they disappeared. The big problem is the scraping of the chairs... when servers or customers move them , its deafening. They need to solve this problem which is a major turnoff to the dining experience.
Always love the ambience and views of the Grove
Great atmosphere and good quality food. The price is a little pricey for the amount of food, but overall great time spent on Mother’s Day.
Service friendly again. Excellent bartending, bully martini. A bit sad we were told that reserving by Open table means we can't choose where we sit. Also, we told them it was a birthday and they did nothing about it. All else was great.
Very good food good service fair food with good test it worth the charge
More ch-ch-ch-changes! Okay. Another new dish: Short Rib Grilled Cheese With Blackberry Jam was a hit with my carnivore friend. My cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad was beautifully composed, and the greens and vinaigrette were delicious, but the shrimp were overcooked. When I pointed it out, though, it was redone without hesitation. The Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake (that used to be our "crack") has been replaced with a Bourbon Caramel Cheesecake -- almost as good :-) Service is always very good also. We remain fans.
I'm almost afraid to write a review because it is such a lovely spot, I don't want it to get overrun. You're just an elevator ride above the Grove, but you feel transported. The views are lovely and the atmosphere is sophisticated and serene.
It's a very relaxed setting that is just perfect for a comfortable dinner with friends, or a romantic place for two.
Our waiter was fantastic. The food and service were excellent.
I can't think of a single thing that could have been better.
Restaurant refer refuses to honor Open Table Reservations. They do this to accommodate walk-ins. I was specifically told by Closest they will not honor Open Table Reservations.
Fun spot to overlook the grove and have some yummy food.
Experience was fine but I get an email from open table saying that Bar Verde said I was a no show. Frustrating that I have to prove that I was there. To make it easier I just won’t use Open Table or go to Bar Verde. Waste of time.
Hidden gem in The Grove! Great service, food and views!
My favorite everyday or wind down from a tough week place. Food is great, service outstanding, good value for money
Good value pretty cafe good service and food
I would recommend and return
Oh change can be so stressful, and they keep doing that to us with their menu after the addiction sets in. We do get over it, though. My lunch partner and I were delighted with the new dishes we tried this time: My carnivore friend raved about his Braised Beef Bourgignon; and I loved the Shrimp Chitarra! Then we both died over the must-have Caramel & Sea Salt Cheesecake that was, thankfully, still on the menu!!
One of the best spots in central L A. Nice and quiet with a fun view of the Grove; excellent food, great desserts, attentive servers who let you talk as long as you want without making a fuss.
The staff was on their game, but they couldn't help it that families with really loud and unhappy children were everywhere. That was the only disappointing part of our experience. The hostess was great our server was great and the food was very good. I definitely recommend the beef bourguignon, I literally kept making Mmmm noises while eating it. The burger was ok but the aioli was a great accompaniment. The chocolate cake was good, but the bread pudding was really good.
Food and server were good, is usually!
Stay away. It's not good, you won't like it. Leave more space for me cause I like it. :)
I like this Bar Verde compared to the one at the Americana and the Westfield Century City. And our server Robyn was awesome!
They don’t let service dogs on patio anymore. Restaurant ambience is bad without the patio.
Our service was terrible and the food was ok. We waited about close to an hour after ordering to receive our food and our waiter could care less. He was inattentive and unapologetic. His excuse was "It takes long to make the burgers." Really? When you order before several new guests get seated and receive your food after they do. Hmm. Will not be returning.
