Was really looking forward to this for months but was left disappointed by the food. Crab dish looked fabulous but that's about as far as it went. Dry and tasteless starter. Asked for a very well done burger which came out pink! Now even I can cremate a burger. Husbands dishes on the other hand were ok. Lovely ribs and nice steak if a little chewy. View was outstanding. Service was great. Would go elsewhere if it's the view you want.
It was phenomenal! Loved it!
Distinctly average - service was lacking attentiveness. Drinks missing, slow service, sides missing. The restaurant seems to have gone downhill since my last time there and I’d say there are better places to host clients nearby. Won’t be going back until I’ve ears they’re back on their game.
The perfect Sunday afternoon
Appetiser and entres were excellent and well prepared, and staff were very attentive without hovering. Ordered the cheesecake for dessert and was expecting cheesecake. Misnamed: it was mousse with a biscuit. The flavours were good but I don't like mousse and would not have ordered that dessert.
One of my favourite places for dining. Delicious Chateaubriand, nice although expensive wine collection, excellent service and, .... of course... outstanding cathedral view!
Awful. Awful. Awful. Lady at the front desk didn’t even look me in the eye or smile. Went upstairs, had a quick cocktail and got sent to our table. Which was RIGHT at the back of the restaurant. So far away from anything that resembled atmosphere. Waiter David was polite enough. Starters of ribs arrived, they were fridge stone cold, got sent back. Steak was OK. One cocktail, Two courses, wine and water was £120 EACH! No mention or apology or reduction in price for disgusting starter. £54 tip for 4 people eating. Terrible service. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
We asked for quick service because we were in a rush and the staff was excellent at accommodating this request without compromising on the quality of the food.

We are mostly disappointed because this location was our favourite spot when we visited back in Nov 2016. Based on the exprience this evening, absolutely every aspect of our exprience - except for the view - had gone backwards.
To start, in our booking we had mentioned we are celebrating our anniversary at this restaurant this evening. The front door hostess checked our booking but completely overlooked this piece of information and the same goes for the service staff - same treatment as if we were walk-in traffic. There was no time taken by the service staff to explain any aspect of the menu or house specialities. Selection of wine by the glass was very ordinary - a 2017 rose, a cheap Zin more suitable to be served as table wine - but with extraordinary prices. I asked for a Flank or Skirt steak to get a tastier piece of meat and also see how well the chef prepares this meat. Server recommended a flat iron steak and An absolute Failure! I received a piece of meat that was not seared - no scoring on the outside - chewy and rare with silver skin running through the centre. The steak was cut into six pieces of about 2cm thick - still, I needed to cut into much smaller parts to be able to chew through the meat... Bad. Another surprise was that server didn't check with us until we were done eating. Out of courtesy to my wife I didn't make a fuss to send the food back. By the time server checked with us it had been 30min since our food was served. I had two pieces of meat left on my plate I pointed out the problem; he came back 15min later offering me a free dessert without acknowledging anything about what was on my plate.
My daughter had a burger which was average and the fish served to my wife was properly cooked.
I travel for nearly 200 days per year and eat at restaurant more times than I care to admit. The Exprience, this evening at Barbecoa, is worst in quality of food and service than street corner diners.
As usual, everything was fabulous. The only thing that was missing was a birthday acknowledgement as it was booked as a birthday celebration
Despite being specialized in meat, especially steaks, we were highly disappointed with our dishes: the flat iron was so hard and gummy that it was difficult to cut and nearly impossible to chew. My very fatty ribs were difficult to eat due to the aweful bbq sauce they were covered in.
Nice atmosphere though.
Great food from the £30/£35 menu. Prices are expensive, so that menu was great for us and the food was so good! Delicious rump steak indeed. Would pay the normal prices on a special occasion for sure. Service was perfect too!
I hosted a business meeting over lunch. Food and service was very good so I'll be back!

Great food to celebrate. It’s not cheap but good venue and steak is great. Only gripe was that I booked the table for 8:30 and we eventually got onto the table gone 9 and there was no apology for the delay.

My girlfriend and I visited on Valentine's Day 2018. The food was great but the occasion was a little spoiled by the number of tables that had been packed in to capitalise on the occasion. We were seated right on top of the couple next to us with barely enough space for the waitress to squeeze through, and when I asked to be moved to a different table which I had seen in a more spacious part of the restaurant, I was told it wasn't possible despite the fact that the other table remained empty for the duration of our visit which was disappointing.
That said, we loved the food - the chateaubriand was perfect - and would definitely return, just not on Valentine's Day.
outstanding service from Alex; friendly warm but not pushy ort overpowering. caravan wine list allows affordable indulgence in expensive wines, meat was great and the view of St Pauls, don't get stuck at the other end of the restaurant, is magnificent
Had a wonderful 3 course meal - really enjoyed the Seabass ceviche and calamari followed by Fillet Steaks and the apple crumble and pannacota. Everything tasted delicious and the service and atmosphere was perfect!
Three Texans are a tough test for a steak restaurant in London and we all thought the food was spectacular. The quality of the meat was impressive.....I even heard the comment, "the best ribeye I have every eaten." Didn't really matter, however, as sitting right on top of St. Paul's and watching a rare London snowstorm was special enough.
The Sommelier was very knowledgeable and selected the perfect bottle, which was also well priced. Finally, the local craft beer selection (draft and bottle) was excellent....fun for Americans to try some of the great beer coming out of the UK. Still prefer my Fullers ESB out of a hand pump, but good to try new things.
I must stay I was not overly impressed with this restaurant. My family had been a few years back and raved about it but since the arrival the service was not great.
In the booking I had asked for a table near a window but they gave us one in a corridor saying we had to wait 40 minutes for a table one. At the entrance the lady asking the coats was not very kind and took our coats quickly as I believe she was alone.
The steak I got was quite chewy and the spinach salty. However, my parents ate the most expensive steak and it was tender.
The wait staff are professional and courteous, able and friendly. The food is simply fantastic, with beef done as it should be, and sourced from a seemingly magical place that your supermarket does not know of, which is arguably as it should be for a specialist eatery. Simply enjoyable eating that runs as a thread through an enjoyable night out.
very slow service from the bar, to be fair they compensated with a glass of bubbly but waiting 45 mins for a drink isn't acceptable, the food when it did turn up was good quality though
If you don’t have the view it doesn’t worth it.
The occasion for our visit on the 3rd Feb was my husband’s birthday and we’d traveled over from Dublin so that our daughter could join us for lunch. Given that this is a steak restaurant, my rump steak was unbelievably tough. My husband’s steak was ok but not great. The rest of the food was good. The overall quality of this meal should have been superb given the provenance and the cost for the meal and drinks. It was by no means superb and I will not be recommending the restaurant. The service from the staff was very good.
Staff were amazing absolutely 5 star but the food wasn't warm and the calamari was so salty which isn't like calamari. Ribs were cold too, not mych sauce. Just wasn't great.
We had a very good lunch and the service was very good and we were not hurried even though we had finished and had much to discuss.
Our only gripe was the wine which apart from being over priced for what it was - we had ordered a 2015 and when we pointed out it was a 2016, the sommelier didn't appear to think it mattered. For example, on the menu was a 2013 at a much higher price point.
A bit like ordering a 10oz steak and being told you have an 8oz as they've run out of 10, but still charge for a 10! I'd have expected better especially as we were lunching with an ex CMO of a major drinks company.
It didn't spoil our lunch of course.
Another beautiful restaurant next to St Paul’s. The view from the restaurant is outstanding and is such a nice backdrop to enjoy such delicious food.
The staff are professional and very welcoming. The food was brilliant, reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. Can’t wait to go back!!

Service was very good but the wines were disappointing especially for the prices. My husbands fillet was good but nothing special. My chicken was underwhelming in taste and presentation but the salted caramel dessert was quite fabulous.

Very o overpriced for the quality of the food. Steak very expensive and not that good. Deserts saved the meal - really good the snickeresphere, would recomend it.
My favourite resteraunt in london. Great; food ambiance, service and views.
Would have been a much better review but for two issues. Firstly, both the steak and the beef croquettes were clearly overflavoured with liquid smoke. Each had a regrettable acrid aftertaste of burnt plastic that ruined an otherwise perfectly cooked medium sirloin. Secondly, the béarnaise was rock hard, as if it was prepared for service earlier in the day. Given the price point, you’d be better off to stay with Hawksmoor for an expertly prepared steak, but in the event you have a last minute craving and Hawksmoor is booked out, Barbecoa will sometimes just have to do.
