Love this restaurant, however it didn't mention when I booked it that there are considerable renovations at the moment. The menu is extremely limited for drinks and they left the doors open causing it to be 100 degrees inside. Not the best experience and there should be a warning for those booking. I'm usually a big fan of this restaurant and I actually booked it and then felt awful when our group was miserable.
Visited B&B on a Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. The place wasn't crowded and the bar part of the restaurant was undergoing renovation. The server apologized for the apperance of the place and told us the work would be done in two weeks. She then proceeded to tell us it was still happy hour and recommended some small plates to try. She definitely steered us in the right direction. The pork belly sliders were good, thanks to the long cooking time. The tater tots covered in a cheese sauce and jalapenos were also good. The main courses were medicore, though. My husband had the grass-fed burger, which comes with chips as a side. The burger, itself, was fine, but they layered far too much onion jam on top. In fact, there was so much that I thought that the burger was made with two patties. I had to grilled chicken and faro bowl. The chicken was good, but the faro was underseasoned, including salt. The artichoke hearts were good, too, but there were too many cooked cherry tomatoes, which made the dish acidic and not in a good way. Our generous and friendly server was definitely the best part of our experience.
As a whiskey and beer bar. It is really lacking both. Food is OK not worth the price point charged especially with so many other good restaurants nearby that are around the same price point
Really chic atmosphere! Plenty of natural light. Delicious food and excellent service. You can access the restaurant from the mall without having to go outside, which is a plus for rainy days!
Our server was awesome.
The main issue was cleanliness of the restaurant. Our seats had caked food on them. Looked like they wiped the tables and then nothing on the seats. Was pretty gross.
First, I did not appreciate being put at a community table with a reservation. When I make a reservation for a place, I expect my own table. Then, the server was not very polite and seemed annoyed to be serving us. She was also then very rude to the people sitting at the table next to us because they were not ordering entrees. The food was really the only redeeming quality of the experience because it was actually quite good. Not sure if I would return just for the food since everything else was so poor.
They couldn’t give us separate checks. But then the server seemed annoyed when we asked to divide it three ways because it wasn’t an even 3 way split. Said she couldn’t give us separate checks because of the construction that was going on, that there was only three terminals for the whole restaurant. Not our problem. Yet she still had to figure out the amounts for each card. We sat on the patio, all of the drinks (alcoholic or not) were served in small plastic cups. Not the same size as of you were sitting indoors. Yet we still paid the same amount for our drinks. Grilled chicken sandwich had zero flavor. Very disappointing as I’ve been there before and enjoyed it. AND was served my alcoholic beverage in a proper glass while on the patio.
Always a good spot to catch up with friends
Atmosphere was great, but food and service were mediocre. My scallops were horribly overwhelmed by cumin (a spice I love) and the tomato and cucumber salad was fresh, but otherwise uninteresting. Might go back just for drinks, but would be hard pressed to want to try other dishes.
we ordered a bottle of red wine and it was warm. Red wine should be chilled....
Our family loves this place and it's our go to. It is definitely the happy hour crowd during the week so it is loud and crowded but we still love the food and ambience.
Always great food and service!
One of the most disappointing meals I have since moving to the area four years ago. Nice location on the roof of the mall. It was a nice, sunny day and it really lit up the room. Our server was also nice. But wow, the meal was not good. Food was not terribly warm and it was one of the worst Eggs Benedict I've ever had. I made a reservation at noon after being told it was full at 11 a.m. Something wasn't quite right with that because the restaurant was maybe half full when I got there. We were seated in a far corner away from everyone else. Very, very mediocre at best. Even in the mall, there are much better restaurants. It's attached to the Hyatt-Regency and struck me as just another bad hotel restaurant. I came all the way from Silver Spring for it. Doubt I'll make that return trip anytime soon.
Everyone - but Nicole, Luis and Justin - make sure our weekly visits to B&B are flawless every time. Food is awesome (LOVE the cod, deviled eggs and corn/avo side and avo toast!) but everything is delicious. Chefs are enthusiastic about supporting special diets, requests and portions are ample. Highly recommended. Lots of fun and great experience all around!
The food was served cold and the service took a long time
This is a good restaurant for bar food. But I was left wondering why the fries were so ordinary and overwhelmed by seasoning with no particular flavor. Bleh!
However, on a nice evening, sitting out on the plaza at Tyson's makes Barrel and Bushel a good place to dine.
I took my dad here for Father's Day and it was perfect.
The food was disappointing this time. Everything was sub-par. Service, however, was friendly and accommodating and the overall ambiance of the place (Saturday brunch time) was nice.
Lovely atmosphere for a little last minute graduation lunch - excellent hostess staff were very accommodating. Tasty food and hearty portions. Would love to come back and check out the bar area sans kiddos one evening.
This was my second visit to B&B and it simply isn't amazing, despite the high prices. Our server didn't really pay attention to us. If someone asks about brunch, I wouldn't recommend it unless they were already staying in the hotel.
Great food & wonderful staff. Abdul is a catalyst behind the bar. Cheers
A bit loud to have a private conversation and part of the order didn’t arrive. When we asked where it was, the waitress kindly said it hadn’t been made and that she could remove it from our order. We asked to have an order placed again and brought to the table since we went here to grab dinner and didn’t want one person’s order to be missing. Meal was brought out but ended up being incorrect. Not the end of the world, but have a negative impression around missing service recovery.
Decided to try this for a late lunch. While the food was good the service was pretty slow. We sat inside as opposed to outside and it was not overly busy. It took over 15 min to bring our drinks and another 10-15 to take our food order.
Always great food and free parking near the restaurant. We like taking family to lunch here.
We had reservations but wanted to eat outside - the host told us to go to the patio and find the hostess. After waiting and no hostess appeared, we asked a waiter if we could sit down and he said we would have to get our food from the bar. Went I went to the bar, the bartender said that someone should take my order ( although he was willing to do it). We had to convince this gentleman to take our order. He was polite but inattentive and seemed overworked. We had to get up a number of times to ask for things like water or another drink. We may have hit on a bad night but although the food was good, I would not return.
We had the best lunch date - highly recommend the tuna salad for a fresh summer treat!
A surprise. We weren’t expecting much from a restaurant at the mall but to our delight, the menu was interesting and the food was well prepared. Bravo!
I was pleasantly surprised - I had been once before for a lunch and thought it was mediocre. This meal, however, was a wonderful experience. It was fun to try a few appetizers through their Happy Hour menu, available even on a Sunday.
Love the atmosphere, food was good, but service was horrible. Won't be going back.
Fun vibe, great food. A bit loud for intimate conversation, but great for a ladies night or gathering with friends.
Loved our server!!
Great food, great service. Just a little too noisy for catching up with an old friend.
Loved the atmosphere and character of the place. The food was very good but the portions were on the smaller side for their price. I would go back again and with the expectation that I’d order more food :)
It was great! Service was a bit slow.
Food is great! Service is awesome. The crab and cheese soup is delicious. Everything we ordered is really good! From apps to main dishes.
Friday Night full bar scene. Very loud for conservation. Service was really really good. Food was a bit pricey but for no wait it was worth it.
