Glad we booked! Table was ready for us even though we arrived a few minutes early but within 20 minutes they were queuing out of the door, waiting for tables to become available. Never seen scenes like that before in Biggleswade! Very lively night. Could just about hear our own conversations. Food excellent, starters so big that we had no room for desert. Note to self: Next time miss out on the Feta and Olives! - There will be a next time! More

We were very impressed today with The Embankment. It is in a nice location overlooking the riverside and has a good menu, and a solid range of Ales on tap. The food wasn't ever going to win culinary awards, but it was well cooked, hearty and what you expect from a decent Sunday Roast. We asked for more Roast Potato's and Gravy and they kindly obliged. Deserts were the only thing that wasn't up to scratch, somewhat basic really given the price, otherwise, I'd have given them 4 stars also for the food. In fact, the quality of the service was the real standout thing, from at least 3 or 4 members of staff who were all really on the ball, helpful, accommodating and great with our kids. More

We wanted an easy lunch and chose to eat off the “todays specials” menu. We both ordered fish & chips. It was s simple dish done well; a decent size piece of cod with a crispy batter. Service was friendly but as the restaurant emptied the wait staff also disappeared. Getting a bill required going to the bar - not an issue but we definitely felt abandoned. More

Totally enjoyable. We had the 6 course lunch which was ample and delicious. The staff were as expected excellent and attentive but not to much. Excellent couple of hours. More
