Overall is a good dining place, not comparable to fine dining if you expecting quality food and atmosphere.
Belgo Centraal is very busy and loud compared to their other outlet in Soho.
Food was great and service was good but we felt more comfortable at the other Belgo.
Centraal is great if you don't mind busy & loud.
This spot is a gem recommended to us by a friend who used to live in London years ago. It did not disappoint in the slightest. Huge selection of beers and food. And I found my new favorite strawberry beer!!!
Definitely one of the highlights of the trip as far as dining does.
A lovely place to dine in with wonderful atmosphere and exceptional service. Belgo offers a wide variety of dishes, including burgers, meatballs, pasta and many others. However, moules and frittes are the speciality and I strongly recommend the "traditionelle" steamed ones for mussel-lovers and the platter blue cheese ones for those looking to experience new things.
Anniversary dinner with my husband. Great food and choice of Belgian beers
Quite a noisy environment.
Food was good.
First visit to Belgo Centraal and I was hugely disappointed. The service was poor and difficult to get anyone to come to our table to take orders. The food was disappointing and the general feel of the whole establishment was one of no-one really taking pride in the place. It all just felt a bit like a bit grubby and like a fast food outlet but much more expensive.
Nice food, service ok
But careful, closed mussels are not good and I found some..
Really nice good food!
As always this was a 5 star experience can’t fault it.
I've been going to Belgo Centraal for 20+ years but it's really gone downhill. The service was poor - booking details not found, things missed from the order, left with no drinks for long periods of time. The food quality is no where near what it used to be. Loud music was playing which meant it was difficult to speak, toilets were filthy. Need I go on? Needless to say that was my last visit. Gutted :(
Great lunch with good friends, regular here and this place is well recommended!!!
Vol au vent mushrooms were excellent, thanks to Jose and Luisa
Has a wonderful time, but the restaurant was very loud.
Great dining experience all round, they had unfortunately run out of mussels, we had been going on about them to the 2 people in our group that had never been before, so that was slightly disappointing. The food we had was fantastic so it didn’t spoil our evening. The atmosphere as always was fantastic.
Second time in a week love the mussel dishes here altho plenty of other food to choose from..Fruhi steins are a must!!!
Great menu didn't stay long as had a busy day, friendly staff always recommend the mussels here!
This is one of our favorite London restaurants! The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is fun.
Love this place, great Fruhil beer amazing mussels, superb value
Very loud and food average
Have been to other Belgos loads of times and this one is very different!
Full of a lot more (really!) drunk and loud people than the others.
Great service though, and yummy food as always
If you're in school, a student at university, a tourist, or a massive group of 10 plus and are looking for an easy, cheap meal that sounds fancier than it is, then this is for you
The restaurant has new things on the menu and we tried them. The meal which I had was Salad with potatoes lettuce bacon and other things and it was lovely and my husband had the seafood linguine which was also lovely. The waiter who looked after us was a star. We were going to the theatre and he made sure we got out in time. Definitely recommend and we will be back
Had a very good experience. Enjoyed good company, beer food and service . Pretty much perfect!
An interesting concept to experience Belgian beer and cuisine in an industrial type setting. Very popular with a mainly young crowd
Had a great dinner at Belgo Centraal, the food was good and the service excellent. The place has a fun atmosphere and was packed on a Saturday night.
Lunchtime visit quite a few kids in but still really good food
Booked in advance for two for a birthday celebration and we were seated in the most cramped table I have ever experienced in a restaurant anywhere! The back of someone's chair was literally pushed right up against our table as we ate! The experience itself was incredibly rushed. The waiter asked for our order as soon as we sat, we asked for a few minutes to look at the menu and he was back again before I had even a chance to read the menu properly. Our food was delivered to the table 5 minutes after we ordered which was worrying and our plates were taken literally the moment I put my fork down. The food itself was mediocre. The sauce the mussels were served in was incredibly watery and lacked flavour, and the fries were barely warm. A mistake was also made on our order. We didn't want to stay for dessert or order another round of drinks. I have worked in busy high volume restaurants and understand the demands, but I can say firmly that this was a very disappointing experience.
Happy vibe and great beer selection. The mussels were fresh.
The food was very enjoyable, particularly the Beef Carbonade with Stoemp Mash. The service got off to a shaky start but improved substantially. With only 30 or so diners the restaurant was fairly quiet.
I was enjoying the meal so much I didn’t pay attention to my wife .. so I got in trouble 🤣
We have been to Belgo quite a few times and every time has been a success.
Good food, cozy environment and great staff.
This time, my husband had the Belgo Burger, I had the Popei Platter.
Both were delicious. Will definitely go again.
Service was efficient, helpful and friendly. Our waiter Simeone was always on hand but also left us plenty of time to relax; this wasn't the kind of place where they seemed to be trying to hurry you out of the door. The staff were great with my nine-year-old niece too.
Food was delicious - the moules and ribs were exactly what we wanted and the waffle at the end was a completely decadent treat.
Would absolutely go back.
It has been almost 25 years since I visited this place for the first time. Much has changed and not much has changed, but it is still worth a visit.
Having the Belgo cookbook in my cupboard for years I finally had the opportunity to visit. And wasn’t dissappointed.
Great evening meal before a show. Ribs were fantastic and was Belgium waffle.
For a mussel restaurant seemed strange they had no mussels! To be fair they did phone to tell us. But when we arrived they had no chicken either!! Not much else on the menu only burgers!!!
Our table was under a speaker so not ideal - we couldn’t hear each other. Waitress was very nice.
Sadly, there were neither any Mussels or Rotisserie chicken. We were called but only an hour or so before our booking therefore unable to find an alternative for eight of us!
So disappointed as I had recommended this place to my visiting family from Australia. Was extremely embarrassed.
Guess it’s just one of those things.
My wife and I love the mussels. Real Belgian fare served here. Excellent frites as well.
