Lovely food and staff. They made my broccoli with butter , when I said I didn't like it they changed it immediately
Excellent moules frites, great service, but a bit loud and very uncomfortable seats.
We took our work mates to an early dinner at Belgo’s Holborn. The fruit beers were good and so was the Waterzooi! One of my colleagues had Moules with Chorizo and would’ve like a little more chorizo than the one tiny piece she found in it. But it was delicious nevertheless. We shared a dessert of dark chocolate mousse and it was heavenly! Very Belgian :) Service was quick and friendly.
I met with friends and We had a lovely time last week. Good food (yummy butternut risotto), good service and great place to meet. Highly recommend!
The restaurant at Kingsway London by Holborn where I booked a table was out of chicken which we were told by the waitress in an off the shoulder manner. So we ended up walking out and having to find an other restaurant.
Disappointing and poor service.
Mussels are not fresh, even the fries are cold!
Desserts are alright.
I was looking forward to enjoying their rotisserie chicken. My chicken was extremely dry. One of the servers said they put it in the oven after the rotisserie. On the other hand, my build-your-own crepe dessert was delicious.
Brighter than the Covent Garden Belgo, but the beer my husband wanted wasn't available (it was the first listed on the menu, not an obscure one) and the after lunch coffee couldn't happen, because the coffee machine wasn't working. Not great really, is it? The food was fine, although we had to specifically request the express lunch menu (it isn't automatically offered). Wouldn't be in a massive rush back.
Very friendly and efficient service. The standard Belgo menu offers something for all. Huge selection of beers and reasonably priced wine available.
Really nice food and excellent service
Decent food, nice cocktails, pleasant and friendly table service, overall clean and spacious. The ambiental music a bit too "disco" for an eatery, more soothing rhythms would be suitable. Also, some tables’ surface is very worn out and with a shoddy look, in desperate need of repair/ repainting. But, all in all, a good place to have a nice lunch. Prices - relatively reasonable for Central London.
This was my first visit to a 'Belgo restaurant'. Upon arrival, they were unable to find my booking (I showed them the confirmation on my phone), but they found me somewhere to sit. It wasn't very busy, but the service was a bit slow. However, the food was good (I had a vegetarian burger) and I wouldn't rule out a future visit.
Great food and service
Our food didn’t arrive for over an hour after we ordered, but because of this the staff gave us a free portion of fries and didn’t charge us for any of our food. Overall the place had a lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, and lovely food.
Very full, very noisy, but staff coped admirably - food tasty, interesting beers - I would go again
Very nice food. Deserts fantastic as is the beer
We booked this restaurant following a link to the Theatre we were attending that evening.
Add to this we got sucked in to the fact it was supposedly a Belgian Restuarant specialising in moules.
The dishes served up to both of us were totally tasteless and a big disappointment.
We won't be returning.
Good meal very enjoyable and service excellent food as expected no frills but good
Food was great but service was a little slow.
We had some good food and lovely staff. It's a bit noisy.
Mussels madness (£12 for Mussels and a beer) was very good value.
Very good food (we got the moules) for what is a chain restaurant.
Excellent service. Decent burger. Would recommend it.
Food was really not great. Mussels were in a very watery and bland sauce. Not expected. Restaurant was also incredibly loud so not good if you want to have a conversation over dinner but fun as a place to drink on Friday
Food and service fine but few vegetarian options. We have been to Belgo quite often and found this occasion slightly disappointing. Hard to specify why. Our server was very pleasant and the food was good.
We went to Belgo's Holborn for lunch just after Easter which was the reason for some items not being on the menu as deliveries had not arrived. That did mean there were no mussels (!) on the menu and also a shortage of vegetarian options. The latter was handled very well with a substitute offered for the lunchtime menu option that was unavailable being offered at the Express Menu price. That however, was probably the best I could say for our meal as all three of us felt underwhelmed by our dishes which were the meatball burger, rotisserie chicken and veggie burger, all of which were ok, but lacked much notable flavour. We may return if mussels are back on the menu, although none of us have eaten those at Belgo's for years and if they are of a similar calibre as the offerings we tasted, there will be no reason to try this restaurant again given the surfeit of nearby alternatives.
Food was tasty, awesome beers, and staff really attentive and helpful!
Always consistent, great selection of beers and good food. Just what we needed.
It is a lovely place with fantastic choice of beers, good service and funny atmosphere.
It is getting a bit too noisy as anywhere else, so this is a good place to have fun with friends.
Food is nice and service is excellent.
Nice food and good value for money. The service was excellent - busy time, table of 10, a Saturday just before Christmas but staff were friendly and attentive and it made for a very nice family get-together.
If you’re not dining from the set lunch menu it’s not worth the money
Great evening overall - main course was fine but portion was too small had the turkey.
Good value lunch menu, main and a drink
Good ambiance, a little bit cramped but tolerable. Reasonably priced, in particular the Feast or Express lunch if either is on offer at £7.50 and £8.95 respectively. Good quality food. Robust flavours. Friendly and efficient service.
Moules and beer is good but service a bit unattentive
Excellent service & value; good location; simple but tasty food. recommend.
Great value lunch menu for a quick work lunch
I had not been at BELGO for 15 years. I remember the fun of the first experience with the staff dressed as monk, serving fresh mussels almost as good as in Belgium where I come from. Ut was a real restaurant then. No it is a chain with food that no Belgian would want to eat with dishes that come from another planet bur not from across the channel. I am not surprised since it is part of a "group" that also owns "Cafe Rouge" which serves pseudo-french cuisine including frozen heated-up garlic bread that you will never find in French restaurant. Same at Belgo, where the menu includes overcooked mussels with pancetta (???), shrimps with salsa and mango, waffles with tomato sauce. This is a nightmare for people who have tasted quality food. We had some Vietnamese take away after this from across the road just to clean our taste buds. Belgo has lot the plot. The bar seems quite successful with your adults 20-30 something and perhaps they would be better off transform it into a Tapas chain. Please remove the name "Belgo" as this is an insult to Belgian cuisine tradition.
Overall a lovely place. Greta vibe and great food. Staff were incredibly friendly too.
I like Belgo that they introduce new elements to their standard menu every so often and this time they did hot kimchi mussel pot which tasted good. Their drink menu is interesting as always and I gave their banana beer a try, which was ok as the taste was a bit artificial.
I m not satisfied with their table service and I did notice their waiter/waitress spent a significant amount of time by the kitchen table chitchatting in the prime hours, instead of paying attending to their customers. I needed to beckoned at them a few times to get the table cleared up and settle the bill.
