I'd read the reviews for this restaurant, and have passed this gorgeous restaurant on a few occasions so decided to go for my birthday meal.
The food was delicious (although the quail could do with a little more sauce/dressing), the wine and cocktails were fab however the service was what made the experience. The staff were very helpful, welcoming and a happy bunch. Great local restaurant!
Been here several times now and it has always been great. Food is fantastic, service is great - can’t reallt fault it. Nice enough for a special occasion but not too expensive for every day dining.
Great food and we were having a great night until one of our party knocked a bottle out of a very badly located wine rack. We weee not being boisterous in any way. My friend simply leaned back on his chair and dislodged the wine bottle that smashed on the tile floor.
The staff cleared it up and then we were asked to if not pay for it, at least contribute. We were told the bottle was worth £125. We felt this was not our in anyway and refused, paid the bill and left with a sour taste in our mouths.
The irony is we were about to order desserts, coffee and more alcohol which would have added quite a bit to the bill.
A shame our nigt was soured.
Lovely little gem in Wandsworth. Went here on a recommendation and would definitely go back again.
Fantastic food, lovely ambiance, professional attentive staff.
An excellent evening meal at Bellevue. Perfect ambiance and delicious food, with a genuine attention to detail in flavours and presentation. Helpful and friendly service. You will not be disappointed.
Waited 50 mins for starter and another 50 mins for a main meal.local if good approach in entering place waited 10 mins for bottle of water requested, anc lnly11 in restaurant in addition to us 2 diners.what a shame
Classic French food, very high standard, quiet and ambient place. High end food delivered in a relaxed fashion by attentive, friendly but unassuming staff. Been here for years, been great for years.
Second visit to the Bellevue and once again blown away by the delicious food and lovely atmosphere. Our friends were visiting from a jersey and are big foodies so the pressure was on and they were really impressed. Will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends and family
Great atmosphere and ambience for a romantic dinner out. Very well presented food.
Delicious food and a lovely time for our wedding anniversary
Another excellent lunch at Bellevue. We had the chateaubriand. It was perfectly cooked and the sides were excellent accompaniments. The puddings were also great. The cheese trolley is fabulous. The wine list as ever leaves one spoilt for choice. The Bordeaux we had was perfect with the beef.
I love this place. Really great food and service. Perfect for a family lunch
The outside area to this restaurant was divine for a hot summers evening it felt like we were in Paris.
The inside of this restaurant is captivating and I would definitely have an event dinner at this venue.
The service was impeccable and came with mini French lessons.
Food was so amazing I see my pics and description.
I can’t wait to go back.
What an amazing, authentic restaurant. Will be returning soon. Faultless and fine, fine dining at it’s finest!
Lovely meal very nice ambiance .. a little gem .. can recommend
Great environment, delicious food, and the staff are lovely. Highly recommended.
Lovey Fathers day meal, great food and service. Never felt rushed even though we were the last ones there
Shame that we ordered Chateaubriand for 2 medium and it came out still alive and kicking....way too rare. Side dishes were absolutely pitifully small and service was left lacking - had to keep asking for water, cutely (5 min wait after the food actually arrived). This is a nice setting and good looking venue but the thin Wandsworth crowd will simply pop around the corner to other venues and I’d give it about a year from the date of this review that it folds/changed hands.
Started off well - greeted nicely by the manager and given a good table by the window. Ordered wine and then food. Starters arrived - my companion had the scallops which he was very pleased with, I had the snails which were well flavoured if a little gritty. For mains, he had the pork belly which apparently was lovely. I had the chateaubriand for one, requested medium rare. When it arrived it was medium well if I'm being kind, veering more toward well done. I did not send it back as I didn't want the other party to eat alone or sit and wait for my new food, however I did mention it to the manager and showed her the evidence approx halfway through the meal. She said she would mention it to the chef but did not seem overly apologetic about it. Aside from this, generally the restaurant is ok - although a table seated next to us later on in the evening were read the specials from a board even though these were never mentioned to us at all. For nearly £150 for 2 people would probably expect a bit better overall.
Food was delicious and ambiance was great. Believe the place was renovated recently and the new interior is well worth checking out; feels like the inside of a yacht!
A few hiccups with the service (wrong starter, wrong side dish) but food really great. Could maybe do with being a touch hotter but these are small tweaks - 95% of the way to being a truly brilliant french restaurant at fair prices. The 'Cochon' was excellent and the scallops were perfect. Well done Bellevue!
Really enjoyed our meal, great menu the food was fantastic and the cheese trolley was awesome
It was exactly right for our family get together, being somewhere we could properly talk together rather than party.
As always, wonderful service, amazing food - heartily recommends to everyone!
Excellent food and great service - good choices of wine too
Lovely venue for a girls’ night out. Great food and service, friendly and quiet. Only quibble was that we were placed in the window/conservatory on a bitingly cold evening, so had to keep our coats on to avoid shivering. (We did ask if we could sit inside, but I think they were keen to attract other diners by making us visible). Was the only downside of an otherwise enjoyable night.
We had a lovely meal for Mother's Day here. Staff coped well with it being busy and some very interesting and good quality seasonal specials. Friendly, good value gem in the neighbourhood.
Fantastic food and lovely service
Had place to ourselves but that was ok as we could talk
Amazing! Gorgeous food and wonderful, attentive staff xx
Great food and really cute and cosy. Only bad thing was it was quite chilly - I had to wear a scarf but the waiter said that was the max temperature. Wine wasn’t that good but perhaps should have chosen a different one.
Nice food but place a bit chilly ( it was winter !)
Nice authentic French restaurant with friendly staff and a very tasty menu - for a price. Had a lovely evening
First time at Bellevue and really enjoyed the food. Goats cheese, foie gras and tiger prawn starters followed by lotte, bream and steak with a lovely lobster macaroni cheese on the side.
While service was a little slow to start main challenge came as mains were cleared. Unfortunately precarious stacking of bearnaise sauce led to carnage as it got flung across two outfits, one coat, a shoe and even one of their cushions.
While dry cleaning a a drink were offered it felt a little slow off the mark (ie spilt glass of fizz not even replaced to start) and felt reluctantly given.
This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be back. Delicious food, and my mouth still waters when I think about the crepe suzette I had for pudding. Great atmosphere, service, and value for money. Can't wait to go back!!
I hadn’t been to,the Bellevue since it was taken over by Gazette. It was a Sunday evening so it was very quiet and not much atmosphere but our waiter was very attentive and the food and wine were really good. I did find it expensive for what we had - one course each hence the 3 stars for value.
We attended with some friends and I ordered the Saint-Jacques (starter), Lotte (mains) and Gratin Dauphinois. The scallops were juicy and the sauce full of flavour. The poached monkfish was little over cooked but still very tasty. I would recommend ordering a side to go alongside your main dish . Although the food was very nice at Bellevue, my favourite restaurant from the chain is the Gazette in Balham. On the evening we attended, the restaurant was short staffed, so we had to wait a little longer than expected to pay. However all in all I would recommend this restaurant
What an amazing restaurant!
Everything from the presentation of the food, ingredients and taste were fabulous.
The waiters were very attentive without being pompous.
We will definitely returning here.
Thanks Bellevue team.
Amazing food and Xmas atmosphere! The service is great! Perfect for Xmas occasion
This is a local restaurant so we would like to support it. My wife thought the Sea Bass main course was delicious. My Sea Bream was nice. The desserts were likewise delicious but unfortunately the restaurant was a little cold which made it less congenial
Nice decor reminiscent of traditional French bistros. Nicely presented and elegant dishes. Scallops and monkfish were delicious. Not a lot of gluten free options amongst the desserts. Our second visit and we will definitely be back.
