Set in the stunning former ballroom of Holland House, The Belvedere stands amid the beautiful gardens of Holland Park. Decorated in 1920s oriental finery, the Belvedere beautifully echoes its traditional surroundings.

The restaurant has a neighbourhood feel, with a warm and relaxed formal dining experience. Offering an oasis right in the centre of London, it has a charmingly romantic interior separated out into two distinct dining areas.

The first sits up and to the left, an intimate space with low ceilings while the other is indulging with ultra-high ceilings, hanging silver globes and silky walls lined with smoked mirrors. Take a second look and discover the eclectic mix of artwork boasting timeless pieces by the likes of Warhol and Damien Hirst.

Private Dining

The Belvedere excels itself in providing all the essential ingredients for a successful private dinner. Whether you are planning a wedding reception for 100 guests, a dinner party for up to 60 guests or a smaller intimate celebration on the mezzanine, we can provide the perfect surroundings.

It was lunch to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with two friends and everything was perfect - the food and drink and especially the service.

Staff is very unfriendly, not even polite. But the worst thing no one cares to warn the customer that there is just one exit, which is quite difficult to find, out of Holland Park. I was with my parents of the sinor age and I picked up that place because it is just 15 minutes walk from my flat. However, we had to run a big 40 minutes circle aroun the Holland park to find the exit. Is it so difficul to put the sign showing the exit out of the park or just say, where to go. But people at this place just do not care about anything.

The recommendation would be for the set lunch; a good choice, good value, well-cooked and appetising. This is the second time we've been for lunch and the choices have appealed to all three of us. Thank you. The venue is gracious and spacious, with views of flower beds.

Excellent food and cooking on a somewhat limited menu and different from what was posted on line. The scallops and sea bass was superb with wonderful flavours.

Customers in T-shirts and one wearing a baseball cap were permitted to dine despite the apparent dress code.
Disappointingly down-market and pretentious. Very expensive for what it was. It could be so much better with just a little effort.

Excellent place for lunch with the tables not too close and high ceiling so noise level good. Excellent service. Two meals very good but my penne was not hot enough but OK so I did not complain.

I celebrated my birthday at Belvedere in Holland Park one of my favourite restaurants and they were very accommodating of our big group and the fact we brought a birthday cake. We weren’t rushed and there was no need to put down a card or be charged extra for bringing a cake. The lunch menu was great value for 3 courses. I probably wouldn’t choose my starter again - asparagus in hollandaise sauce was underwhelming the overcooked asparagus was drizzled in sauce that was it. My husbands chips didn’t look fresh and tasted liked it was refried lacking the crisp or fluffy potato. Saying that we have had amazing meals at Belvedere too so it’s a mixed bag but I love the ambience and it’s nice to be able to go for a walk in the park after the meal.

The last time I went to Belvedere was a number of years ago. The whole place needs a revamp as it does look worn out. Service was good but not impeccable. Food was tasteless if not bad. My starter [mushroom filo pie] was bland, completely tasteless. I had fish and chips for main course and can freely say that Young's do the dish much better and at a more reasonable price. The tartare sauce lacked any zest and had a brown film; it had evidently been kept in the same serving dish for a long time as it had oxidized. The chips were too moist whilst the cod was dry and almost bitter. The batter was crisp brown as opposed to golden brown. I needed a much sharper tool than a table knife to cut through it. As for the mushed peas... there was no soft substance at all. I could only taste the skins. The passion fruit creme brulee was an injury to an insult. Sour and bitter. I would be interested to know if this food is prepared on the premises and the time of preparation before serving.

The Belvedere is the ideal dining spot when visiting the Holland Park Opera. They do a special opera menu during the period, which starts a little earlier than their usual hours at 5.30pm. The menu was good. Mushroom tart was very light and flavoursome; gazpacho was good and garlicky. Sea bass fillet was soft and moist, with lovely green broccoli; fish and chips was good, though would prefer fatter chips. Cheese dessert was excellent. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful, lovely high ceilings and the tables well spaced out. A very good experience.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with elegant surrounding and decor.
The three course meal was tasty, however we would like to have vegan options available for the future.
Enjoyed the overall experience.

Unfortunately the menu on the website differed from the one we were given.
Then food was o.k., but in this day and age when so many new and old restaurants offer a dining experience The Belvedere is stuck in the past.
On what used to be a busy night we were one of only two tables the whole evening so where we once visited relatively often I doubt we will return.

We had a celebration dinner for my daughters graduation and it was perfect. The staff were lovely, attentive but not intrusive. They were unfazed and accommodating to a last minute extra guest and the food and wine were delicious. We would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant. Thank you for making this special evening so memorable.

We had the 2 course lunch enroute to an exhibition at the Design Museum. The duck rillet starters were delicious and the lamb rump was divine, perfectly cooked, pink and with a lovely selection of perfectly cooked vegetables and potatoes. Great value for money and a little bit of luxury amidst the tube-hopping and general grime of London on a hot day. We will return as soon as we can and will definitely make more time.

The Belvedere is one of the loveliest settings in London being in the middle of Holland Park. But the situation only tells part of the story - the set lunch menu is fantastic value, with excellent choices. The service and food were excellent. We had a wonderful and generous portion of Gazpacho, followed by delicious lamb chops and a gorgeous terrine. Service was also superb. Highly recommended!!

The restaurant was quiet, being a Thursday lunchtime, yet it retained its usual ambience. Food was excellent and the service perfect. One of the great benefits of dining at the Belvedere is there is plenty of room between tables, that allows you to have private conversations whilst enjoying good food.

What an excellent venue for pre opera dining.A simple but good menu to suit all tastes and very good service-for pre opera as an hour or just over works perfectly.Very efficient and nice attentive staff.
It was packed but not too noisy and for £100 for two with three course and wine is extremely good value

Very average. I’d been looking forward to eating here for many years.
The service was just about functional, not a single member of staff smiled the whole time we were there.
The food was almost bland and the decor is tired / dated.
I wouldn’t go again.

Pretty setting, attractive room, but the restaurant was empty except for one other table.
The food was mediocre. The duck confit was grilled much too long (tough and burned), the vegetables were good. The other had as main dish fish and chips (NOT good), extra asparagus (3 small thin pieces!) and lots of half cooked spinach.
We can not recommend the place.

Lovely venue, attentive staff, my main bugbear was that the pianist, though their tunes were appropriate, was just too loud--at least, too loud for diners on the ground floor. We had to lean in and strain to hear each other!

A good place to eat after the opera. The set menu is good value, the food very good, the surroundings are pleasant, the service is efficient (you may have to ask for a thing or two rather being offered, such as water and the noise rather low (I don't know about the piano playing, though, I never thought it a good idea for someone to play music when hardly anyone is listening).

The food is mid to high-end gastro pub. The service is pretty basic - despite the restaurant being empty bar us and one other party, we had to resort to getting up to serve ourselves to our wine. It's really the location that's the winner but - even so, it's starting to show signs of under-investment with paint starting to peel.

Finding this place was slightly challenging, but it was literally a walk in the park, Holland Park that is. The setting was quite nice architecturally and the live piano player added a nice touch. I enjoyed my venison and red cabbage main course and found my chicken liver and fois gras parfait starter with apple chutney and sour dough toast to be totally on the mark.

The restaurant is so beautiful and in such a gorgeous setting. The food was great and the wine we had - Piqpoul - was absolutely delicious. But there's something about the layout of the tables that makes you feel slightly that you're eating in a school canteen!

Availed of the early bird offer between 6 and 7pm on a sunny evening with peacock strolling outside.
The food was very tasty- warm rolls, starters of crispy beef salad followed by confit duck with fondant potato and red cabbage. We shared a lovely cheese plate with generous portion of crackers. Half bottle Bordeaux at £31 was delicious. Attentive and friendly service in a lovely tranquil space. Excellent value if you are happy to dine early.
