Its newest Central London outlet is now open in St. Paul's, at the Grange St. Paul's Hotel. Charismatic Japanese chefs toss fresh vegetables and your choice of meat or seafood onto trademark sizzling grill tables, conjuring up a range of authentic dishes right in front of your eyes. The varied menu includes miso soups, meat, seafood and tempura, as well as Benihana's signature grill dishes. Highly recommended if you are looking for delicious food with a memorable twist.

The service was rude and the bartenders were watching us the whole night. The chef was excellent though. After paying our bill we asked for the service charge to be removed and the waitress appeared to take offence. Very poor ambience
Service good. Food good.
Really enjoyed the food, however was a bit let down about the entertainment as I expected the chef to be more interactive with us. Was a lovely experience overall
This is my second time and generally the food is good as we love tapanyaki style . Service was attentive and the chef was very pleasant and gave a competent display of his skills and cooked very well.
Only complaint the crispy garlic came cold rather than being cooked on the grill and was pricey.
The biggest disappointment was there was no Sushi or Sashimi service being a Sunday evening. This was
Understandable but show be made clear on the website as I made the booking on line.
Despite this we had an enjoyable evening and enjoyed the meal. A little pricey but it’s is London
We went during lunchtime. Wasn’t busy, but I can only imagine what the atmosphere would be like during the evening. It would be amazing. Lovely food, good portions.
Meeting an old friend for dinner
Let me down for my girlfriends surprise birthday said they forgot about it! Then brought the table next to us a birthday dessert was completely let down!!
Great food and great concept it was fairly quiet when i attend which i was surprised by as i had tried to make a slightly later booking but i think they may have only had 2 chefs working. not quite so much flare as the one in mayfair and they had no sushi which was a disappointment.
We love benihana and have been here loads of times. However, we always order the wagyu beef and this time it was not as good as the many times we’ve eaten it. It was more dry and less juicy. So that was disappointing because the wagyu is what we were looking forward to eat.
Was celebrating my 2nd anniversary, I lost my booking, because I was late 20min, when got there the super visor did his best to make sure I celebrate my special day in the restaurant, he offer me a apprentices chef for my partner and me, but the chef didn’t look apprentice at lot, the food was great, the service * wowww, thank you for making my night perfect.
Chicken breast was horrendously dry. Chef seemed very unconfident around us. Service was fair - numerous hand raises were ignored by waiting staff.
Excruciatingly slow service despite empty restaurant and staff standing about doing nothing. Terrible food, flavourless. Everybody very hungry but nobody enjoyed the food. I had a steak and lobster combination for £50 that tasted like something you’d find in a buffet at an all you can eat sort of place. Incredibly expensive. Miserable decor. Half arsed table service. Bored chef. Bad food.
Fantastic service and the chef, Jessica was excellent. My daughter had a fabulous time because of her .
Really nice lunch but we were only one of two tables sitting so it was so so quiet and there was no atmosphere at all. Service was very good.
I celebrated my 35th birthday herr as I was staying at the hotel. It was a quiet night over all, I guess I expected more. It wasn't a bad night, the service was ok but I've had better
The service was good but the waitress/waiter had to get the order in at the same time as other people on the same table so if you are the first one at the table you have to wait for others to arrive so it can be quite of a wait. Food was average and too salty for my liking. Atmosphere and cooking by the chef was great but the air vents are terrible at getting rid of the cooking smoke so by the end of the night you will go home smelling from head to toe. It is a great venue for entertainment to see the chef cook but everything else is average. You pay for performance rather than quality of the food.
I went to Benihana near your Hyde park branch
The food was really nice and and the service was fantastic. Do I decided to come again for my daughter birthday because I had a big group and it was easier to get to. But I was not impressed with the food this time and the service wasn't very welcoming. The food taste really bland.
I don't think I would come back Again.
Great fun evening with friends. Entertaining chef, very pleasant and engaging. Food was superbly cooked in front of us and very tasty. Well worth the money to see chef's knife skills.
Amazing quality food, friendly chefs and staff, just a perfect dinner night!
Terrible food! Do not go! Go to picadilly/Chelsea! Life long benihana fan but so disappointed! 2 tables left because of the terrible service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
There was no atmosphere. The chef did no tricks as advertised. And for an anniversary dinner it was disappointing.
Was entertaining clients from the US which was thoroughly enjoyed by all
Always fun and great food. Only problem was they charged me £33 rather than the advertised £29 for the promotional menu I had booked
First time going to this benihana as I normally got to the one in Piccadilly. The Piccadilly restaurant I would fully recommend, service is great, chefs highly skilled and friendly, and an overall great experience. However this restaurant located at the back of a hotel lobby was the complete opposite. Service was terrible, I had to prompt the waiter several times when to collect used plates and bowls, and refill drinks and ask for cutlery despite the waiter uncomfortably watching our table the entire time (we were the only table in the restaurant). The chef was friendly but struggled with the basics, but this was not a big issue. The music was loud high tempo club music, not quite the ambience I’m used to in this type of restaurant. Waiters would also whisper and talk in a different language whilst looking at our table after every action they had to do I.e serve drinks, collect plates. Overall not a great experience and I won’t be using this particular restaurant again.
A very enjoyable evening with excellent food and great cocktails
Came at the beginning of August and the chef was great! Lots of energy and was enjoyable.
However came at the end of August for a relatives birthday, the chef seemed as if he couldn’t be bothered to be there no effort made. Not really impressed with the service bearing in mind it was a suprise meal.
Only one chef working. Had to wait ages for food and then it was served slowly. We had none of the usual benihana entertainment from the chef.
All round great experience. Thanks to our excellent chef who provided great entertainment.
Second time at Benihanas but first time at the St Paul’s one. Food was amazing and chef as always so entertaining.
However the service really let it down. I asked for cutlery and was left waiting while everyone else was tucking in. Needed more drinks and no waitress could be seen, felt as if they avoided eye contact so not to do any work. The chef for the waitress and she rolled her eyes!
Was nice but very expensive
Wayu beef only from Australia
Chef finished everything too quickly. Fillet beef is not good. Overall experience is not enjoyable.
Was just ok. No real highlights to write about. Not sure that I would visit again.
Drinks took too long
Room was a bit empty for lunch
Chef was great and very entertaining.
Always great food! Will return whenever in London
Took all my line management to restaurant and they all loved it and added to their list of locations to attend with family and friends for the future
Could not fault this restaurant! It was our first time going here and we loved it and our chef Brad was absolutely incredible!
I went to Benihanas with high expectations given the fuss and furore surrounding the ‘experience’. However I was left disappointed by the service (the staff were not very warm or friendly and furthermore they brought the wrong food and forgot items we ordered), the quality of food is good but then the food doesn’t represent any sort of value either given the prices. As far as energy, experience and ambience, the location was half full, too brightly lit and devoid of any sort of atmosphere aside from the group that was scoffing opposite us.
Overall I felt I paid far over the odds for what was otherwise a very average and boring meal and experience. Not what I wanted on a Saturday night, my first night at home in the city for a couple of months.
Noisy & service a bit sloppy....but chef skills impressive!!
The food was very good and our chef was nice and friendly. Otherwise, the service was amongst the worst we have ever experienced. We weren't greeted on arrival. Drinks took ages. The children on our table didn't get their food at all. No desserts were offered and no one spoke to us throughout the meal at all. Dreadful on every level.
