The food was good and the service was excellent but I wasn't wow'd by the experience.
What would normally be a fun experience was spoiled by so many customer service issues.
First, the hostess was extremely unfriendly person, so that set the tone from the beginning. I try not to talk bad about anyone, but this person should not be in the customer service industry.
The restaurant was at 60% capacity for the cooking table and completely empty in the sushi section, yet they made everyone wait for 15-20 minutes to be seated, including those with reservations. Perhaps they were trying to drum up sales at the bar, either way, this plus her poor attitude did not start the evening off on a good note.
Next, the waitress who took the order didn't arrive at the table for at least 10 minutes after being seated. The drinks and arrived much later, and the salad arrived after the meal preparation had already began. I think she forgot the salads and someone said something, otherwise we would not have received them.
During the meal preparation, the cook was nice and did a good job with his show. However,I ordered the filet and was served steak. He mistakenly gave the filet to someone else who just ordered steak and I got downgraded. When I mentioned the error, he promptly took my food away and I had to wait to eat while everyone else had their food. He did go to the kitchen to get a new piece of filet and cooked that for me.
The waitress came to the table very infrequently and was not seen in the restaurant, I think she was hiding in the back. The table without drinks of any kind including water for long periods of time.
This restaurant has many miscues that need to be corrected.
Chef didn’t put on as much of a show as we have seen in the past, but food was still good
I made reservations and still had to wait 15-30 mins to be seated. Then we waited another 30mins to get our food cooked. A few of us wanted white rice and the cook didn’t have it we had to ask for it. I prefer all the other hibachi places I’ve tried before they didn’t charge extra for everything like fried rice and lo mein.
We hadn't been to a Benihana in years. This kid friendly restaurant is a lot of fun, and very entertaining, and we took the grandkids, who loved it. The whole place, however, was full of kids and really loud. The food was quite good, the kids ate everything, and they can be quite picky. You watch the hibachi grill chef prepare everything right in front of you, so be aware that all of your clothing will smell as if you stood there and cooked it yourself!
Food was great. But service was horrible. I asked for drinks to begin with and I only ended up getting half of the drinks ordered. I asked to see the wine menu which wasn’t brought to me until we were half way done with our food along with my kids missing drinks. Only cause my husband called for the server she remembered. In the end, the wine came once my husband was done with his food. On top of that the server forgot to bring the ticket of our food for the chef to know what he’s making, thank god he had memorized it or it would have been an overall 1 star experience.
Fantastic venue, great food and service. Very energetic and loud!
Delicious filets, good food, and fun experience. Happy hour is awesome as well. The yum yum sauce is amazing now too, much better than last time.
Sadly, the food was not good. 3 of us went, 3 of us would not go again. The scallops snd tuna steak were overcooked. We were celebrating my birthday. Wish i had chosen differently.
Great service and Family friendly, I would recommend to all my Friends!
There were two dead flies in my soup. Benihana did not apologize or take anything off the bill. They just gave me another soup. Gross.
Reservation was not honored on time. Waited 30 minutes to be seated. Bar tender was horrible while we waited. Ignored. Unfriendly. Place was generally not clean. Very crowded. Once seated, as usual, the food and service was excellent. Very loud. Fun for party of eight. Pricey. Over $500 for eight people.
This was my first time coming here and I absolutely loved it. I ordered the Benihana punch and the trio. Everything was delicious, except the salad. I would have preferred romaine. The house made sauce (red) was really good. I can’t wait to go back.
Great birthday celebration place. Time to replace carpet.
We visited to celebrate my daughter‘s 11th birthday. Unfortunately, there was a power outage. No one communicated any estimation on when the power would be restored or any of the steps that they were taking to rectify the situation. We got no instructions or information whatsoever. The waitresses and waiters just basically mingled around as if nothing had happened. We never got our food and eventually it became clear that the tables were no longer able to maintain the appropriate level of heat. We left. It was terrible.
Would not recommend this restaurant. I hadn’t been to a Benihana in several years but have always liked the food. This time the food was very disappointing.
Fun to see your meal being prepared in front of you.
The chef was good, but it seemed to take a little longer to prepare the meal than it used to. This place is an experience if you have never been, and the food is pretty tasty.
Been here plenty of times but last night was horrible. Not enough waiters, ours was helping 3 other tables. Once our chef started cooking, didn't see him again until he had the checks. Then the food was very blend, no seasoning. Never had a meal/exp this bad before.
Average food at best, very overpriced considering other options with the same cook in front of you venue. Will be the last time I'll frequent there.
Staff were not friendly, very unorganized front desk/reception area. My water glass had lettuce floating in it and the waitress just took the glass from like I was bothering her when i asked for a new glass. When I ordered a cosmo to drink the cup came half filled and the glass was dirty and had things floating in it. Once again the waitress did not acknowledge the issue just grabbed the glass and brought me a new one ( clean glass, still not filled). Food was not flavorful but was good entertainment. Will not be returning!
The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The chef was really good and put on a great show
Food is great. But, service needs improvement!
There were 7 people waiting to be seated when I arrrived at 5:30 pm. One of them had to go and search for someone to seat us. Even after that, we waited another 5 minutes. This is not the first time that there is no one at the front desk and don’t even think about calling to order takeout- the phone rings and rings .

Food was well prepared and tasty, but there were some shifts from the past. No choice of ice cream and no photograph for this special Birthday celebration. Service was not what we expect.
We always enjoy our dinners at Benihana and tonight was no exception. The food and drinks were provided promptly. The chef did a nice job of entertaining our group as the meal was prepared. The food was very tasty and noted by the empty plates around the table.
Sadly the food is no longer the attraction at this Benihana, with frozen chicken that tastes rubbery to shrimp so flavorless that all you taste is the sauce you dip it in. The YumYum sauce is mostly mayo and has no flavor. In addition, the floors and chairs are so sticky from the grease that your clothes smell when you leave. Don’t look at the black stuff on the ceilings where the vents are blowing air out. Hope they don’t let this time loved restaurant continue to deteriorate as the good memories and nice people that work there could really benefit from a little attention.
Our waitress was terrible sooooooooo slow and would disappear for long periods of time. The cook was also not entertaining. We eat there regularly with our kids and the cook didn’t do ANY of the normal tricks. Disappointing experience this time.
The meal was excellent , but service was horrible. Had a reservation but had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated . Over booked
We were seated nearly an hour after our reservation. The appetizers came after the entrees. We were told that a wine bottle would be comped for our troubles. It appeared on the bill and we paid it because we didn’t want another encounter with management. This is our last time there.
The lady who took our order took very long to bring out drinks and appetizers and the restaurant was not packed. She then took my order incorrectly and had the chef cook me Chicken Fried rice, when I definitely said Shrimp fried rice. I don’t order chicken when I go out to eat. Once I realized what was done and that I also told her I was allergic to vegetables my rice sure enough had vegetables in it as well. By the time they finally got my food right it was delivered to me cold and the rice grains were not fully cooked. My friend said the same happened with her rice. I didn’t eat the food and had it removed from my bill. I would never go back to a Benihana again. I will go to a smaller chained Hibachi restaurant before here.
First of all, there is no parking at this Benihana location. There is street parking or a lot with metered parking for a two hour limit (so don't count on casually hanging out any longer than necessary), or you could take a chance and park in the bank's lot next door and deal with the constant fear of your car possibly getting towed.
If this was my first exposure to Benihana, I would have no desire to ever return. Our chef was not very animated nor particularly entertaining. The delivery of his attempts at jokes (calling soy sauce Coca Cola?) fell flat and he just seemed a bit sullen throughout the meal preparation. I'll give him this - he was very attentive with our specific requests.
So about the food. Well, the salad was fine. The miso soup came out at the same time as the fried rice was ready, but the rice was a tad undercooked. I ordered my usual (Rocky's Choice), but the chicken was a little on the dry side and the steak had some extra gristle on it which is not usually the case. Our chef was also rather stingy with the garlic butter in the items he was cooking. And the light colored "Yum Yum" sauce was completely different. The stuff they had here tasted like a blend of ketchup and mayonnaise.
Everyone at our table had someone there who was there to celebrate our birthdays. What was missing was all of the servers coming around with a scoop of ice cream with a candle on it for the birthday people, and singing a Happy Birthday song in Japanese with a tambourine. Also, no server came around with a camera to take a group picture of our family, which would be placed in a paper Benihana frame with instructions on finding the digital copy of the picture online for downloading - maybe those are just California things?
So this location is fine, I guess. It's just not a good representation of other Benihana locations I've been to. And very little about this experience entices me to ever want to come back.
Dinner before show. Arrived at 6pm, two hours before show. Finished dinner 1/2 hour before 5 minute walk (needed the walk badly). Server was entertaining! Steak and shrimp was great! Hibachi chicken looked tasty!
The seating staff was so disorganized and made us wait forever to get seated. All the while 1/2 the restaurant was empty. We finally had to ask on of the servers to help us get seated. Can't remember his name but he us always the most helpful servers.
The service was outstanding--our waiter asked, before taking our orders, if anyone in our group had food allergies, and my wife does. So her food was prepared first, in front of us, to avoid contact with ingredients from the rest of our dinners. Our chef was entertaining, and we all enjoyed our meal. We celebrated a family birthday, and it was fun for all.
Wonderful meal - but it was load. Found it difficult to speak with other at our table. A very high background noise level. I understand the setting is meant to be vibrant - but the noise level detracted from the experience.
Small portions for the price. Wait staff hard to find. Not a repeat
Excellent as always! Food was prepared in a timely manner in accordance of the crowd of customers.
Benihana is one of my favorite Hibachi Steak houses. The staff here are all very accommodating and nice.
