I was unable to substitute tuna as the only meat in the Sashimi. This was substantiated via false pretenses that were offensive to propound (i.e., material difference in price, and pre-packaging). These reasons were offensive because the menu depicted unit prices; and the sushi bar was readily visible. My wife was not provided tea or ice cream that was clearly supposed to have been included with the deluxe meal.
The restaurant is horrible and will never reacquire my patronage.
Food was ok, prices way too high for what you get. Other similar places are better quality and way better prices.
Sandra did the most amazing job cooking for us and we went to celebrate a birthday with a big group party. Everyone had an amazing time. What a delight! Always a fun time!
Sarah was exceptional host. Veronica is always helpful in getting the order correct and with great professionalism. Mr. Ciro, the Manager, goes the extra mile to make all visits outstanding. Looking forward to next family outing!
Try the new Benihanna Chateaubriand, it is excellent, tender & very tasty. The Hibachi Shrimp is still great.
The sushi was pretty good but that’s about all I can say. The shrimp for hibachi was not properly cleaned or deveined. Waited 25 minutes past our reservation time to even be seated. Really sad because this used to be an amazing spot.
Food was terrible. Linguini is being served as the noodle alternative to rice. If I wanted buttered linguini I would have gone to an Italian restaurant. Hibachi chef was not energetic and the performance was half assed. The table and chairs were dirty and sticky and the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Never coming back.
Karen the chef lacked personality. We came to celebrate my children and I birthdays. No birthday song, no hat for my son. Is this what COVID produces? Each time we visit we spend a nice amount of money. This experience was the worst unfortunately. I travel specifically to this location as the one in Bethesda has poor parking and as I have physical disability Dulles is a better fit. I would really rate everything zero but that’s not completely true. Please do better
Please increase the amount of vegetables. We were left wanting more vegetables. Otherwise, everything else is good.
We had an awesome experience. Service was great and the food EXCELLENT!
I also impressed with their covid 19 protocol, physical distance and the spacing between tables ro make customers feel safe. Overall A+.
Great food and service, wait was not as long as it was expected to be. Waiter and chef we’re both kind and very helpful
It was a great time. The food and the experience were great.
My experience was okay not the greatest. I had reservations at a certain and did not get seated after an hour of waiting. The manager came to apologize for the wait but apparently was apologizing to the wrong table???
Hicimos una reserva para las 7 y 15 pm y nos atendieron casi 1 hora después. No tenían personal suficiente aunque las personas que nos atendieron una vez nos dieron la mesa fueron fenomenales.
Everything was great. The only thing that would have made it better is not waiting for a table. It was a great experience overall.
Our reservation was at 6pm, we were not seated until an hour after that. After being seated, our chef didn't come out to prepare the food until another 30 minutes later. While management was apologetic, it would have been a nice gesture if they would have offered a complimentary appetizer or a small percentage off the bill. That was a little disappointing. As for the food, it was ok.
Dreadful service. Walked out when we couldn’t wait any longer for entrees.
Doing a massive trade on take out and evidently not worrying about dine in customers.
Mother's Day and the staff was exceptional in making a busy day unique. Manager, Marlena took extra care in making sure service was provided with care and accuracy. Veronica added in to help get order and Manager involved. Special gift certificate and incentives was definitely a plus for this visit with a party of 6. Food is always great!
Overall it wasn’t too bad, we had a reservation for 5pm we got to our table about 5:25. The waitress was great. Seems this location may need to be renovated. It has declined in appearance over the years
Restaurant did not honor reservation made on open table and told us we should have called. Staff was unapologetic and did not tell us it would be an over 30 minute wait when we arrived. But only after we had been made to wait fifteen minutes and we asked what the delay was.
Two table left after we sat down due to the long wait time. Short staffed on chefs. LOTS of butter on food. Price increased alot. Not worth it for the service time and food quality.
We had a 3pm reservation and we was on time and was not seated until 4pm.
The food was not all that.
I made reservations for 8:15 and finally was seated over a half hour later. The hostesses were slightly rude with a dash of distain. The waitress was nice but spread thin over multiple tables. Our chef was on point. Best Surf Side I’ve had in a while. Made the wait kind of worth it. He is the only reason I’d recommend going here.
We enjoyed our Benihana experience very much. The food was great, not too salty which I appreciated. Our server was really attentive and made great recommendations, and she didn’t rush us or make us feel her stress (which I’m sure she was considering the dinner rush was starting. Our reservation was for 5:15, and we didn’t get seated until probably about 5:40. I didn’t deduct any starts for this because 1. It was a Saturday night. 2. Mother’s Day weekend. 3. Covid. The restaurant was fully booked the evening we arrived, and I think they managed to make us feel welcome and didn’t rush us out the door.
We celebrated our 37th Wedding Anniversary
We had an excellent meal. The fried rice was good but not as wonderful as it usually is. My steak and lobster were fabulous.
Benihana's is not the entertaining, fun-loving place it used to be. Instead, we got a chef that barely spoke to us while cooking and there wasn't much entertaining pomp and circumstance they're known for. The food is still good but it's way overpriced for what you get.
Super nice time. Excellent food and service.
Karen’s our chef food was amazing. I’ve eaten at many hibachis and never have I ever had food taste as good!! Johana our server gave outstanding customer service without prompts. She even offered to take our family’s photo as a keepsake. I will specifically request for these ladies anytime I make reservations at Dulles.
The food was amazing. Definitely will be back again. No one was there so we were able to stay very socially distant.
First time at Benihana but have been to many other local Japanese steakhouses and while the servers were great, we found the food to be average comparatively and the prices were SO MUCH HIGHER than competitors. I didn’t even think to check prices before I went because all the others had been comparable, but this was much more AND to add insult to injury, they charged $5pp to “upgrade” to fried rice (who goes there and doesn’t want fried rice??). I definitely won’t be back there, but will go to the many others in the area.
My favorite restaurant! Super delicious food, huge food portions, wonderful friendly staff, and great festive atmosphere! We go here at least once a week!
My wife did not like the presentation of the tuna rolls and she said the sushi rice seemed a little old. Also, they did not give here soy sauce with the sushi rolls. Other than that it was great.
The food was great but the person at the front counter was ridiculously rude. I was shocked. I probably will not return due to the staff up front. Our waitress was nice. Food was good and drinks were great. But overall they should probably retrain the the two ladies upfront to be a little bit more nicer to the guests.
It was excellent as always. Service was great! Will go back.
Love Benihana any day of the week, any occasion! The service is always superb. Manager, Mr. Ciro always greets me and remembers me personally. Takes care of my family each and every time. The present of the food is incredible--and each event is awesome.
Rufino our chef was the best ever. He entertained our kids, made them laugh and they loved the food even more. He is very talented, the way he prepared our meals and answered all our questions was very professional and inviting, he made our lunch time so worth it.
I loved our cook! She was very nice and let us keep our conversation going.
The price was high but the quality and quantity of food was horrible. I can go to Sakura Japanese steakhouse and pay for the same price and get superb quality and quantity of food. The customer service was slow. I had reservation at 7:30, didnt get seated until 8:00 pm, waitress didnt come to our table until 8:15 pm, we didnt really eat until 8:30 or so. I would not recommend this place.
