We sat at the table at 9pm and the chef came to the cook at 10:10. He told us that the teppanyaki fried rice will be cook in the kitchen as the are closing the restaurant at 11pm. The food for 6 people at the table was all cooked in 20 mins. We cannot see any teppanyaki skills in the cooking but rather like simple frying on a big pan. The quality of the wagyu beef is really bad. We and the two ladies sitting at the same table ordered lobster, as the time is running late, they said they will cancel the lobster. However, the chef insisted to cook the lobster for them. We thought that the chef might miss our order and we spoke to the waiter about our lobster. The answer we got is that the last lobsters were already served to the ladies and they can’t get from the kitchen again as the kitchen was already closed. We got discount in the end for our dinner but still we won’t visit the restaurant again. The quality of food is under standard and if anyone still want to try, go for an earlier time slot.

The chef was entertaining and funny . The staff were all nice and cordial. Really nice sushi!

We went here for my husbands birthday and had a really lovely time the waiting stuff where very very attentive our glass was never empty. The chief was brilliant was very good and entertaining couldn't have asked for a better night

The chef is amazing, creates an amazing experience for everyone. Beautiful fresh food. Only downfall is sharing the table with other people if there’s only 2 of you, but it is understandable as the chef cooks at your table

The food was amazing but even better than the food was our chef. He was great and entertaining - he really looked after us and made us laugh! Great experience for my boyfriend's birthday. I brought a cake, which the staff kept at the back, after dinner the team brought the cake and sang happy birthday - it was lovely! Definitely would recommend for any special occasion.

Really enjoyed lunch with my husband; the service was very good and our chef was entertaining but professional at all times. The food was lovely, the steak and prawns were well cooked and the vegetable delight comes with tofu and steamed rice, which I didn't expect! But very tasty! Would definitely go there again! :)

Visited for our Wedding Anniversary and 1st time with our 2 year old daughter. We have been to Benihanna many times both in London and U.S and always enjoyed the experience. Staff were great and also great with our Daughter. Food never disappoints. One small observation, decoration and furniture etc is starting to look tired. Would benefit from a spruce up. Thank you!

Excellent option to give children a night to remember, the chef’s are wonderful entertainers and the food is enjoyed by children and adults alike.

As someone from the USA, and ate frequently at Benihana there. I found that the food is very pricey especially that food is cheaper in the UK than the USA in general.
Benihana is not an upscale dinning experience in the USA it is a normal weekend dinning experience. Unfortunately it’s portrayed like that in the UK.
The Benihana signature hibachi usually with garlic and chicken is usually a part of the meal. But they serve steamed rice instead of fried rice and we had to pay for fried rice at full price not even as an upgrade. The soda is overpriced for a non refill.
The chef was great and our server was very hospitable. But I expected more from a franchise like Benihana.

Basic food which was slightly bland. But nice family atmosphere. High price for the food provided. Chef on table was nice and friendly. Mixed views. Glad I went but will not rush back.

I have never been before so didn't know what to expect but I can't fault it. The chef was brilliant (Luke) - very funny and entertaining whilst also allowing us to chat and enjoy our meal. The food was delicious and it was really fun watching it be cooked in front of you. Will definitely go back.

We went for my daughter's 18th and had a wonderful time. Staff were friendly, welcoming and she felt special. We loved the food and the experience!

Considering the restaurant had only been open 2 days since the new tier 2 rules came in to place, we had a really enjoyable experience at Benihana. I got the impression from some other tables that actually, positive engagement with your chef and clapping each time some piece of magic happened on the hot plate should be encouraged. Unfortunately I didn't realise that until half way through the "show". Chef Marlon was amazing. In fact, looking round at the other tables, I think we got lucky! Food comes at you a bit quick, but you don't need to rush to finish. And it was all delicious. I did have the tasting menu. £75 is a little pricey but then you're in Piccadilly. With your (almost) personal chef. My wife had a Salmon dish that was delicious and more reasonably priced so, if only one of your party have the tasting menu and the rest have more modest dishes you still get to see the flair. Would thoroughly recommend. Our only issue... could have done with faster service on drinks.

Chef David just Cooked to perfection. Food was the best

The food was great and they were able to cater for a gluten free diner including a gluten free cheesecake which was really tasty. Our chef Pedro was friendly and funny. Drink service was a little slow at times. Would recommend to friends.

I booked a table for my partner’s birthday, I wrote the request when I booked the table and few hours before going I called the restaurant and the confirmed , nothing happened after the dinner. Very disappointed because i was counting on that,just ruined the night.

Overpriced hyped food with a bit of theatre. Lacked atmosphere. Drinks overpriced.

benihannas Piccadilly has always been our favourite, all staff are very welcoming and attentive from start to finish. Food is amazing!
