Food was excellent but we were reminded again why we don’t go often. Has a 6:45 reservation. Was seated at 7:45. Every group waiting for seating was angry and yelling at manager who could care less if anyone left. Don’t waste your time making a reservation, They won’t honor it and you’ll only start your meal annoyed.
Chefs are fantastic, food is incredible and the servers are friendly and quick.
The host was rude. It didnt feel friendly or exciting to be there. Felt very regular being we went because of the name. I have been to other Hibachi restaurants and not popular in name and felt more comfortable. My chef was the best he was perfect and beyond expectations. He was one of the twins. He is very good
I’ve been going to Benihana’s for over 15 years and this dining experience stood out. From the service at the hostess stand, our amazing waitress, experienced and kind chef Zach, and even the busboy was exceptional. The soup was one of the best I’ve ever had and the salad was fresh and cold with the perfect amount of dressing. I hear the staff is pretty new and that was surprising to hear as it was running as a well oiled machine. The ladies did the happy birthday song all night and each performance was energetic and joyful. Everyone left such an impression on me that I knew I would come back to leave this review. Please keep up this stellar service.
We had a 7:45 reservation, arrived 15 minutes early, waited almost 40 minutes for our table, then another 40-45 minutes for our chef, and didn't have food on our plates until almost 9:30. Zach, our chef, saved the day with a good show and great personality, but overally, the experience was pretty awful. The restaurant was dirty, staff seemed overwhelmed, they were out of a lot of things, and one of our steaks was a grisly mess. We've been many times and will go again, but for the special even we were celebrating, it was more than a hot mess.
My first time at Benihanna was In Orlando and loved it. I took my fiancé out for her birthday and Benihanna didn’t disappoint. We both loved the food, and our chef was amazing!
I had been sitting there for 25 minutes before I finally asked could someone help me, and they charged me $52.00 in surcharge fees(whatever that is) and my bill was only $330. I love Benihana but I won’t be returning.

Our server was wonderful . I think her name was Desiree.
The food was great. Our chef Wales was very entertaining and polite.
Good food and service, however long wait time to be seated for a reservation that was already in place. Wait time of 30 mins after scheduled reservation.
birthday and it was a great first time for some and experience
Chris made this such a great experience. Would go there again
Horrible service. Disgusting bathroom.
The wait was extremely long 2 hour wait before a chief came out
Avoid this Benihana if you can! Our reservation was at 6:45pm and we did begin eating until 8:45!!!! While we had reservations AND was seated before another table, they received their chef first. When we asked the manager about it he “claimed” it was due to how the servers enter the meal tickets. I believe this to be untrue because our server literally took our order as soon as he came to our table. The manager (who was horrible) said that the restaurant was short staffed yet their website still allowed patrons to book reservations. Don’t get me started on the women’s bathroom, it was disgusting. Even the main dining area had food everywhere. It was my birthday and I indicated that on the reservation and told the chef but did anyone sing Happy Birthday to me? Nope! The manager was literally going from table to table apologizing guests. We did receive free appetizers/drinks but that did not make up for our horrible experience. We will NEVER come here again and this location tarnishes the Benihana’s brand.
We waited over 30 minutes for our 5:45 reservation, after being told it would be a 10-15 minutes wait. We then waited another 45 minutes once seated before we began to be served food. The restaurant was clearly overbooked and/or understaffed. We have been to this location many times, and this was by far the worst experience.
My favorite Benihana location! The table service and quality of food are excellent. Consistency when dining out is everything for me.
It's really sad to see what continues to be the downfall of a great brand. It was not super busy and we still did not get seated on time. It took almost 15 min to get our water and drink orders in and then our food started getting prepared before we got our appetizers. The staff seemed to be working hard but unfortunately the place is totally disorganized. The chef was good but the food quality has gone down as well.
We had reservations for 515, and we werent seated until 5:50. The dining room had only a couple of occupied tables so I am not sure what we were waiting for. The restaurant was very dirty. There was food all over the carpet at the table we were brought to. It looked like no effort was made to clean the floor at all. The table was sticky.
I thinkthe soup recipe changed. It was very peppery and my kids, who LOVE the soup, couldn’t tolerate the spice. Our “shrimp appetizer” was served on our dishes after the rest of the food. I think the chef forgot about them on the grille because they were burnt. As usual they brought the check without asking if we wanted the ice cream.
We love taking the kids to benihana for a fun treat but this last trip fellS SERIOUSLY short
Fantastic experience! Highly recommend!
The woman that was at the desk in the front she had braids and is African American was very rude and had a attitude the service was very slow it took two hours after we was seated for our food to come I understand low staffing but at least appreciate that u came to spend my money! I spent a total of 500$ in this establishment and she could of been more genuine. The chef and my server was a Absolutely fantastic.
Always the best habachi 👍🙏
I made a reservation for a family of five for my sons 16th birthday. We arrived 30 minutes early, checked in and sat and waited. At 7pm we were informed that they had a party of 35 people and only for chefs. We were told that they would not be able to seat us for about 2 hrs even though we had a 7pm reservation. They ruined my sons birthday and left us scrambling to find another place to eat. They were not nice or remorseful for the situation. They let us sit there for 30 minutes before they had the guts to tell us the problem. Awful!!!
Food was delicious especially the fried rice. Accommodated my friends shellfish allergy. Very nice staff. Our server shekinah was outstanding as well as Chef Chris.
This restaurant is well past its prime. For each of the last four times that we have dined Here over the last couple of years we make a reservation for a particular time and We have to wait at least 45 minutes usually an hour past our reservation time to be seated because they intentionally over book. The grounds look like they haven’t been mowed in two months and the inside of the restaurant is tired looking. When we complain about having to wait for an hour past our reservation time they are not apologetic and just keep telling us the same thing which is that our table should be ready in 10 or 15 minutes. The food is still decent and the hibachi chef’s are capable and entertaining. Food orders get messed up and service was very subpar. Every time we go and spend $300 we promise we’re not going back and then one of our kids makes us. After the woefully unimpressive dinner tonight we are finally done with this restaurant.
Waited too long for food, busy place requires more
It's was a great experience, my only issue was that we were charge for three sides of rice which we had not ordered!
Very slow service.
Chef Eli was amazing. Waited extremely long for our apps. The server was so nice and comped some of our apps as a courtesy. If we hadn’t been starving when we arrived, the wait wouldn’t have bothered us. Very friendly server and quite attentive.
Long wait even with reservations. My reservation was at 3 and they didn’t seat us till 4
It’s such a great pleasure to have food cooked in front of you
Wait time was a little long. But our chef Eli made it worth the wait.
Made a reservation and still waited 15minutes to be seated. Waiter was not attentive and we had to request for our table to be cleared. Our card was swiped for more that what we purchased, and we had to wait for staff to correct. Only thing that made our experience pleasurable was our chef.
Food is great. Chef and service is great. Just be ready to wait a while to be seated even if you arrive early or on time.
Great consistent food and experience.
The place is dirty and I didn’t even sit down and they wanted to know what I wanted 3 people in the restaurant never again poor service I asked a waitress for a drink and I was told to ask my server and there was only 3 of us in the restaurant the place needs to be power washed
We had an 8:30pm reservation. We waited over a hour and a half to be seated. The chef and food were excellent. Please work on scheduling reservation appropriately to avoid customers having to wait extended time when they have a reservation. And train the staff to deal with certain situations instead of them getting frustrated and the manager having to get involved.
Waited almost 45 minutes past our reservation time. Hostess was rude to several parties. “It’s not our fault people call out.” Your right, but it’s your job to ensure that your establishment is staffed. Two parties came in after us, and were seated before us. Once we were seated it took 30 minutes before someone took our order. The party after us in line were seated after waiting nearly an hour and 20 minutes after their reservation, and there were 7 open tables. Social distancing did not seem to be the issue, as all tables in the middle row were filled, but the outside rows, except us and one other party, were empty. Wait staff did not seem at all enthusiastic about their jobs, many taking the walk to and from tables as slow as humanly possible for both my party and others. “Manager” on duty had nothing but excuses and comped out appetizers as if that would make the horrible pre-dinner experience disappear. Our waiter was kind and courteous. Not sure if that was due to manager mentioning that we were attentive or not. The cook was excellent, I am just sorry that he had to work so hard because his management team failed him and left the restaurant short staffed. Most parties were not following the posted (and REQUIRED) dress code, so my 70 year old grandmother had to look at a obese woman with her lady bits hanging out at dinner. NOT OK. Not at all how we wanted to celebrate our 3 birthdays (Me, Mother, Brother), two graduations (Brother, Sister), anniversary (My wife and I), retirement (grandmother), and engagement (brother and his partner). Flew my family out from California to celebrate and was hoping for much much more. Cannot recommend this location to anyone until they start following the standards that the company sets forth. When you think Benihana’s you think entertainment and 5 star service. Sadly we received entertainment with 1 star service. Very disappointed and regret taking my family there. Waste of time and money.
TLDR:Do not go here.
The receptionist was rude - really rude - to another waiting customer. They had been waiting 45 mins and asked when they’d be seated and she said ‘well, you didn’t have to wait’. Whoa.
We were seated on time. But then waited 30 mins to have our drink order taken. The chef was terrific - Zack. He was great. Dinner was delicious.
The table was sticky - ew. And the place needs an over all updating. When we got there we weren’t even sure it was open - the grass was so overgrown it looked abandoned!
Shorthills location is amazing every time. Great chefs and servers.
