Everything was lovely. Cannot fault this place, food/service has been great each time. Thank you for your service!!
I think a little understaffed for how busy they were on Sunday. Otherwise awesome!
Food was very average, very greasy with half cooked sausage. We sat at back of restaurant which was extremely noisy, think it’s slightly better at front of restaurant, not as noisy as it’s a bit more open space. Thought it was very overpriced for what you got on your plate. Will not be returning.
Great staff, a lovely environment and good food. The staff were so accommodating and made us feel really welcome regardless of each of us having some sort of different dietary requirement for them to handle.
Awesome place with awesome food and service to match. Can't recommend this place highly enough. We'll definitely be back.
Bottomless brunch - absolutely fantastic! Friendly staff... food was great and our glasses were never empty!
Menu choice and quality of food mediocre and pricy
Really great birthday brunch here on a Thursday. Kids portions were huge & adult portions were prob more what you would expect! Really lovely staff who brought high chairs & totally great at finding space for our buggies. Also found a toy car for my son to play with. Attentive enough staff but not in your face. Great experience. Would definitely recommend & return myself.
The jazz night was great. Caught up with friends, enjoyed the food, music and the 2 for 1 gins went down nicely.
I'm slowly becoming a regular here, and can't seem to get enough of the Korean Chicken Burger! Excellent menu and service. The Jazz was a little too loud on Wednesday night but brilliant performance nevertheless and great offers on gin!
I've been here before and have received excellent service, however Sunday, the service was quite slow except for drinks, a customer brought a dog inside which barked and yapped everytime people walked past, the food arrived and was luke warm, needless to say it wasn't enjoyable to have this level of service so we left as soon as we could
Starter was nice but main was disappointing. Staff were lovely but even the chips weren’t good (didn’t think you could really get chips wrong?). The toilets and downstairs area near the kitchen also were not nice - I always use this as a benchmark for hygiene so would not recommend
Great food - steak was excellent. Service a bit slow but it is mentioned in the menu that the food is cooked from scratch.
Gin cocktails also really great.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Food not great and overpriced. Whatever you do, don't order flatbread!
Table was tiny that we go put on, and they were unable to move us. Bought the wrong food out. Squeezed so many tables down the back of the restaurant and took ages to bring us our bill. The Bens Canteen in Earlsfield is SOOO much better we love it there! Was our first time in Clapham junction and we wouldn’t return there.
Bottomless brunch here is perfect, good value and always being topped up! Staff lovely and not too noisy/shrieks which some bottomless brunches can be!
The food was very much OK, not outstanding but decent enough. Service was excellent, mind you, and the fact that they came over with a little cake with a candle for my friend's birthday, was very much appreciated.
Please do not charge me £13.25 for a tasteless burger. Dry ,overcooked, with a portion a bland chips with it. This is a cheeseburger. This is not a hard thing to do. This is one of the most basic things to make. This is the first time in my life I have had to prefer biting a bullet and send something back. I put three stars because the waiter was very good about dealing with the complaint whereas I have heard horror stories of restaurants interrogating people who want to send food back.
Lovely food. Very attentive and topped up our Prosecco a good amount. Just a tad noisy!
We have been to Ben’s previously on a Friday and had a more enjoyable experience. On Saturday, the food was average and service slow. It was very busy so perhaps that is the reason but on the whole a disappointing brunch.
Noisy, slow (albeit charming) service and no idea what medium means in the cooking of steak
We had a wonderful bottomless brunch at Ben's Canteen. Our waitress was lovely and very attentative. The menu was varied, although some dishes weren't available. The value for money was incredible as we had unlimited prosecco for two hours and a main dish, all for £25. My pancakes were delicious and fluffy with amazing salted caramel sauce and crunchy honeycomb. Portion sizes were filling. Only down side is that the restaurant is quite busy and a little loud for brunch. I'd definitely go again and recommend for a fun great value brunch.
Lovely food and great atmosphere - bacon was a little too salty!
Went for a Mother’s Day brunch- great atmosphere and obviously busy. Unfortunately it was an hour until we saw our food. Our two small children were understandably hungry, and I’m sorry to say I can’t recommend the food that we ordered from the kids menu- far too grown up ingredients (‘avocado on toast’ was guacamole with all the trimmings on chargrilled sourdough, my 3 year old was still pulling coriander from his teeth a few hours later..) It needed to be much simpler and quicker. Having said that, the food and drinks consumed by the grown ups was excellent! I would go back, just not at peak time and not with my children.
4th time I have been, 4th time I have had the recovery burger with sweet potato chips, 4th time it was incredible! We were there celebrating my birthday and everyone in our group really enjoyed the food and experience more generally.
Excellent food and staff. Particularly like their 'golden latte'. Definitely needs to be tried
Ben's canteen is always very busy and the food is good. that said after reserving a table for 5 via open table the staff members in charge of seating had not properly looked in to the information and didn't have a table ready for awhile, it was a bit haphazard but once we sat down the table staff were lovely.
Brilliant food and service. NHS discount is an added plus!
Lovely staff and even better food!!! Apologies I didn’t tip, I removed ser charge from the bill thinking I had change but didn’t!!!
Service was terrible. Staff rude, miserable and unhelpful. Booked table in advance. Had to wait 45 minutes to order and even then had to ask for someone to take it. They then asked us to move tables as they had a group coming in and needed our (pre-booked) table. The table they wanted us to move to hadn’t even be cleaned. They were in such a rush to move us that they mixed all our drinks around and took some away. We had to ask for them to be returned! The pancakes were a real let-down with minimal toppings. Had to call someone over to ask for more syrup. Nobody was interested in checking if the food was ok. They then added a service charge to the bill!!
Very average, brunch menu is very un-exciting and not very flexible in terms of add-ons and extras. Also, quite expensive for what it really is.
Poached eggs were overcooked, unfortunately.
If you are vegan - there arent many options and all pretty boring.
Great place for brunch. The service was excellent and our server was really friendly. We stayed quite a while but didn’t feel rushed to leave like in some places. Food was also delicious - definitely recommend! The only downside (if I had to come up with one!) was we were sat quite near the door and so it gets very cold! This ended up being the reason we left because we had to sit in our coats - otherwise we probably would have stayed longer and had a few more drinks:
Food was delicious best brunch I have had, very flavoursome and highly recommend the has browns they are the best I’ve ever eaten!
Lovely food but an extremely rude waitress ruined the whole experience. Staff kept coming to our table trying to pick our plates even though we were still eating. On top of that, one of the waitress complained, kind of loudly, about us occupying the table for too long even though we kept ordering food.
The food, drinks and ambiance at Ben’s Canteen is great. I have been here several times with no problems. However, on my last visit my friends and I (table of 3) were left waiting an hour for our food and had to keep going up to the bar area to enquire about our meals’ whereabouts, where we were told it was ‘on its way’ only to sit for another 10 minutes with no update. When the food finally arrived we asked for condiments but no one brought them so had to make another trip to the bar to ask for them. The manager was very apologetic and took the meals off our bill, which I fully expected, but it did put a damper on our evening and meant we had to run for our train from there. Disappointing. I’m hoping this was just a one-off bad night because otherwise I have always had good experiences.
Lovely brunch and glad I booked as they were fully booked. Best breakfast around!
The food was delicious and as a vegan-ish person I had loads of choice. The staff were lovely, super helpful and friendly. Would recommend for sure.
I was very excited to try Ben’s Canteen. I had heard such great things about the Earlsfield branch. Unfortunately I felt let down. After making my first order, I was told they had none left. I then selected the steak. I was so disappointed as the cut they had used was so chewy (like one of usecfirvslow cooking). I sent this vs k and ordered something else which was nice. When the bill came, my steak order had not been removed. I had to complain again! I feel that after all this I should have been offered a good will discount or something but no one even camevti me to discuss my terrible steak!
Myself and 3 friends visited on Saturday to celebrate a birthday. We were served by Sandra who was lovely. She went out of her way to make it special for our friend by arranging a birthday brownie to be sent to the table. She topped our drinks up and even gave us a warning when it was about to finish so we could have one last drink. The only criticism we had wasn’t with the food or service, but we were slightly cold sitting by the open door and we also thought the bottomless brunch was for 2 hours as it’s not entirely clear online that there’s 2 different ones. Overall, a lovely experience and would definitely come back!
Great for brunch, lunch and dinner. Best fried chicken sandwich! Good for groups- just book ahead.
