Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Offered the chance to restore Bentley’s to its former glory when it came up for sale in 2005, Chef Richard Corrigan embraced the challenge. Once again opening its doors to great critical acclaim serving oysters, fish and seafood in much the same way it has since 1916. Linen-clad tables, a wooden floor and Richard’s art collection adorn the walls creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill also has two beautiful private dining rooms. The Crustacea seats up to 14 and the Swallow Street Rooms, with it's own private bar and street entrance, seats up to 60.

There is nothing NOT to like about this place. It’s superb on every single level. Absolutely fantastic everything !!! Beautiful inside and out and everything they do and how they treat you is fantastic. Very classy. Try not to show up in trainers and jeans, even the staff looks great !!
Couldn’t have asked for more. The waiters and waitresses went above and beyond for us. The food was absolutely delicious and the pre/post theatre dining menu was brilliant value. Will definitely be returning.
Great food and service.
Fantastic sea food and service. Would highly recommend.
Lovely seafood. Great service, which made the experience even better. Would love the hot platter to be slightly bigger for value. Haven't had such lovely lobster in a few years.
Would definitely go back.
Cold half lobster with mayonnaise was particularly delicious!
We had a wonderful time , friendly staff, food was mouthwatering the wine was lovely .
Perfect night and cannot wait to return thank you
Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Nice tables outside on a lovely day and you wouldn't guess you were in the middle of London. Food is divine, also wnes and service.
The food is lovely, the place is looking somewhat tired in my opinion. We booked the pre-theatre dinner set menu and on arrival got the main menu, we weren't out for full on dinner so had to attract attention to get the set menu which didn't appear to be anywhere for a few minutes. All that said, the food (from the set menu) was great, the staff lovely.
Excellent service and great location the dining room upstairs is discreet and table well spaced out
Food was excellent both in taste and presentation and wine list impressive for choice would very happily recommend this restaurant for business ...or pleasure ambience suits either purpose
Staff attentive all round and ploite
A very enjoyable experience
delicious food sitting outside but with only 1 bottle of inexpensive wing bill nearing £350 for 4-ouch.
Some of the most beautiful smoked salmon I ever ate with lovely garnishes. Dover Sole goujons crisp perfection and mushy peas with chip shop fritters made for a filling meal. Confident and friendly service and restrained chatter from diners at nearby tables made for a warm ambience in the upstairs salon. Excellent wine list and a shady terrace in Swallow Street for fresh air dining looked well managed. Second visit this year and now a London favourite.
Excellent food especially the smoked salmon!
The quality of food is great. Nice selection of oysters. However, the courses come too quickly. We had barely finished our starters when the main course arrived. It felt as though we had to leave very quickly which ruined the experience for us. I would recommend the restaurant for the food but if you want to have a relaxed meal I would go somewhere else.
I went here on my own, seated at the bar. The service was fantastic: professional and attentive (it was fairly quiet though). The food was delicious and the fish was perfectly cooked. The drinks were lovely as well. Although the whole meal was pricey, it was a treat and I will definitely return in the future.
We had an absolutely brilliant evening. The service we received was second to none; helpful and attentive staff is a massive understatement, the food was absolutely delicious and the wine was beautiful. If you’re looking for an elegant seafood restaurant with a wonderful ambience then please go and try, I honestly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
Igor and Antonio were excellent servers, the food is outstanding, and I really appreciated the AC on a very hot day! I will be back soon!
Outstanding food in lovely setting! Great service too!!
Great food as always, nothing too much trouble. It’s actually pretty good value for money - although over £5 for black coffee does seem excessive!
I simply followed the steps to book a table online. When I arrived at the restaurant, instead of being greeted, I was blamed by the reception lady that I did not state online that my family would be here for a pre-theatre dinner, which was not asked on the online booking form. We were initially led to a table downstairs. When she found out that we were not ordering a la carte, she told us bluntly to move upstairs.
This is rude. As tourists, we did not feel welcomed.
Fortunately, the food did not let us down. We were impressed by the presentation, freshness of ingredients and balance of flavours. We would have ordered desserts if we were warmly greeted at the reception.
Excellent service and delicious gourmet. The oyster is very fresh and tasty. The lobster oyster is very nice.
Food was great, and the pre theatre set menu is a great deal. However the sides was very pricey. Service was excellent
The restaurant is a classic that I have known for many years, I was not disappointed, it is still a very pleasant place with an exceptional service and food as I remembered it. Excellent the sole of Dover and the smoked salmon, also the accompaniment of tomatoes. Very good desserts, especially the creme broule.
The white wine seemed expensive to me, and I lacked some reference to the Spanish wines that have a good quality-price ratio.
In general terms, a good experience that will be repeated in the future.
Went to Oyster Bar & Grill for lunch with my colleague and had a lovely time. Having oysters seating at the terrace made us feel like we were on holiday. The staff was excellent, friendly and very attentive, and for once you can enjoy a nice lunch in peace: the noise level outside was perfect, no loud music. The food was fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back for more oysters!
Great atmosphere and service
The opentable menu portions were a little small for the price paid
An experience as much as a place to eat it is always a pleasure to return
Food was not very good- over cooked Dover Sole is inexcusable!
Amazing restaurant, amazing service and amazing food. Would recommend every time!!
Best oysters in town. Both the Vietnam Mede style and Jersey Rock oysters excellent
Excellent cuisine, atmosphere, friendly Staff, highly recommend
The food was good; well cooked, tasty and fresh but I feel it lacked the finesse expected of a venue such as Bentley's. The wine was excellent and really complemented the fish that we had. The service was really good and the waiters knowledgeable. It was really disappointing that they only had half the oysters advertised on the menu - the waiters cited that it was due to it being a weekend where they're normally busier than usual meaning they had sold out. I booked ahead and our table was at 1430 - only 3 hours after opening, so it's not unreasonable to expect the full menu to be available. We sat outside and were waited on attentively, however, the atmosphere was ruined by the general public walking through the dining area unchallenged by the staff. Overall, the food was good but not really the standard I've experienced in other London fish restaurants holding a Michelin star or charging at a similar price point; this made me come away thinking that our meal was overpriced. I probably won't go back or recommend Bentley's to friends/family and when spending that kind of money I will be heading back to Cornerstone or one of Nathan Outlaw's restaurants.
A must when visiting London it is part of it ,, all it’s dishes are unique in all .
Scrumptious, and all in a lovely light room. Not too bothered by the puddings.
Fabulous meal at Bentleys. Gorgeous fresh ingredients, inventive recipes and stunning wines to accompany the food! We were celebrating our daughters graduation and I couldn't think of anywhere better to be. Highlights for us the John Dory and Lobster summer stew and the scallops ceviche, stunning.
One final point, the service was brilliant - Nelson was on point and subtly delivered excellent service.
Outstanding experience: environment, service and quality.
Good old-fashioned quality, developed over many years.
Food very good , particularly the smoked salmon and Dover Sole. Excellent wine list and very helpful sommelier. Service was excellent.
fabulous homemade soda bread, the freshest tuna sashimi, home smoked salmon, the best Dover sole ever, washed down with a glass of chilled Chablis. Just sublime.
Great attentive service.
Fantastic for business lunch or a romantic dinner for two.
