Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Offered the chance to restore Bentley’s to its former glory when it came up for sale in 2005, Chef Richard Corrigan embraced the challenge. Once again opening its doors to great critical acclaim serving oysters, fish and seafood in much the same way it has since 1916. Linen-clad tables, a wooden floor and Richard’s art collection adorn the walls creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill also has two beautiful private dining rooms. The Crustacea seats up to 14 and the Swallow Street Rooms, with it's own private bar and street entrance, seats up to 60.

Welcoming from the front door and throughout the meal.
Alex was knowledgable and helpful while allowing us our privacy.
The food was extremely well presented and cooked to perfection.
Alex was very helpful with wine selection and the meal was perfectly balanced.
We both felt well fed but that we had eaten lightly
Great service y great product. A place to go if you want to have the best oysters in town
My only complaint is that on arrival nobody asked for my name nor whether I had a reservation. I was later accused of being a no show.
Other than that, the food and service were excellent, the wine list is extensive and good , would definitely come back.
Fantastic food, service and wine, would highly recommend
Despite booking weeks in advance got a poor and draughty table., which was also embarrassing for me with a good client Otherwise good
I had a wonderful time, service was good and food was great. I ordered the seafood platter, just to note, they did change the menu every once in a while, so if you are going back for your favorite dish, just call and check
Excellent overall, would definitely return again.
Staff were very good.
Amazing food, great service and a lovely place. What’s not to like? It was our first time here, but it won’t be the last :)
The food is disappointingly flavourless, especially for the price. Lobster spaghetti was really bland. They also really cram people in, so although it’s not a loud place it’s hard to have a conversation. It’s a cosy, old fashioned place though and the staff were great
Excellent menu and the meals from start to finish were great.
I expected a more fantastic experience for what we paid...nevertheless, nothing wrong at all in the food.
Starters, main course and sides were very good. Perhaps the deserts could have been a little more impressive?
As for the service, it was impeccable!
Perhaps we were guilty as we overdone on the wine and the bill came to what it came.
We had an enjoyable evening thanks to the highly professional and friendly staff. The food was excellent and overall an excellent experience. Would greatly recommend.
My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner, staff were absolutely lovely no BS just very nice and welcoming.
Both the waitors, one male and one female, were very good. In particular the male waitor was very friendly and enthusiastic in introducing and explaining food to us. Really very much appreciate his service.
Food were very good. I like the fish soup and fish stew in particular.
However, we, a group of four, was initially assigned an uncomfortable table suitable for two only while plenty of good tables were available. Has it been the very good service and food later, I would strongly recommend against this restaurant.
Despite booking under the pre-theatre menu, I was seated downstairs where I was told that menu was not served. Moved upstairs and still was handed the wrong menu. The female staff gave us a slightly unimpressed expression as she handed us the menu, checking her watch that there was only 15 minutes left to the clock before the deal finished. We promptly ordered and the service was saved by a much nicer gentleman that evening that despite us opting for a cheaper alternative to their restaurant didn't make us feel unwelcomed. Only further downside that was the table next to us was enjoying themselves so much that their laughter drowned the rest of the floor during the majority of the evening. Mackerel starter was absolutely amazing. The main piece of lamb as nicely cooked but sadly the piece of meat was too fatty leaving most of it inedible. It was still a good evening out for us but certainly it didn't meet my expectations. Bill for the 3 if us came to just over £120. There is a £2 cover charge per person and a 12.50% service charge also on top.
Good but not memorable. Polite staff, rather dull atmosphere.
These guys never disappoint. This visit included oysters, lobster bisque, octopus, Thornback ray, and scallops. All outstanding as usual!
First time here, food was amazing. Service was excellent. Overall a cute date / special occasion vibe.
The Lobster Spaghetti was AMAZING (this is coming from an Italian girl from NYC). However, I would pass on the lobster bisque, as it was more of a lobster broth than bisque. The flavor was perfect though, so if you wanted a very light starter on a cold day, it would be perfect!
Love the ambience, sadly prices have gone up quite a lot lately - wine excessively expensive which is a shame. Always love the oysters.
Just perfect
My favourite restaurant in London. Wonderful feel to the area around he bars. Cloud like batter on the fish and chips. Oysters like just from the sea. On and on....and a piano playing just through the front door. Until next time.
Lovely place, very romantic but pricey even with the theatre offer!
Excellent all round meal. Been many times and it's consistently good.
Great, nice mea
One of the most amazing seafood dinners we’ve had!
Very enjoyable
Excellent lobster linguine. Good wine list. Service a bit slow but fine.
We ate at Bentley’s for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a delicious pre- or post theater menu for £23.50 for 2 courses and £28.50 for 3 courses. The pre-theater menu is available 17:30-18:45 and post-theater after 21:30.
We had the mackerel starter and burrata starter, then both had the lamb (with one chop and also a small serving of braised lamb shoulder), and the spice cake with citrus, lemon curd and dates. All were delicious. Dinner with one glass of wine each was approximately £45 a person.
The restaurant is conveniently located a few blocks from Piccadilly Circus, and has a heated outdoor seating area. The restaurant itself is nicely appointed and quiet in the upstairs area. Service was friendly and efficient.
Recommended....
Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. The best fish, chips and oysters ever. Staff, chef brilliant. Well done.
I’ve been going to Bentleys for years and it is one of my favourite restaurants; for its ambience, it’s simplicity and of course it’s oysters. The only reason I don’t give it absolutely top marks is the turnover of staff means they don’t know how familiar I am with their restaurant and treat me as if it’s my first time, which is mildly annoying but they are always sweet and the place remains one of my favourites.
The food was outstanding, preparation was perfect. The service was a bit slow and inattentive at times. All in all, a very positive experience.
Very pleasant place and enjoyable. Staff were well mannered and patient with us.
Lovely lunch. One of my favorite places in London. The bread and butter pudding is just the best - salivating at the thought of it. Thanks Bentley’s for making a special day even better
It was very good- but pricey.
Tables are quite close together and the noise level is high.
Simply delicious food and friendly, attentive staff
Absolutely loved Bentley's! Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend it!!
Came here for a pre theatre meal. Overall the food was ok, but when the bill exceeds £290 for the two of us ok isn’t quite enough. I had the dover sole which was very nice but at £67 I was expecting something slightly larger. We were squeezed onto a tiny table in the bar area. I didn’t realise until I visited the rest rooms that the restaurant is vast and there are far nicer tables that were available. A bit of a disappointment.
The best seafood restaurant in london.oysters to die for.
