Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill
Offered the chance to restore Bentley’s to its former glory when it came up for sale in 2005, Chef Richard Corrigan embraced the challenge. Once again opening its doors to great critical acclaim serving oysters, fish and seafood in much the same way it has since 1916. Linen-clad tables, a wooden floor and Richard’s art collection adorn the walls creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill also has two beautiful private dining rooms. The Crustacea seats up to 14 and the Swallow Street Rooms, with it's own private bar and street entrance, seats up to 60.
The iconic Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill has two private dining rooms. The Crustacea Room accommodates up to 14 guests on our reduced A La Carte menu, no room hire fees. The Swallow Street Room accommodates up to 60 sit-down and up to 100 standing. There are no room hire fees. Menus start from £40.View Private Dining Details

Perfect evening, couldn't be better. We will be back!
We have been several times and thus knew what to expect. They did not disappoint, wine, food and services were all first class. We will continue to go there.
Every time this place is awesome, what an institution, what a London gem
I love Bentley’s but the service to begin with on Saturday was a bit off. We sat for 20 mins without being offered a drink. We were sat opposite the staff toilet. A member of staff got the vacuum cleaner out behind us.
So not a good start but our waiter who eventually served us was lovely and turned it around for us.
The food was lovely as always.
Excellent service! Attentive and food was great!
A good night out!
Great venue with good atmosphere. Our waitress was very good but completely overwhelmed as there were not enough serving staff. Ordering and service of drinks was haphazard at best.
We waited a long time for food on both courses but thankfully the food was to a high standard when it arrived.
I also think that the food is getting overpriced with £56 for a Dover sole with no sides is very steep.
Debatable if I would return any time soon.
Amazing fish restaurant.
Super friendly, helpful staff.
Lovely friendly staff, very fresh oysters - really recommend and good for special occasions.
One of our favourite places been there every year since it opened.
Fresh and delicious seafood. Warm and friendly service. Everything was great and We will come back very soon.
Visited Bentleys with high hopes for a good meal in stylish surroundings.
Was given a poor table by the kitchen door - which kept banging open and shut.
Fish soup for starters was thin and flavourless.
Main course of chicken was also lacking in flavour - and a rather small portion too.
Puddings were better - but overall this was a disappointing meal. Won't be going back.
I travel to London frequently, and absolutely love this place! Sometimes I am by myself and always find meals at the bar wonderful. Other times I bring friends to dine, mostly outside. I have always experinced outstanding service in the best of London's traditions. The seafood is incomparable, fresh wide selection of oysters, and outstanding fish dinners. The wine offerings are substantial at reasonable cost.
There are several great fish houses in central London, what keeps me coming back is the consistent high quality offerings and most importantly the exceptional people who greet and serve everyone who comes here.
Excellent oysters which is the main reason for the lunch
Whilst we did have a lovely evening at Bentley’s, we were slightly disappointed with the set menu choices. There were only two choices for starter and main and both of the fish choices were smoked fish dishes which seemed odd to me.
We ended up eating a la carte so the meal was hugely more expensive than we thought it would be.
Great food and service, would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys seafood
I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch & so did my friends. I was told about it by my Dad who read about it in the Daily Mail. It was lovely would really recommend.
The raw and baked oysters are worth the trip in itself. The mains weren't as good as the starters unfortunately. The sea bass was good but pass on the vongole. For the prices I had higher expectations for the mains. Good special occasion place.
Had a great time. Food was excellent and service even better.
Oysters! We love sitting at the bar watching them being opened. There's great selection but they're expensive.
Was a fabulous lunch, the staff and service was excellent. Would have given 5 stars but gave 4 only because food courses were served a little too quickly and we had to ask the chef to hold the main course for 10-15 mins. We were first diners to arrive for lunch so maybe why food was served too quickly.
For 6 of us was a little bit expensive £940
Delicious food served efficiently and courteously in a traditional environment
Beautiful food; exceptional service!
Oysters. Fresh and clean.
Dressed crab. I found few bits of crab shell in it.
Lobster bisque. Lovely.
Smoked haddock. Very soft. Cooked well.
Linguine vongole. Lovely linguine noodles but should have cooked with right clams, like telina rather than tiny baby clams. Should have done silt clearly, I had quite a lots of slime.
Creme brulee. Very nice. Well burnt on the sugar cover
Affogato. Lovely. Right portion.
Service was very good.
It’s not hard to believe that Bentleys has over 100 years under its belt. The service. The style. The decor. The food. All top quality. Fish pie and lobster linguine were heavenly. A dozen oysters as a starter - deliciously fresh and full of flavour. A Sancerre wine to accompany the meal. Now that is a meal made for kings and queens. A special occasion to be remembered!
Absolutely fabulous from the service to the food. A truly amazing place
Excellent fish really professional and courteous staff
Time flyes -but not a Bentelys!
After some 103 years, Bentleys still serves the best Oysters and Sea food in London. First class, no rush, outstanding food, fantastic atmosphere, very competent waiters.
We were four persons from Sweden visisiting Bentleys on the 4th January 2019, we will come back soon.
Fish and chips excellent but not sure what the cold grey mushy peas were all about. Superb side salad however.
Weird ambience. Staff Uber formal with guests but able to chat and laugh amongst themselves. A bit more of that with guests would be welcomed!
Amazing New Year!!!
Service is amazing, amazing food, and wine was great too.
Bentley’s is by far the best restaurant I have ever been too will always go back staff are amazing and so attentive the food is out of this world! 5* all the way
Have visited many times. Always a nice atmosphere but feel that the prices are just getting out of hand
Went with family during Christmas break for lunch. We had the Oysters, which for Oyster loving husband, were outstanding. We then all had the fish & chips. The fish was so succulent and chips & mushy peas delicious. We were way too full for dessert so can’t comment on them, I couldn’t even look at the menu I was that full. The staff were lovely and welcoming and always on hand when needed. Would recommend for a treat.
Well it's Christmas Eve, Santa is on his way, but he may be avoiding Virginia in county Cavan as Richard has been a naughty boy.
The once packed, unsurpassed Bentleys falls from grace. Pared back to the bone of my Lemon sole, sink into the sloppy premium fish pie.
It's a difficult market, Mr Corrigan. This execution won't cut the mustard, change or move on. Happy Christmas.
Delightful bar men and great oysters. Entree portions are generous. Always a go to place when I’m in London
Oyster is a must try item, lobster bisque seared scallops are all unbelievably delicious
Absolutes excellent evening- wonderful food, atmosphere and service
Would not miss going to Bentleys when in London
