A lovely restaurant with high ceilings and stunning old fashioned decor. The only minus was the service which lost momentum the time desert course came around. This was rectified by management who kindly gave us free deserts and coffee which they had offered themselves. A lovely Sunday lunch and experience.

Berners Tavern is certainly a fabulous restaurant visually with a great vibe.
However it is clearly style over substance how disappointing
Service rather hit & miss, we were served our wine for lunch BEFORE our cocktails had arrived
Starters of Smoked Salmon scrambled egg was delicious with generous portions as was Ham Hock.
Sadly our main course not so great, whilst the Roast Beef & Lamb were flavoursome & cut like butter the vegetables totally missed the mark.
Roast potatoes were Luke warm & extremely hard to cut into, the cauliflower cheese although looked appealing again hard to cut no flavour of cheese & the sauce thin almost watery milk
It wasn’t busy which made it worse
We were really disappointed…
Would we return NO
Recommend NEVER

Forgettable tbh. Overpriced and quality was so so. £90 for an average quality steak for two that was a bit burnt. Mayo in store bought minis.

We couldn't get a table for 7:30pm (Sat night) so accepted an earlier one for 6pm. Place was 90% empty still when we left at 7:30. Didn't show any sign of filling up so I can't even guess what the booking system is. Anyway not the main issue, but odd.

I think I am a bit over forking out for mediocrity, some of that is central London, but hey lift the game to central London standards and I'll pay for it.
