The Berners Tavern is a fantastic venue with a great interior, most notably the wonderful ceiling. The service was great, attentive and friendly. Our dishes were well executed and my fish was cooked perfectly. Pudding was beautiful and the mint ice-cream was deliciously minty.
Overall a great night out.
The sommelier that served us was a delight. He made the evening that much more enjoyable. Unfortunately we didn’t catch a name but he was young and fun, and very engaging. He knew everything to know about wine. The 2 vegetarian options on the menu served it justice, the risotto was to die for. I would definitely come again.
Went for my girlfriends birthday and had an amazing time! Food was delicious, service was friendly & timely and the dining area was decadent!
The service was fantastic and as it was our daughters 18th Birthday they really made her feel special with a lovely little chocolate delight!!
I do feel the starters are overpriced and I would avoid these in future
Wonderful food and ambience
Amazing experience. Best meal in London.
Spacious, pleasant, convenient, not very noisy at all.
Nice place for dining and the staff are very accomodating
A fantastic restaurant, with excellent service and brilliant food. No pressure in terms of finishing meal and a lovely touch when an anniversary cake was given to us!
great food and ambience, service was slow and we were served by different waiters the whole time.
Beautiful room, decent food except steak was not well cooked, too burned from the outside. Also music way too loud.
Lovely service and great food. Always enjoy starting lunch at the bar with one of the brilliant cocktails. Sommelier’s wine recommendations were spot on. Decor is interesting- plenty to look at!
A stunning setting with the food and service to match. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the meal was good value. Great wine too! I would definitely recommend a visit here. We went for lunch and I'd be keen on coming back for an evening meal here.
The food was good and the service was excellent- and the restaurant itself is so appealing.
Best service I’ve had in my life.
Had a very nice time, Food is very pricey, but very good. Service was very good
The only thing it’s not a relaxing place and you can’t have a conversation as the music it’s VERY Loud. It would have been perfect if the music wasn’t to loud, so people don’t have to shout at each other
The food was very poor that we ordered from the menu, had the cod and wiener snitzel.
The fish was a tiny peice and the amount of sauces and ingredients took away from the ejoyabilty of the fish as it was overpowered by the multiple, strain taste.
The staff kept walking by and not paying attention to following up with our table.
Overall I can say I do not with to visit again, much better food in Holborn dining room for example and better value too.
We went here for an anniversary breakfast, before my husband’s business trip. The restaurant made it special by getting us a cake! It’s a small gesture, but it meant a lot! The ambiance is amazing, the food is good quality, and the service was great! Cant wait to come back!
Experience 10! Drinks a Plus! Canet miss!!!
Service and food were very good and I like the large airy room, but the wine list is far too expensive and would probably prevent me from returning.
Amazing food coupled with disappointing service. It’s become a bit of a production line in the last 12 months - they hard-sell you drinks, bring the bread out at the same time as the food, rush the courses and move you to the bar straight after your meal to tidy up for the next sitting. Not the sort of place to go if you want a proper, fine-dining experience. Cannot fault the food - in fact, the food is truly impeccable - but I feel like this place has become a victim of its own success.
Great staff! Impeccable service. The sommelier knew what he was talking about and was very helpful.
We had the worst table in the restaurant right beside the kitchen entrance. Would ask for a different table if returning. Very loud therefore difficult to carry a conversation. Food was good and service very good.
A great restaurant to have a meal with friends from overseas. The atmosphere in this place was superb and the service was excellent from the moment we entered the restaurant. One of my favourite restaurants in London.
Not only was the food superb, this was the most beautiful restaurant I have ever dined at.
Impressive interior, tasty food and great service.
Some items were on the pricey side, esp. on the wine list, but I suppose it's what one would expect for a restaurant of this standard.
Really enjoyed it. Definitely returning.
Lovely room but could do with air conditioning being turned up. Service was very slow - 45mins and several requests required to take order. Fine once underway. Food varied between excellent (strawberry salad and burrata toast) good (chicken schnitzel) and disappointing (over salted, gristly roast beef). Accommodated 2 small children well.
Food is good but not that impressive in London. Service is slow and now very welcoming.
Beautiful place. Music is terribly loud. You can’t have a conversation unless you shout!
Outstanding in every way! Highly recommend the pork pie and macaroni cheese with beef (absolutely massive portion too).
Could not have been better. Great see tion of s otch, wine by glass and good. All top notch. Would definitely return
The venue was spectacular but felt the service was too fast paced . We felt like we were surrounded by people keen to clear the table, made u feel on edge. Starters lovely & ambiance/surroundings great.
excellent service and quality food, will be going back for sure
Amazing food and top quality services in a one of the most beautiful restaurant in London.
I dined alone - and it was a fabulous experience. From the welcome to the service throughout to getting the check, it was a pleasure. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, and the raspberry baked Alaska was simply amazing. The sommeliers and servers were all personable, highly capable, offering sound guidance when asked. The ambiance of the restaurant was very positive and dynamic. I struggle to find an area for improvement - the noise level might be a little high for those sensitive to that, but I noticed the couples on either side of me had no difficulty.
Our first visit was for a pre theatre dinner and it was wonderful. Perhaps lacking a bit of atmosphere at 17 30 because the large restaurant area was rather sparse of guests at that time but the food and service was exquisite. Whilst rather expensive we still think that the meal was good value.....and we'll be back!
Service, in terms of friendliness and attentiveness was excellent. However, the kitchen misplaced our order, which meant that we needed to ask our waiter to find out why there was such a delay between courses. The staff were extremely apologetic and removed items from our bill, to apologise.
Unfortunately, the fish that I received had soggy batter and was bland. It felt as if it had been cooked, then left on the side until we reminded them of our order. My starter, which we received promptly, was really good.
Lovely venue. Excellent waiting staff. Let down by poor kitchen service and main course.
Visited Berners Tavern on Sunday for lunch with my parents who were visiting London - we all absolutely loved it!
Great food (sunday roast was amazing), beautiful interior, lovely staff - highly recommend!
(slightly pricey but worth it!)
Lovely food and easily able to accommodate a coeliac who requires gluten free options which is always a pleasant surprise
