Hadn’t been in a while! Had a nice evening! First of all, we had a fabulous waitress who had great personality and handled several tables with style & efficiency! Had a great singing voice as well!
French onion soup & mushroom soup were delicious! Our mains, roasted Cornish hen & octopus salad were also very good!
They really do the French bistro thing very well!
Amazing service from a great staff, the food was also incredible
I always enjoy dining at Biff's Great food, lovely ambiance and polished service. Staff were very attentive. Was also easy to have a conversation . Will definitely return
Good food, service and ambiance.
We were treated like royalty! An excellent evening, as always. Thank you!!
Definitely going back. Awesome food great service almost feels like you’re sitting in a Parisian café
The service was absolutely amazing. The food was very good but I was hoping for a little more flavour. The desert was excellent.
Chef from Maison selby sent me over to try the charcuterie and give me inspiration to plate my charcuterie boad better
The restaurant was not busy. The waiter was not attentive and never asked us how our food was. I asked for more bread and he forgot and then came by quite a bit later and offered if we would like more bread.
My daughter ordered the flat steak and it was extremely tough. No matter how small we cut it, it was extremely tough. I ordered the fish stew and there was no shrimp in it as listed in the menu. Further there were no leeks. Instead they put in red bell peppers. The portion was so small that I finished it in about 4 bites and waited for quite a while until the others at the table finished. There was one scallop, three small thin pieces of fish in the stew. They charged $32 for the dish.
Other dishes ordered were the roasted chicken and duck confit. It was ok.
My husband and friend ordered the prix fixe that comes with dessert that they ordered at the beginning. The server brought us dessert menus and totally forgot about the desserts that came with the set menu. I would understand if the restaurant was busy but there were only about 5 tables. It took about 15 minutes to get the desserts and then again we had to wave him down for the bill. He never inquired as to how the desserts were either.
It was disappointing overall and not what I expected from O&B. P
Only comment I have is that it seemed to take a while to get our drinks; other than that, the food was great.
BIFF'S was our go-to place to celebrate EVERYTHING! Unfortunately, the service (or lack there of) left nothing to be desired. It had me questioning if there was another place to enjoy good food, good service & great ambience. The food was outstanding but that is as far as it went. The service was mediocre and there was no acknowledgement of my husband's birthday regardless of me stating it on the reservation, to the host and to my server. We will be looking for another go-to place for our next celebration at the end of June.
My wife and I truly enjoyed this little restaurant. We just came to the city for a play and we are so glad we stumbled across it. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The food was lovely and we didn't have to wait and unreasonable amount of time for it. Thank you Biffs
The food was delicious! Ambiance was so cool! Pricy spot but worth it if you love tasty food!
The appetizer were delicious so I was anticipating a great dinner but it was disappointing. The duck was tough, the chicken was mostly stuffing and the beef Bourguignon was over salted. Mains are pricey and the portions are small with a lot of filler. Their presentation of the food is excellent. I enjoyed the desserts as well, apple crumble was warm and not too sweet.
Came to Biffs for my wife’s birthday and tried to suspense her with her friends. Biffs is one of our favourite restaurants. They treat all their guests very well and the food is always fantastic. Great environnement and great selection of food! Will always be back!!
Under cooked my fish!
Amazing food! We sat in the bar area as the dining area is very loud. Very nice, attentive wait staff. Would definitely go back.
Terrific meal with excellent service. Decent wine list with 50% discount on some bottles on Sundays. Great menu of classic French Canadian food.
Amazing every time. Service. Food. Ambiance. First class place.
Bistro atmosphere. Great value. Good food and service
Service was exceptional, wait staff were very helpful and polite. The food was generally great, but the fries that came with the steamed mussels was cold and stale. We didn't have time to eat our dessert (spent too much time catching up with each other) that came with the price fixed menu and we asked to pack it up, the dessert came with ice cream and they just put the ice cream inside the box, when I got home, the ice cream was melted and the biscuit below was soggy, i had to throw it away. If they had told us it comes with ice cream we might have just finished it there very quickly so it wasn't wasted.
Lamb was OK but not great. The steak was tough. Service was very good.
Service was too slow. Got there at 6, ordered by 6:15. Food came 7:30. Told them at beginning we had to leave by 7:40 for theatre. Took 50 min. To get a glass of wine!
My family and I came here for dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday and it was truly an amazing experience. The food is amazing, the service was perfect and the ambience is great. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!
Two of us dined before going to show at Yonge Centre. Had beef tenderloin, was perfectly cooked. Creme Brûlée was also very good. Service was a little slow.
Food was delicious. Presentation was lovely. Servers are all so french and fabulous. Lovely evening. Perfect for a ladies night, even better for date night. Drink special is the perfect topper.
Very slow although barely anyone in the restaurant. Oysters served without proper fork and spoon for the mignonette.
I was disappointed.
The Sancerre was delicious, but the rest of the meal failed to thrill.
Salade truffee was fine.
Boeuf Bourgignon was very salty.
The Cranberry Clafoutis needed more cranberries and I prefer my clafoutis with a more Yorkshire-pudding-like batter.
The Nicolas Pinot Noir was OK.
They had run out of Armagnac altogether! In a bistro! what about Le Trou Gascon?
I should add that my waiter was excellent.
None of this reflects on him.
The location is perfect and the menu selections good. But the noise was so loud we had to shout throughout the entire meal. The server mixed up our order not once but twice! And the bill for a simple meal - appetizer, glass of wine and mediocre meal - was $85 per person.
I'd been to Biff's before and recommended it for this outing. I was sorry I had; no one loved their entree and we all found it too loud and too expensive.
Service was excellent. Charcuterie was delicious and the steak frites 6 oz filet was excellent.
I would like to go back and order something else before saying I don’t like this place. Unfortunately I found the steak frites too salty and it did take a very long time to arrive at the table. I suspect other dishes are better and the staff were very friendly, helpful and hard working.
Loved everything about it! On Sunday they have half price wine which is great. Our server Al, was amazing and knowledgeable in all areas of service. Definitely will be back 👌🏽
Great ambiance. Impeccable service. Food was delicious. It was nice to have parking so easily available, especially when the restaurant is located in such a busy area.
Very good meal with the obvious added convenience of being right opposite the Sony Centre. The steak tartare was excellent as was the poached trout in a white wine sauce. The apple crumble dessert was beautifully presented but alas the pastry was a little underdone.
The service was great. The price is a little expensive for what it was, but the rent for the location must be expensive and the fact you get to park for just $2 justified it.
This was our first experience at Biff's and we were delighted. Everything was superb - the decor, the service, the cocktails and the food. Our server suggested a wine pairing for my husband that went perfectly with his steak.
We will definitely be back.
I would recommend Biff's as they have an interesting menu and the food was above average, but I would suggest you DO NOT go on a night when there is something on at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts. Our reservation was for 6:00 pm and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Then the restaurant started to fill up with theatre patrons and our service started to suffer. We found that people who had arrived after us received their main courses before us. The table behind us was paying their bill before their desserts even arrived. And, when our son tried to order another drink (off the "specials' menu, which ended at 7:00 pm) the waiter said "Oh sorry, you've missed it" - it was 7:08 and the waiter hadn't been to our table in over 20 mins. Not a great customer experience.
Beautiful room. Though the servers were polite and professional they seemed to have too many tables as they were hard to flag down. Drinks came 10 minutes after food with an apology and second round was comped. Portions very small for price you're paying. Caesar salad croutons were tooth breakingly stale, bacon undercooked and cold, lettuce under dressed. Black truffle salad was nice but under garnished for price. French onion soup was a little cool. Bearnaise was room temp and 6oz tenderloin must be precook weight, too small! Fries were good but not uniformly crispy. Perch was deep fried but not crispy, very oily plate - too rich for fish plate IMO. Chocolate cake was too dense. Really a brownie. Peanut butter mousse was delicious but amount was not proportionate to size of brownie. All in all very hit and miss in kitchen. Room was very loud and tables quite close together. I went because I was seeing a show across the street but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Menu was limited
Originally seated us right at the entrance when the whole restaurant was practically empty though agreed to change on request.
The steak was fatty with a lot of the fatty trims still in the steak.
Service was acceptable after the server warmed up with some casual exchange
As evening progressed and the restaurant started to fill up the noise level also went up considerably to the point we could not have conversations at normal decibels
The branding is totally incoherent, to begin with...a French bistro called "Biffs"? Table for two, we had the charcuterie board and Fois Gras, average at best, worst bland pina colada I ever tasted, four waiters came to the table to deliver the food consisting of a charcuterie board and two plates of Fois Gras felt like we were being swarmed, the menu consisted of one page on a clear plastic covered unimpressive menu. Steak Frites as a dinner item isn't a game changer, as a matter of fact, it's 1995 downright boring. The ambiance looked cheap and slapped together like an independent Applebys decorated with brick a brack from a garage sale. $168 for two people. First and last time.
Food was fantastic - as usual! One of my absolute favourites in the city!
