Delicious food. Classy atmosphere. Charming company, but you’ll have to find your own date ;p
waitress was OUTSTANDING food excellent as usual Charcuterie special was HEAVENLY all in all a very special evening.
Great food. Good value. The camembert share plate was great and everyone loved the flat iron steak. My friend had the calf's liver and said it was amazing.
I went there for a date with my partner before heading to the Christmas Market. Our waiter, Michael, was lovely throughout our dining exoerience! Phenomenonal food, romantic ambiance, and an overall great dinner. We will definitely be returning to try dessert next time.
I am a chef in good standing for over 25 years, biffs was an incredibly great experience for my guests and would recomend this bistro to everyone!
Great conversation and food/drinks!
Biff’s never disappoints. I was with my girlfriend’s birthday and we had a very good time. The ambiance and the server were amazing. Friendly and professional staff. We had a very good food and we were satisfied. Our server Kitty was very good and helpful and professional. We had onion soup, mushroom soup, escargot, tuna stake (delicious) and lamb shoulder (amazing)and some brandy. . Overall great.
We had the oysters and wine. Food was amazing and service was friendly. Recommend!
The server did not let me know about the specials or prix fox menu. So when I went to order my salad, he dissuaded me against the salad that went with the prix fix. At the end of the meal, my friends ended up with desserts and didn’t know why. And of course I did not.
We also told him we had a show to go to and continued to wait on service and we were late for our show. Because the service was so slow, we had to take desserts to go and returned after the show to the bar to finish our meal.
Waitress was lovely and the team was very accommodating both from a seating and ordering.
Went to Biff's to celebrate my birthday; incredible food, friendly atmosphere, and not super expensive. See you again Biff's!
We had a fantastic time. Service was exceptional they even searched for other restaurants to go to for the next day as we are visitors from Vancouver. We are a foodie city and love that Toronto is too. Biff’s will not disappoint. Food was delightful. We both had beef bourguignon a fresh crisp salad with champagne sauce (I’m celiac so they altered dishes for gluten free). Followed by a flourless chocolate cake that was delicious. Highly recommend this spot and will return in Feb when we visit Toronto again. They also had a private sitting area that we shall bring our friends to
We were seated promptly, drink order taken however we did have to wait a bit to have our meal choices taken. Food arrived in great time, was hot, simply presentation and food was very good. Overall, service was friendly, efficient and engaging. We enjoyed our time, were ale to have a conversation as music was not unreasonably loud. Will go back.
This is the third time of been to Biff's. They always have a good selection of wines. I would like to see a few more beers on tap. Food is always excellent. I do find it a bit too noisy at time. Tables are very close together. Our last visit the next table was fairly loud. It get it...just having a good time.
Excellent service and food - great choice for a business meal in a really accessible area of the city. It’s was a little annoying when a large business group came in and started banging loudly on tables but it didn’t last long... that was probably the biggest frustration. If go back and if certainly recommend it for others to go for a decent group meal.
I will be back soon but the food was rushed out when I would prefer to finish my app before my main came out. The waiter was lovely my food amazing and I love the vibe.
First visit to Biff’s and it certainly won’t be my last. We had a wonderful time. The steak was as soft as butter to cut through and the apple crumble at the end with vanilla ice cream was a delicious hark to your grandmother’s after dinner treat. Our server was charming and attentive, as was the gentleman that greeted us at the host stand. Will be making a return visit for sure.
Fantastic food, service and wine. We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with Brian. We were surprised with a complimentary desert as a congratulations for wedding.
An early dinner before a show. Excellent food and service. Been going to Biff’s for years and highly recommend.
Outstanding! Cozy, intimate and elegant. The tan-coloured leather seats and banquettes add to the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed raw oysters, duck and mussels--everything was top notch! We stayed about 3 hours and enjoyed every minute of it.
My guest from California had the steak frites and the steak was very salty. He did not say anything in the restaurant as he was my guest and did not want to complain, however he told me later. If I had known I would have insisted that he have his meal replaced. It was so salty that he had a reaction!
I had the cobb salad which was fine, but nothing spectacular.
I had not been to your restaurant for quite a long time and was very disappointed, to say the least.
Excellent food, beautifully presented. Had the trout, and it was superb. Great place to go before a performance at the Meridian Theatre across the street. Nice decor, but could be a bit more cozy, especially during cold winter nights. The service was professional, unintrusive and business-like, which may be because it's located in the financial district. I'd recommend Biff's as a good option if you are looking for a French restaurant in that area, as a special occasion.
1/2 Price wine on Wednesdays!
Very good entrees. I had the beef bourguignon and my wife had the lamb entree. Both were quite delicious and attractively served. A French Pinot Noir paired nicely with both meals and was very reasonably priced. We had a very charming waiter who has developed the talent of good service without hovering. Well worth A try.
Always a very pleasant experience. Gives us the Parisian dining experience.
In a word, the service was: Disappointing. Everything took far too long to arrive at our table. Drinks took 20 minutes. The food, when it arrived, was smaller portions than we had expected. We ordered dessert (my friends, from out of town, were still hungry since the gnocchi was smaller portion than expected), and waited nearly 30 minutes for it to come to our table. The whole meal took 2 hours and at least half of that time was just spent waiting for things to arrive. I pointed this out to the waitress and she seemed completely oblivious.
This restaurant has been a standby of mine for a couple of years but not after this experience. Clearly no one is in a rush and I'm not convinced the waitstaff and kitchen staff and servers actually communicate with each other. Too expensive for so much sitting around.
Menu was lmited, prices were high for mediocre food and plating was bad (food crumpled on small serving plates).
Very very salty food. Had to send back. Couldn’t really taste any of the ingredients because the salt was so overwhelming.
We were a group of six women - three from Oshawa, two from Ancaster and one from Toronto so Biff's was a great place to meet and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you.
variety of choice on menu but the right amount of choices. my wife had the lamb burger and I had the calf's liver, with a lovely sonoma cab sauvignon, and creme brule for dessert. will definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Toronto
We had been for dinner earlier in the week and had such a pleasant and tasty meal that we returned for lunch on Friday to meet with friends from the past who had come into town from Hamilton. The service was very good and our requests to modify the menu were handled pleasantly.
Phenomenal service and food! Is loud inside hard to hear across table at times but well worth it!
Loud, pricey for what you get, and mediocre food. Not suitable for conversation.
Food is tasty but for the price, the portions are small and leave you hungry at the end of the meal.
Not sure it is value for money. It was very loud (fish market) but no complaints on that because I believe at peak lunch hour every restaurant will tend to be loud - 'energetic' in your language :-).
food was great! service was superb! you've got to go!
A big thank you to Biff's for being so accommodating (request for quiet table) and amazing, attentive service! Our server Al was personable and a fantastic host. Thanks so much for making a special occasion even more special for our guests of honour. We will definitely be back!
Authentic French cuisine served in a beautiful atmosphere. Soft jazz music made it easy to hear table conversation. I had the mussels and frittes and they were perfect. My husband had the perch and it was great. We shared the an appetizer and dessert and were satisfied. Great wine selection and service was impeccable!
Overall the meal was good. Request was made possible, service was good and food came out well cooked/seasoned and delicious.
Great place for dinner before a show. Great food and they get you out on time for your show.
Pre-concert dinner with friends. One of us has dietary restrictions that made French cuisine a challenge. The waiter questioned politely, spoke with the kitchen & brought a great meal that tasted super without causing any ill effects. Nicely done.
