Food wasn’t up to standard
The hostess at the front was extremely rude as we arrived slightly late (we got lost finding the place) and was being a bit over-dramatic given the place had many free tables. She kept reminding us we now had less time at the table because we were 15 minutes late. That already put me in a bad mood.
Next I asked the waiter how big the pulled pork platter was which cost £16.90 and he made it sound huge. When it arrived it was so small! I could barely believe it would feed 1 person and the 2 sides it came with was small too. Good job I ordered 2 additional sides at £5 each or I wouldn’t have had enough to eat. They were small portions as well so terrible value for money.
My friend ordered a bbq chicken Caesar salad which looked dreadful. It was drenched in dressing and cheese and the croutons were more like burnt bits of bread which were rock hard. The bbq glaze was awful too. She told the waiter how poor it was and he did nothing to even address it.
Needless to say we won’t be going back and we didn’t pay the discretionary service charge.
I ended up paying £31.60 for a meal which was of worse quality that my local chicken shop.
Express menu is great for lunchtime - good portion sizes
I took my son out so he can try the all you can eat wings as a treat, he likes wings. However I was told and made to feel as though I must order a meal because we can’t share the his wings! Goodness, it was 6:30 I had just had a busy day at work and had already eaten. It’s not like we were 2 teenagers. Even if I had a couple of wings, what’s the deal. That’s not all. When he asked for a refill, he got a side order of wings. The menu said unlimited! When I asked to take the left overs I was told we couldn’t. What the waitress didn’t know is I’ve been before with a group and we all did not order wings, yet I was allowed to take the left overs and we didn’t get sides as refills. It must be because we were black! Very poor service from BigEasy on this occasion. The unlimited meal is £20 per head! That’s not cheap. Thumbs down to you Big Easy. Not nice.
Great customer service. Overall 5* Only complaint would be food not being as hot in temperature as I’d like it but still tasted great with good flavours. Lively ambience but not to loud to have a good catch up and coversation over food.
We had a great waiter who was very accommodating as our group did not arrive together and he still allowed us to order the express menu, whereas on a previous occasion we were told that our order wouldn't be taken until the whole group were sat done at the table. Great drinks at happy hour, and a nice vibe in there and space to move from the dinner table to the bar tables for drinks.
Always get good service at The Big Easy and the prizes are brilliant. Thank you.....
Ah we loved it in here, could go there dressed up or casual the food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful
Obviously not! My hamburger, which I waited for over 30min was dry, tasteless, cold and overpriced! This place is filthy, I can't recall seeing so much dust & spiderwebs in one place.
We were they for a birthday and it was great but quite expensive.
Food and cocktails were excellent as always however my Nan had to wait over half an hour for her drink as her order was forgotten.. however the lovely gentlemen with the Afro was able to get it sorted instantly and help with all our queries. Thank you.
Food and drinks excellent but the rest was over whelming but not in a good way.
Too loud. Acoustics are terrible.
Lighting too dim to read the menu and the menu text was too small on dark paper in a dark room; awful.
Service was rubbish but they were busy.
Great night out
Great food, service and ambience
Miss some of the items on the older menu such as crab stuffed shrimp but still excellent food
Naughty fat munch, bare amounts of proper fat nosebag
The only downside was that we couldn’t get served at the bar whilst waiting for our table to be ready. It was very busy and not enough serving staff. This was infuriating and we nearly walked out.
But once we were sat at our table, our server was brilliant and very helpful. Food was good.
Very good experience
We love it here!! It’s the first time my kids have been and they loved it too!! Thanks very much for a great evening
Had a really nice time but felt like you were eating with the people on either side if you as the tables are so close together.
The express lunch is terrific value and very good. Available all afternoon too! Definitely be going back.
Food and service good at lunch times, but at busy times it can take a while for food to come.
Would be good to see more veggie vegan options. I was told ‘It is a bbq house what do you expect’ by the waiter taking my order which I thought was quite rude!
Me and my girlfriend went for her 18th birthday and it was perfect the meal wasn’t too expensive and we had two drinks each starter main and desert to share the atmosphere was great with a live band performing, the service was so quick and efficient everywhere was clean and tidy and set out well we enjoyed every moment!
Deae Sir or Madam,
Me and my friends were left extremely displeased with our experience at Big Easy for numerous reasons.
First and foremost, it is worth stating that the ocassion was my 27th birthday and, thus, it was an incredibly important day for me and as Big Easy had been recommended by a reliable friend I selected your restaurant as the location to dine at.
One of my friend’s had ordered the All Yoj Can Eat shrimp and he ensured to proactively ask a waiter whether the shrimp was freshly sourced or if it was of a lower quality, such that he ought to order a lobster dish instead. The waiter very confidently responded that it was certainly the former. Upon receiving the shrimp, we found the quality to be nothing more than merely subpar and by virtue of this we were extremely disgruntled. There was literally no seasoning on the shrimp, and it looked as if it belonged to a discounted carton of frozen shrimp that can be purchased as a basic value item in a supermarket. To be brutally honest, the taste was utterly disgusting
By virtue of the fact it was my birthday, my good friend chose not to spoil the ocassion by complaining - at this juncture everyone’s food had arrived and due to his cordial and respective nature he thought to dismiss the fact his food was subpar. However, after we asked to try some of his shrimp the rest of us completely disgusted by the taste, to the extent that we insisted he complain. I ought to also mention that the portions were miniscule, to say the least.
After much discussion with one of your waiting staff, they finally agreed to allow us to speak to a manager. Firstly, I find it horrific that it took so much negotiation in order to convince your staff to allow us to speak to a manager. Once a manager finally arrived, she spoke to us in a very condescending fashion when explaining that we were simply undermining the shrimp.
I conclude that we will be not visiting Big Easy again, nor do we intend to recommend it.
Service and food was of the usual high standard BUT the service charge was added to the bill and then there was an option to tip. According to the waiter the service charge is not a tip and he wouldn’t receive any of the service charge...unfortunately this double tipping left quite a sour taste.
Came to Big Easy, Canary Wharf for my Girlfriends birthday and it was fantastic. Great vibe with some of the best bbq I’ve ever eaten, the staff were fantastic and helped us move table when we had too much food to fit on it! They even brought out a slice of banoffee pie for my girlfriend at the end! 10/10 will definitely be going again, the ultimates bbq on Monday was a highlight.
The food was overpriced for the quality and taste.
Best lobsters in town . Great atmosphere and service.
Had an amazing time with my friends on Sunday for the brunch! Will recommend for sure!
I hade wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and was happy to finally visit. The service was good. They were attentive. Food was nice ..lots and we were nice and full. The only two things about it that was not great my frozen mojito did not taste like it had a bit of alcohol in it and the floors were a bit slippery in the shoes I was wearing which kept slipping so that was not great.
Quickly seated, not much room between tables was very busy but was served promptly and queries with menu explained thoroughly food and drink served quickly and checked on regularly to top up platter if needed, all in all good service apart from seating which was very cramped
Great venue! Try their amazing selection of Bourbons after a superb meal. Waiting staff amazing considering how busy!
Thursday steak/lobster night is incredible value - only criticism was we were early and went to the bar but had to wait 15 minutes to be served
Nice food, but was very noisy which put me off, would go again
Our waiter wasn't the best had to ask for the dessert menu. Also it took him ages to take the order. He should have been more attentive.
Really good lunch offer deal. Food was good too, great service.
Beautiful location and restaurant. I fairly enjoy the food and the cocktails but the service was brilliant! I went to Big Easy to celebrate my birthday and even got a small surprise at the end. Thank you for a great night!
A bit chaotic at firsts
I arrived early and was just told to go to the bar...
It was packed and I was left wondering how me, my table and guests would all congregate in the same place...
Then spied hostess escorting my guests to a table...
We were one more than booked for and they accommodated and moved to a bigger booth....
Couple of rounds a bit wrong with lager number and choice but didn’t matter....
It was a great night and we weren’t looking for silver service....
Perfect for a midweek bender!
A nice night out, the garden walkthrough is a nice touch to get to the entrance and it revealed a funky little restaurant with a nice view and live music was icing on the cake
As the years go by I'm slowly falling out of love with Big Easy.
It's quite expensive and I'm failing to see the value for money.
Unless you're able to get a booking within Happy Hour and go for one of the £20 daily specials it's just really not worth the price.
I went for a surf & turf (steak and half a lobster) and I was horrified to learn that I would need to order a side of chips as its not included. Considering the meal was already £30 (and that's without a drink) it's pretty unreasonable that chips aren't a standard. It also didn't come with a decent side salad but rather a handful of large (unidentifiable) leaves that I opted not to eat.
The steak wasn't seasoned well and the lobster was rather small (considering cost) but nothing a little salt, peper and garlic butter didn't fix.
Cocktails are decently made, usually with a nice amount of alcohol but will set you back £10 - so once again if you don't make it for Happy Hour it's costly.
That being said, the staff are lovely and it really is a nice atmosphere but avoid going outside of Happy Hour if you fancy indulging in more than one cocktail and check out the special for the day as it's the only thing one the full menu that provides value for money (comes with chips and a free drink!).
Would I recommend? Unfortunately no - but now I know the best time to go and what to order so I'll visit again in the future.
It was to noisy, but the food arrived fast and was good.
