Food was nice but the service was poor. Our drinks orders were constantly forgotten, we had to remind our servers at least three times about drinks they forgot. Plus two of the managers had arguments with one server in front of our table (two different incidents) one resulting in that manager throwing a pack of napkins on the ground in anger. Really unprofessional service.
We paid a very large amount of money for 4 people. Our main disappointment was in addition to the large seafood dishes, oysters and the meat - arama? we ordered 2 Ceasar salads and these arrived as a bowl of full sized salad leaves, no making them bite size, with a chicken breast dumped on top. There was no small edible or shredded pieces of chicken It was unappetising and vastly overpopulated with salad leaves. A little more attention to detail would have been nice. The service was not particularly good, we had to get up and get our own cutlery off another table as none came with the food, and the waitress taking a bill payment from the table next to us proceeded to make the customer feel guilty because they put their tip on the bill and not on the table!!!! Altogether a night of different events and feelings
Staff were very welcoming.. food came very quickly after ordering and so did drinks. Our waiter was great, soon as anything on the table was running low he would come over and ask for a top up. Definitely going back
It was a Father's Day treat for my husband. We all enjoyed the vast selection of the menu as it seems each Big Easy has their own menu. We were impressed with food and size was huge and filling. The waiter was very attentive and helpful.
I really enjoyed visiting on a Saturday evening. Different crowd and slightly less busy than Thursday/Fridays! Food is good and generous as always. Great service!
Had a fabulous evening with my husband and 3 children . Food and drinks were fab and the service was great.
Our lobster rolls had half as much lobster meat as normal. Very disappointing.
Although we loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the quality and authenticity of the food, i have to say for my first experience eating at Big easy I was a little disappointed. There was a hair in my food and our dessert orders were wrong and nothing was done to compensate this. I had already eaten a vast amount of my meal when i came across a hair entwined in my pulled pork, from that point on wards i couldn't finish it. I notified our waiter who apologized and said he would inform the kitchen. As i had already eaten most of my meal, i wasn't overly fussed but felt like i needed to inform someone to make sure no one else had the same issue. Then we ordered desserts and when these came out they were wrong. We ordered two Apple Cinnamon Waffles (our favorites) and received two strawberry waffles. We informed the server who brought them over to us, who then informed our designated waiter that these were wrong. These were then left of the side and brought over with a candle on one as it was my partners 30th Birthday. It wasn't until the happy birthday song was sung that our waiter acknowledged the orders were wrong, instead of correcting these first and then bringing them over. It then felt like we had to take them. As my partner didn't want to cause a scene and send back the desserts we agreed to try them anyway however, neither one of us eats cream and didn't realize that the waffle was strawberries and cream and the waffle was literally smothered in cream. We both took a couple of bites (3 at the most) but the cream was too much so we returned these to our waiter.
When the bill came, we were still charged full price for everything, even though we didn't eat the desserts and they were wrong to begin with. The disappointing factor was not the food it was the customer care. We were celebrating a special occasion and we were let down at the end. We would come back and eat again as the food tasted great and the atmosphere was amazing but better care should be taken
Amazing place! Must visit!
Staff were super friendly and accommodating and the brunch was great value. Thank you!
Busy Friday night but service was friendly and efficient. Good place for a family celebration with our twenty-something children. Lots of sauce on the lobster bake so go for a straightforward grilled one if you don't want it drowned.
Always seen this restaurant on the DLR so had to make it an opportunity to visit, seeing as it was close by to my hotel i couldn't miss out on the opportunity. The food was very tasty and me and my group enjoyed it so much we plan to return the next time we are back in London. The environment is real nice and the food is good and the cocktails are amazing :).
If i had to fault it for one thing and that would be they didn't clear away our starter plates before giving us the main, but besides that it was good customer service.
Can't wait to go back, its a definite must try for anyone
Always great this place. Great portions and fresh seafood. Even basic chips are crazy tasty. Great atmosphere and the staff are unbelievable. Friendly and helpful and it's child friendly
Member of staff was quite rude. Not willing to explain some of the questions he was asked.Bread was quite old.Felt a bit like brick.
My sons 9th Birthday
Great atmosphere and great location overlooking the dock. Weekend boozy brunch was given to us as a Christmas present from our Daughter and her Fiance and was best taken in the Summer. My Husband had the Big Pig bbq which was very good and I had lobster thermador which was cold/room temperature along with hot chips and salad. When I queried with the waiter whether it was meant to be cold he said it was meant to be like that because of the sauce and if I had had the lobster dish with garlic butter that would have been hot because that sauce is hot. I was actually given a jug of melted garlic butter as well, not sure why. I am dubious about his explanation as lobster thermador is usually put back under the grill or in the oven after the sauce has been added, however it did taste very nice. Such a shame the brunch now only includes a half pound lobster and there is an extra charge of £5 for a whole 1 lb lobster which was not the case when the gift idea was given to us at Christmas. The drinks included make it good value.
Food was pretty good. Service was not was a let down, waited pretty much the entire time for servers to approach us once we were sat down, had to keep calling them for things we required. Was not what I expected.
I really enjoyed the starters I felt the mains were a bit of a let down, the ribs were very tough and the sausage was very fatty
The issues I had was, my chair was broken and after giving us drinks no one came for while to take out main orders, I had to call them over.
Other than that food was lovely as always.
Was not impressed with this visit. It took nearly 25 minutes for someone to ask for our drink order. I asked for a plain burger with just bacon and cheese, it came with no cheese. I then waited 10 minutes before I could get someone’s attention to ask for my cheese. So by the time I did eat my burger it was cold and the meat wasn’t very nice anyway. We also had to remind the waitress that we had ordered extra chips and mac and cheese which We then had to wait a further 5 minutes for so it took 15 minutes from the moment I received my meal to actually getting the correct full order. Do not wish to return to the Canary Wharf branch of big easy
Iv been here a few times. But this time was quite disappointed we both had lobster whitch I thought was quite small the side salad was green leaves and two halves of tomato we weren't offed any sauces or salt and pepper all in all quite disappointed
We went for the Big Easy Brunch. Food came out quickly and the prosecco was flowing. Great value, the chips were amazing!!
Lunch menu is excellent value. I have an allergy which was noted and the server made aware so she steered me away from some dishes.
food was dry and bland....not the usual yummy food....
Had the California lobster roll, quite disappointed as this the 3rd time I’ve been, I seem to get less and less lobster.
Chips were great!
Thanks for looking after us, and prodicing dessert with a cangle for the birthday person! Excellent food, but would rather have wine than a stein with the bar-b-que.
This is a very busy restaurant and the 2hr table stay is strictly adhered to. That said, the food is very well cooked, tasty with very generous portion sizes. We ordered a mixed meat platter for 3 and couldn't eat it all and were able to take some home. Very good value for money.
Came to the Big Easy for the weekend brunch with family and friends as we have been doing for the last two years and I must say it was rather a disappointment. Lots of changes have been made to the brunch over time including removing the unlimited drinks and replacing it with a bottle of wine/Prosecco or jug of beer/mojito per person, however now the company are cutting down on portion sizes with the food. Where you got a whole 1lb lobster with the deal and could upgrade to a larger lobster for £5, you now only get half a lobster and have to pay an extra £5 for the whole lobster or £10 for the 1 1/2lb lobster. Shame on you Big Easy Bosses, you have turned what was a lovely dinning experience and celebration of your delicious food into a money grabbing exercise! It was clear that this has been recognised by others as the restaurant was no longer packed to the rafters during brunch hours. Many tables sat empty and the usual buzzy atmosphere fell rather flat! That said the waiting staff were as attentive and friendly as ever. Again it was noticed that there is a high turn over of staff at the Big Easy, obviously they are not appreciated by the company and quite rightly move on to better positions. Lots of companies offer brunch deals and I have tried quite a few, however I would always return to the Big Easy brunch as it was my favourite place to take friends for a guaranteed enjoyable afternoon. I shall be rethinking this now as unfortunately the Big Easy has definitely gone down in my estimations!
Great value for money, we had the meat which was amazing but my friend had the lobster & said it wasn’t that great. Service was really quick until you ask for something like salt or BBQ sauce & then they took forever!
Waitress didn't come to check how the food was or to see if we wanted more drinks. However we got gifted an additional starter after the chef prepared the wrong one. But most important there is a leak in the roof falling directly onto our table
Waiter didn’t seem happy - he seemed in a rush for us to get our order.
I arrived on time awaiting for the rest of my party. However I was told I wasn’t able to be seated until the rest of my group arrived - even though I had a reservation. Seems very odd I couldn’t be seated. When I finally was seated there were 4 tables free - didn’t make sense as to why I couldn’t be seated. I was not made aware of this whilst making the booking.
Service was really disappointing from the start with the woman greeting us to our waiter. Real shame as the food is good - but I won’t be returning or recommending. I may try a different venue.
My new favourite restaurant, great specials menu. Suitable for dates, friends dinner, work drinks.
Nice cocktails for happy hour. Big portions of food. Good music too.
Another great meal with excellent service
Excellent table service! Tables were cleared promptly and drinks replenished before we even had chance to ask!!
lacklustre food, and waitress missold cocktails. poor
Food was very good. Service was a bit hit and miss but overall did not cause a problem.
Would definitely go again but wouldn't order as much as there was too much food.
Food was great! Service was poor. Got our food long before our drinks and kept asking for our drinks and kept being told it was coming. We have up when we were half way through. Although, they did turn up in the end. It was not good service.
So much better than the one in Covent Garden! Lovely service and food was good too!
