Father’s Day ! Great service
It was nice, quite busy and the booking was quite late so the food wasn’t as fresh but overall was nice.
Great time . Had two lovely people attending to us ; Lucas and Nicole. Music was a little loud where we sat down . Food was alright. Nothing spectacular. Bathroom could be looked after much better for a busy venue .
A catalogue of errors.
1. We had to queue for 15 minutes despite having a reservation.
2. We got taken to a table that already had menus on and the waitress said, if this is someone else’s table, just come back to reception!
3. Took ages to get served.
4. Food quality was really poor. We’re Big Easy fans but this meal was not good. Some hot, some cold and lacking in flavour. Burnt ends starter was more bone than meat. No one checked back on us to see how things were.
5. Mains arrived before starters were cleared
6. Asked to leave our table as we’d been there 90 minutes. See point 3.
7. Moved to a different table near the band to make way for another table. Then asked by someone else to move to a outside table
It was evident there is bad organisation and poor quality. If you cannot cope with volume, don’t accept the bookings.
Wonderful experience, totally recommend.
Very helpful waiters
The food is good although overpriced for what it is. The vibe is fun but really busy at moment. Staff were friendly but gave us the wrong information about deals that were on so we ended up ordering something we wouldn’t have otherwise! Also we were sat outside on a corner and kept getting forgotten about - we waited 30mins to order!
Have been before and had a better time so won’t rule out going back again but maybe not for a little while.
Came for a special occasion. Good atmosphere however service was poor, long wait for food. Rude host on door, and didn’t show us to the table. Server was very unsympathetic around allergies and again slow. Only nice at the end when he wanted his standard 12.5% tip. Although food was nice the lobster was tiny so my £20 salad didn’t seem worth it
I was seated 15 mins after my booking. The reception staff were absolutely lovely, and the girl with braids even recommended food options as we were walking to the table. After being seated it all went tremendously downhill. It took 30 mins for someone to ever approach me, and I had to literally stand up and wave someone down. The place seemed to be staffed well, but all waiters were constantly running away and could never hear me screaming “excuse me”. I had to ask multiple times for a napkin as my drink had spilled and was dripping all over the place. Both male waiters took my order with masks at their chins. I mean what’s the point of having it on at all. One even coughed whilst writing my order down and had his mask on his chin instead of over his mouth and nose. Disgusting. Our food took a further 25 mins to come, and the steak came cold, hard and dry. Probably the worst I’ve ever had. The bottomless drinks were not consistent as you could hardly get a waiters attention, and we ended up not paying service charge because it was just awful.
I’ve heard bad reviews from friends about the food and service here before, but it was a last minute pick as our original dining option was temporarily unavailable. It has potential, but the staff are clearly not made to enforce Covid safe practices, their far too busy to give a good service, and the menu needs improving.
Not to impressed with the cocktails. Would prefer.a glass instead of a great big jug didn't enjoy that at all.
We were seated for 20 minutes before our first drink was served for our bottomless brunch and when I asked for a drink 10 minutes towards the end I was told no. So I got 2 drinks in 2 hours. Food tasted OK, if it wasn't for the friendly male serving us, I would have given less than 3 stars.
Great food as always and wonderful atmosphere. The staff were very polite and helpful. Thank you.
Arrived early at the restaurant as most of establishments tells you to arrive at least 15min early to do your track and trace. Upon arrival was told my table will be ready on time and we had to wait no track and trace no social distancing. Food was expensive for what it really is. This restaurant is dangerous as no precautions are taken groups of more than six are allowed without any restriction. Would not recommend at all
Great, tasty food that was good value in fab location. The only downside was our table was under a speaker which was pumping out some blues music but could have done with it turned down just a little.
Food and drink were amazing!!
Staff were attentive and kept us well stocked with drinks. 100000% going back!!
They need to bring back their A game, the food was really bad when I went.
Only 2 people at the table could
actually eat their food, the drinks were a iced mess - not slushy drinakable at all.
The kitchen got the order wrong on 2 seperate occassions. And my friend was aerved cold chips 3 times.
However the starters were nice, which was actually sooo disapointing as we were expecting the food to be just as good.
The lkbster and truffle chips were delicious, but jt was nice to see that my friends food ordrrs were done soo poorky really spoilt a birthday dinner.
Onlg decent thimk from the experience, is that the supervisor invalid the 3 meals from the order since none of them were eaten.
I guess thats the best he could do.
Dont think ill be going back to Big Easy Banary Wharf in along time..
Arranged a birthday dinner. The place was ok. Food was good, not amazing! Tables were dirty, mayo on the seat. Appeared nice but wasn't the best. Service was great. Pricing is high. Drink are expensive (ice made it loo more). Toilet was disgusting l, like a night club. Blocked toilet, dirty.
Great meal. Lovely views. Recommend for an enjoyable evening.
Couldn’t find much to be positive about to be honest. Service was slow and erratic, the food was truly mediocre and expensive and even though we complained twice that the fried chicken sandwich was dry the manager did not come over to talk to us. Will definitely not go back and I don’t say that very often. A poor expensive imitation of an American smokehouse.
Waiters were very attentive. Our food and drinks were served quickly.
I’m not the kind of person who always writes a review. In fact, this is the first time I decide to write one because I want you all to be aware of how bad my experience was with big easy Canary Wharf. I went to big easy Canary Wharf for dinner with my boyfriend yesterday. We ordered two steaks and two half lobsters. All the steaks and the lobsters were completely over-cooked. My boyfriend and I wanted medium rare steaks but they gave us two completely well-done steaks. My boyfriend talked to a waiter about our food and he first said that this was the standard of ‘medium rare’ in their restaurant until he saw the steaks which were completely brown and tasted very dry (imagined you were chewing a dried ham only it was a steak). He told us he would talk to the chef but his attitude made us feel like he didn’t care our experience at all. Moreover, the waiter cleaned and wiped our table and took away all the bottles of sauces while we were still eating. I understand that they needed the table back in 1.5 hours but we were only there for 45-50 minutes, so this was totally unacceptable and made me feel very not respected. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone because of my experience and I would probably not go there again in the future.
The best place in East London the food is really good, fast service
Wonderful visit. We were served by tavanna who was so so nice and attentive. So polite and couldn’t have asked for a better waitress. We were there for the lunch time deal and the value for money is insane. Normally come in the evening where the prices are £££ but 2 courses AND a drink for £13 is unbelievable, especially when the food is so good and the speed that the food comes out is amazing. Overall would definitely recommend visiting during the dine and dash time frame in particular, we'll be back for sure. Thanks Tavanna!
Fantastic atmosphere, loved the music. Our server was very helpful and very nice. The food was not as good as I’ve remembered, but we enjoyed it.
The food is way too expensive for what it was.
It's a pity that nothing is done for people who mention that they are celebrating their birthday
Amazing food and customer service great will visit again
From a pleasant start things went down hill quite quickly - service was slow and poor, food took extremely long time and even after two hours some of it never even turned up (& we were asked to leave after two hrs) - spoke to the Manager who apologised and said they were short staffed - shame they didn’t communicate this when we first arrived. Extremely disappointing and not a great experience for any of my party
Whilst the food was very good, the service was not great.
After waiting an hour for main courses to arrive
1 main course arrived 10 minutes after the others
1 main course was incomplete
To their credit a discount was offered to recompense for the service shortfall
Chicken was dry, Shrimp had 0 flavour and tasted as if they were boiled.
We’re given the wrong bill and if food standards were increased, the price would be understandable.
Food was amazing, and good value for money - we went during the early bird lunch so got the offer which was £10 for a main, and you could add £2 extra for a side, and/or £3 extra for a drink so £15 total for a main, starter and cocktail of your choice. I got the lobster roll, popcorn shrimp/calamari, and strawberry daiquiri, slushie cocktail. All were 10/10, calamari was a bit salty but still nice.
Drinks were nice, strawberry daquiri was nice, the raspberry margarita was okay, would have preferred it to be a bit sweeter. Both drinks were strong enough.
The service was good, the waiters were friendly.
The restaurant itself was big, and clean. We got the option to pick where to sit when booking, we went for outside. It was just a normal outdoor area, I expected better views, but I think there were some nicer parts to sit with outdoors but we didn't really have much of a view where we were sitting (just by the door of the indoor part). But the weather was good so wasn't too fussed.
*Don't think they had any vegan options though, I saw a veggie burger on the menu, but not sure if it was vegan? Would be nicer to see more vegan options as I would go for them too next time if they added any to their menu*.
Great place, nice food and lovely staff
The area was really nice, Big Easy Canary Wharf is definitely the place to go.
It’s good but overcharged us. Our table have deferent receipts. We paid £331 at first then the other receipt is £315 so they gave back £15 deference. If we didn’t check we will be overcharged.
Don’t think this place is worth the hype to be honest - dry food, dirty plates left on table when we arrived, long wait times
Our food came cold and the service was really bad
After waiting 15+ minutes to be served we ordered Shrimp Tuesdays which offers unlimited plates of a chosen shrimp dish. After another 30+ minutes the food arrives which we quickly finished and asked for the second serving, another 30 minutes passes by and my partner receives cold shrimp and I receive half a serving which I finished in a couple of minutes. I asked for the 3rd serving as the 2nd one arrived but still a 30 minute wait for some shrimp. By this time our 1.5hr booking was over despite still being hungry and wanting another plate we had to leave.
After all this you are still charged 12.5% for ‘service’.
This is my second time at Big Easy and both visits have been poor. Choose a privately run steak house or Italian, it’s 10x better than this trash.
Appearances are misleading. In the big easy in canary wharf the food was too indulging. Waited 1 hr for orders to be served and that's only because we pushed the waiters. Then they got our order mixed with the table next to us. There were no wings. I asked for a cracker and the waiter then went to do something else and didn't even let me know that he had asked a colleague to do it
So I thought he just ignored me. Had to call him to remind him and he told me oh my colleague is bringing it for you.
In the end I asked for the service charge to be taken off the bill to which the waitress had a good response. But will not be going back. The live music was good though.
Having been to the restaurant severely times before - we know it can get busy, however we had to wait over 30 minutes for our drinks and 45 minutes for our food.
When the food was brought out, the beans were cold, the bread was dry, the ribs were overcooked and we never actually got the chips.
The waiter tried arguing that the ribs are meant to be dry, which is correct - they aren’t a saucy rib. However, the meat should be tender and this was definitely not!
Have been before and really enjoyed it, but think the experience is getting steadily worse each time we go. Things really need to pick up or they will lose customers!
Waitress was lovely but the overall experience was not great. Had to call over staff numerous times to hear our requests, I had to ask 3 different staff for a spoon, in the end I walked up to the bar and got one for myself. Requested a small scoop of ice cream as a surprise for my partner to celebrate an occasion, waited half an hour for it and no sign so ended up leaving the restaurant. Appalling.
Good interior, but ambience rating takes a hit from going to the loo and finding a man and a woman sharing a passionate kiss next to urinals. Very slow service, they had about 3 waitors for the entire place. There are people who bring food to your table that are mysteriously not waiting staff and will forget stuff you ordered. Or forget to give any plates. Very good value for food though on a Monday.
Booked a business dinner and it wasn't mediocre at best. Some food came out great, like the lobster and the beef burgers. Veggie burger wasn't great - super dry bun and patty seemed raw. Hush puppies were still batter in the middle.
We waited about 30 minutes just for drinks and after food arrived, we weren't served at all until we waved a server down to bring another round of drinks. Drink order was wrong and actually served to another table.
Unfortunately we never had our table cleared and we had to approach two different servers just to get a bill so that we could leave.
Extremely poor service from start to finish, and even charged us extra at the end
