Big Easy Covent Garden
We proudly offer a large slice of easy going living, inspired by the Gulf Coast, with live bands 7 nights week, a friendly welcoming atmosphere, fresh cocktails, ice cold beers and generous portions of
good old home-style cooking offering Home-Smoked BBQ & Fresh East Lobsters.
Fast forward to today and we continue to uphold those time-honoured traditions; social occasions of the bygone age, friends getting together over great fresh food, plentiful drinks and music - these never go out of fashion.
Not bad, but the food appeared to be covered with commercial barbecue sauce after it had been cooked rather than being cooked with a barbecue marinade or sauce from the start. The sauce rather drowned any taste of the underlying meat
Had to ask for drinks menus, had to ask to to order food. Basically no one served us without us calling someone over. Considering the place was empty this wasn't great. we were celebrating a special occasion and the poor service put a bit of a downer on it!
They didn’t give us sausage this time......😔
Special meal with family... food was pretty nice and authentic
However there was a slight problem with the bill where a free ice tea accompanying the lobster became a charged item on the bill
Fortunately the server was willing to cancel the item from the bill
And the male toilet was like thousands of levels down from the ground...
what a great boozy brunch, plenty of food and drink. If you are in a group have a think about who has what to drink as you cannot chop and change.
Our first visit, and won’t be the last. We had the £29.50 brunch menu - my partner had the lobster & shrimp sandwich and I had the Piggy. She really liked her lobster & shrimp and ate it all. I really enjoyed mine, but really couldn’t finish it all.
Overall, a good experience (though probably quieter than usual due to Coronavirus) and we’d recommend it for informal meals.
Vet poor service. Portion sizes too small (especially for lobster based dishes) lobster roll for instance doesn’t even come with chips. Also opted for a drink with lobster roll and was charged for drink. Waiter was given a drinks order which never showed up even after asking twice.
A very good time, food and service was excellent. Although the restaurant was busy service was excellent.
Amazing food nice atmosphere in the restaurant I would recommend
I came for my birthday with 5 others found it very busy, got here before my booking but wasn’t seated until 20 minutes after. I enjoyed my lobster roll! And slush cocktail was very busy and loud though but overall was good
We were 15 minutes late arriving so weren’t allowed to do boozy brunch which was the reason we booked. Very disappointing overall, food was nice but service was very bad.
Been several times - great value for money and food is always delicious!
Great value for money buy was very busy and loud atmosphere. Need more servers per section to ensure everyone is topped up with drinks. Great experience otherwise.
Great food and they held my table, but the service was slow and it was difficult to get staffs attention at times. The manager who served us was lovely and efficient :)
Despite the reservation saying we would have the table for two hours, we were rudely told to move to the bar upstairs after 1 hours 45 mins, then while we were getting ready to pack up and move to the bar we were told again they urgently needed the table. We didn’t get our bottomless drinks worth and it was fairly rude how they brushed us off
Not good value for money. Ordered half lobster, barely any lobster & same for surf & turf.
Waited 20 minutes to order & could not hear the waiter as music so loud.
Fantastic food. Fast and efficient service
Would definitely recommend - Thank you !
Had a nice first date there thanks .. food was great
The large lobster I ordered was smaller than the average size, was super fishy smelling and was missing most of the content. It was also watery. Will not go again
Food was incredible, steak was absolutely delicious, the lobster at first scared my girlfriend but she soon realised how good all the food was
It would have been nice if the online booking would explain the booking for being downstairs to enjoy the music.
However, our waitress was amazingly friendly & attentive & the food was yummy.
The prawn deal on Tuesday is a rip off. Potatoes werent cooked properly. Only got 5 prawns, then asked for more and got 2”3. So much for unltd prawns.
Mediocre food and disappointing service. Things take ages and the drinks taste watered down. Won't be going back any time soon.
We ordered the half lobster which came with no meat in the actual lobster . The deep fried unlimited shrimp was good . and the drinks were good , if not a little slow.
Amazing place to eat! Super friendly service. We went on a Monday and got all you can eat meat for £20 each! The flavour and tenderness is impeccable. It was my boyfriend's birthday and we got complimentary dessert with a candle!
Food tasted awful, and was in a pool of grease of oil,
My teeth were stained black afterward aswell as my lips
Wasn’t happy at all
And will not be returning in the near future
Service was slow even though a quiet night. My pot of tea was bought half way through my main course, no spoon, sugar or milk. Food was sat waiting for 10 minutes at the side before being served.
The toilets were in a terrible state at this was only at 5pm, God knows what they were like later in the evening. There was no toilet paper in the men’s. For the cost I would eat else where.
Great place to go with a large crowd , easy to book online and no fuss or deposits required , Food is great if you are into bbq food .
Service a bit slow sorting drinks but otherwise good all round service
Delicious food, cool setting and good value.
Shame about the service. Would go again and hope for a different server.
Great place for a group of friends if you want a lively, casual meal/bite to eat. Seating can be a little cramped though, food and drinks are always good!
The restaurant was very hot. The main course was delicious and a generous portion. We ordered a waffle for dessert and it didn’t taste fresh. It felt like the waffles were made the night before and not fresh on the day. I normally dine in the Canary Wharf restaurant and the quality of the food i feel is higher there compared to Covent Garden.
- Hot and stuffy - aircon was broken and we were seated near kitchen heat output vents.
- Staff were rude and service was sloppy - I was given a pint glass to drink a mojito cocktail from
- Wonky table - so much so that drink fell over
- food was very mediocre and steak was cold
- toilets were filthy
- was barged out of the way by a waiter at one point with no apology
Would never return and would never recommend.
Read quite a few reviews about terrible service so went with that in mind- which helped, we were very persistent and asked whenever we needed something. Initially they did seem very understaffed and busy with the food coming way before the drinks, no cutlery or serviettes given when the food had arrived. Once our waitress ended her shift an hour into our sitting, home girl Agnes came through with the service! She was a lot more attentive and quick to cater to what we needed. Overall, great bottomless for the price you pay. Burger & lobster have better rolls but still decent in comparison.
The food was delicious. My friend and I ordered small whole lobster each with came with salad, garlic butter sauce and a drink and we ordered additional sides too. I have been here a few times and despite the restaurant being always busy, staff were friendly and attentive.
Food and service is good but the tables are spaced too close to each other
The tables next to us basically squished us flat to our table from both sides. While its more patrons etiquette perhaps the restaurant can consider raising menu prices rather than accommodating as many people as possible
Also for 'bottomless booze' perhaps no need to stick to one drink for each person? To reduce waste can consider less choice of drinks but unlimited with choice. Thanks
Booked lunch here for my daughter and I before the theatre. Liked the look of it online and we wasn’t disappointed.
Staff were very friendly. The food was all delicious and the price was reasonable.
Will definitely return.
The food was so good my partner ordered another cornbread 😂 the waiter Peter K was so lovely and accommodating also.
Not the best good and service and a bit overpriced
Just basically disappointed in every area. Service slow. One main arrived after most of had finished.
Table took forever to be cleared
Drink order wrong
Food was very average.
Final nail in the coffin. The small print. Happy Hour was only available at the bar.
Wish we hadn’t bothered.
I had been to one on kings Rd about 8 years ago and it was excellent.
Thursday steak and lobster night is insanely good value. £25 for perfectly cooked 8oz steak, half a lobster, fries and a half bottle of wine! Plus slushy cocktails for £3 before 7pm - gotta be some of the best value food and drink in London!
