Big Easy Covent Garden
We proudly offer a large slice of easy going living, inspired by the Gulf Coast, with live bands 7 nights week, a friendly welcoming atmosphere, fresh cocktails, ice cold beers and generous portions of
good old home-style cooking offering Home-Smoked BBQ & Fresh East Lobsters.
Fast forward to today and we continue to uphold those time-honoured traditions; social occasions of the bygone age, friends getting together over great fresh food, plentiful drinks and music - these never go out of fashion.
I used to enjoy going to Big Easy, but the quality of food and service have deteriorated recently. The lobster roll was more celery and mayo than lobster, and there was no sign of garlic butter. And we had to wait ages to get the service staff’s attention just to ask for the bill. Very disappointing.
The food was awful my chicken was slimy and seemed under cooked also the ribs were tough and could not bite it off let alone chew it and one of the prawns were just like mush did not enjoy it at all. My husbands steak was over cooked, and it was small tiny amount of room felt like a sardine! And I kept hitting my head on the light above the table too not sure if it was supposed to be directly above my chair and so low???. I Did not enjoy my experience at all
Me and boyfriend came for a brunch on a Sunday for our anniversary and had the unlimited bbq meat and unlimited frozen mojitos. It was amazing, such tasty food! We were both given a jug of mojito each and then we were topped up by the glass after that. Staff were on the ball and friendly. Such a bargain for a great experience!! I would recommend to anybody :)
Great atmosphere, live music was fab. Food was good although overpriced. Great selection of drinks. Service was slow and poor, we had to remind the waitress on several occasions that we had ordered drinks and not received them. Long wait to be seated even though we had booked a table well in advance.
Visited this at the weekend and was my second visit. Food is amazing - could not fault it. Waitress was good too. We did not have the best table if I am honest, round the side by the bar. It is quite a busy and loud restaurant but we were ok with it. Will definitely revisit - bit of a special occasion place.
Average service - we asked to move table as we seated next to the kitchen / clearing area despite many other available seats.
It isn’t a patch on what it has been in the past
The food wasnt nothing fancy. Very expensive for what it is.
I would recommend but not the Covent Garden one. Booked here as id been to Kings Road restaurant and it was amazing. Didn’t have the same experience. Felt quite awkward as went straight in for main meal, waiter looked disappointed but could not recommend a starter for us to share. Then didn’t speak to the waiter until we asked to get the bill - understand it was a very busy evening but ‘how is your meal’ would’ve been nice.
Has to be tried, the food was excellent. Unfortunately the room was really hot and noisy, the prompt food service (5 mins after order) ended up making the meal feel a little rushed
The food was very nice but over priced for what it is. Your burger dosnt even come with chips , drinks are very over priced as well. The food is very nice but not that good so I will be going back.
Lively atmosphere more suited to a younger drink orientated crowd, my parents were less keen on the decor and ambience but the food was tasty
Service was very slow which meant we didn't start out bottomless brunch until 45 mins into the booking and still had to leave the table after 2 hours. Can't complain too much as the food is great and amazing value, just not quite the 2 hours bottomless as advertised!!!
Terrible service, waited for our table to find that we had our table upstairs given away to another table of 4. Even though I had booked and specifically asked for to be seated upstairs. As the music downstairs is overbearing and stupidly loud that you cannot hear the people you are with talking.
After eventually getting to the table, found there was tissues and food all on the floor underneath the table as it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Then waited 30 Minutes!!!!! For a drink order to be taken after 45 minutes eventually got our drink.
There was 4 of us and we ordered 2 deluxe bbq o Rama’s between the 4 of us. There was definitely not 2 of them. The portion was not much larger than the taste o Rama that I had on a previous visit to Canary Wharf.
Overall, terrible service, slow staff, untidy table, extremely loud atmosphere and worst of all over priced for the amount of food charged for.
Very good food, a bit pricey but I suppose quality will always be expensive. Overall very nice A+
Love this restaurant, however we found a chicken bone in the chicken burger.
Very good！Enjoy the food and music.
Cool place to eat, still busy with good atmosphere even post theatre. Good food, reasonably priced for central London.
The service was very nice but a bit slow. It was not easy to get hold of someone to pay the bill and after we got the bill we had to wait quite some time until we eventually paid. Could have been a bit quicker. Otherwise in terms of friendliness etc all very nice
The atmosphere is lively, friendly and attentive service. Our food was both under and over cooked and we found some of the prices a little excessive. However our waiter took care of all issues to our satisfaction.
The chicken wings were amazing and the lobster too
Great food and atmosphere, our only gripe from the 9 of us was that the “all you can eat wings” wasn’t all you can eat. We were asked to vacate our table whilst still eating, this happened twice and when we requested more wings the portion was tiny. We understand it’s a busy place but when a table of 9 are eating and drinking it’s not going to be done in an hour.
Big Easy is ALWAYS good idea! Never been to the one in Covent Garden before but it was great!
Actually I arrive 15mins earlier, the reservation mentioned that I need to wait exactly 7:00pm but then I saw there is a lot of table available inside, that’s kept me wait outside in this cold weather. However, I do sense that the waitress and reservations the two ladies had some bias and long face on me just because me and my friend are Asians?????? I am so angry about that. And for the food, the lobster should be the most bad food I had ever ate, it was totally over cooked and not fresh. Overall I won’t recommend this restaurant to my FOREIGNER/ASIAN because the people worked at this restaurant have hard discrimination on ASIANS.
Enjoyed the setting and music. I had the Pig Grill plus rib tip starters. The rib tips were lovely as was the big easy two pint stein. The pulled pork and cornbread was lovely however the one rib was fatty and the chicken was tasteless . Beans n slaw delicious.
Amazing as always
Ordered 2 x 2lb Lobster, Chicken Tenders and truffle chips. Overall experienced was good. Just abit disappointed with the Truffle chips as they a bit oily and soggy.
We had a great time with friends at big easy.
My friends were very pleased with the food and the service. Thanks.
Really nice place with tasty food and very friendly staff.
Friendly with an authentic southern US vibe.
A very enjoyable evening with lots of friends a great party restaurant
Delicious food, fabulous service, fun atmosphere! We came on a busy Saturday night (couldn't get in at loads of places with 8 of us!)...took a chance here because they had an open table, and were SO pleasantly surprised by how wonderful our experience was! Our server was lovely and helpful, all of us (including our kids) enjoyed the lively atmosphere, the food (particularly the barbecue chicken and the shrimp) was delicious and great for sharing, and the cocktails were yummy. I'll recommend it to friends!
A busy, bustling restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. Great for large parties or groups who like a lively ambience. Portions were average - the 'deals' were fairly small in size (half a lobster & salad was not sufficient for a hungry person) but the quality of the food was good. Truffle chips didn't taste particularly of truffle(just order regular ones) but the excellent garlic mayonnaise made up for this. Service was attentive and friendly. Reasonable value for the area, but wines were expensive, so best to go with beer - the own brand lager is good. Good communication from the booking team, but if you book, don't arrive early - the table is unlikely to be ready and the bar area was very busy, so we couldn't get a drink whilst waiting. Tables are fairly close together, so get ready to be friendly with your neighbouring table!
Great customer service. Enjoyed the food. Thank you
Overall OK but some issues with service. 8 in my party, pre booked. Had to wait very long time for 3 of 8 drinks by which time we'd finished our starters... Waitress didn't respond very quickly when asked. Also 1 main course didnt arrive until 10 or more minutes after everyone elses and no one seemed bothered when we chased. Disappointing service as food nice when it arrived. Even though I accept it was busy, this should not happen. Service charge was automatically added to bill of £26.00... Despite known issues.... Save to say we didn't think service merited it and sadly no consideration given to us for the unacceptable delays with food and drinks. Such a shame because e I'd recommended this place for my party of freinds.
The service was poor waited more then 15 minutes between drinks and someone only come over 2 times to ask if we wanted more food and we was on a table for 5 of us. I have been there before but after this time i am not sure i would go back to the same one.
Went for bottomless brunch on Saturday.
Arrived a few minutes early but happy to wait at the bar with a drink. Unfortunately we were quite quickly forgotten about and had to remind the front desk staff that we were waiting.
Taken downstairs to a table in a very far away corner where my invisibility cloak worked incredibly well.
Had to ask 3 different waitresses if we could order. Food arrived long before drinks. Had to ask several different people for cutlery, and by the time this arrived our food was cold.
I had lobster and my husband had the "bottomless" BBQ. Waitress took away my food that I was still eating while I was in the bathroom. Husband asked 4 different people for another round of BBQ. Took 45 minutes to arrive, by which time we were up to the time limit on our table.
Took another 15 minute just to get the bill, which set us back £75. £75 for cold food and some of the poorest service in London.
Save your money and go elsewhere. Once bitten twice shy!
The food was worth the cost and the journey. I would go again
Waited for an hour for a table. Absolute chaos. No one knew what was happening. Was told to keep coming back to the staff to check if our table was ready. Very poor.
Have dined here many times... But think they now overbook too much and means the customers are not getting the service they should.
Then we sat at a table downstairs... Extremely cramped. Not comfortable.
Food was great however. Just needed to be in a different place to enjoy it.
Shan't be going back which is a shame.
Paid £80 and left hungry. Was brought the wrong drink twice and told it was the drink I ordered and maybe I just didn’t like the taste - when I knew it was the wrong drink. Had to leave and get food elsewhere as we were still hungry. Also acted annoyed when we didn’t order dessert and told us we had to leave if we didn’t order dessert. Won’t be back and will advise friends to stay away! Overrated and overpriced restaurant.
This was my first Big easy experience, it is a great place to visit for a casual date night, dinner or drinks with friends and definitely a must when you are hungry. We had the popcorn shrimp and grill food. However, I saw the Lobster on the table next to me and felt really jealous. Thanks to our waitress during the evening she was really nice and very entertaining too!
