Ive been going big easy for years.....but what a let down it was this time, reason being the food was brought out fast and was Luke warm! Look I'm all for fast service but literally to bring out my food like it was barely cooked was quite worrying! i usually love the covent garden one for its ambience and setting, but really felt like it was missing something, here's hoping next time it will be alot better!
Food was okay. Not great value for money, but a nice atmosphere. Waiter tried to give us our main courses before the starters, but apologised later about the mixup. There was a bit of complaining around us before we got our food, but we didn't have anything wrong with our food choices except that we should've ordered less! All the staff were pleasant and a Caribbean sounding man on the way out left a nice impression.
Amazing food and as always amazing service :) cannot wait to go back!
The food was good, plentiful and well presented. I think there was a staff change during our meal and unfortunately we sat with dirty plates for 30 mins and no offer of a dessert menu. When we eventually got a staff members attention for the dessert menu they did not come back to us to take our order. However the dessert menu was very boring and uninspired so we just paid the bill and went elsewhere for pudding.
much better than we thought it would be will be back to experience it all again
The food was ok but the customer service was poor.
Took ages to get served and the wrong drinks came twice
It’s a nice restaurant but the experience was spoiled a little by drunk people on the table next to us who sprayed our table in Champagne. The main waiter was very friendly but found it hard to understand English so we had a few issues with our order. All the issues were resolved satisfactorily and the food was lovely. I liked the Manager…he seemed very responsive.
Lobster was great but no ice cream or coffee choice available
The food was nice, but the staff did not explain what was included as the complimentary drink and overcharged us for that.
The service was terrible. Our waiter looked like he didn’t want to be in working and was quite blunt. We waited over half hour to get the bill, after several attempts at trying to get attention.
Large crowd of young men being overall loud and swearing.
No one asked them to calm/control their noise level.
Band was exceptionally loud... too loud, couldn't hear my partner.
Fabulous staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Food was generous and the live band complemented the evening!
The service was good especially as it was very busy
The food was good although the Caesar salad dressing was “strange”
Overall good experience live music good too
Be warned portions are quite big
So careful off ordering too much
Usually very good but this time we were let down by the food.
Food was good, hot, tasty, quick to arrive. The maitre de was stressed which impacts staff.
My partner and I enjoyed a really good experience here. Excellent service
Excellent experience even though it was extremely busy the staff were amazing!!
Food is amazing all cooked perfectly. Waiting staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely book again .
Food was good and reasonably priced but we were sat to the left hand side of the ground level bar and felt quite forgotten about - no cutlery brought over, drinks orders having to be chased after a considerable wait and we sat for nearly 20 minutes with our finished dinner plates in front of us. I’ve eaten here many times before when attending west end shows and never been sat in that area (which felt disconnected from the main restaurant areas usual buzzing atmosphere) Nor have I experienced service as poor as it was on our visit. As always, the food was great tasting and good value for money but I won’t be rushing back, unfortunately!
No band on for a Saturday evening but still a great ambiance and great food!
Great atmosphere, amazing food, very tasty and they don’t skimp on portions. The ribs are THICK, some of the juiciest, tastiest smoked meats I’ve ever had!
Great food and drink, if you are going for a chat forget it, lively atmosphere
Staff were very attentive and polite. Some of the food could have been a little warmer but overall, very well presented, great portion size and very tasty!! Thank you
Table wasn't ready at 3pm, we sat down at 3.18, felt like we was a pest asking for more drinks, waiter wasn't friendly at all. Was given the bill and rushed at the end as they wanted table back but as we sat down late we wasn't over the 2 hours!!
Everyone we spoke to was friendly & helpful. Enjoyed the brunch option which was served in good time, lovely venue
Overall a great brunch, food was really good.
Just a couple of points - we asked for a jug of water but didn’t get one at all! The banquette seat I sat on was ripped back to the foam. This wasn’t nice to sit on.
If you’ve got the cash to splash, this is the place to go.
Worst run and managed restaurant I have been to.
Smelly area we we sat and had our food
Dishes and cutlery clattering
Like sitting in the kitchen
The lady that served us was real good.
I tried not to make to much of the poor reviews I read, but they were all right, bad toilets. Food was band average steak like rubber!!
The manager on duty made no effort what so ever to listen to my complaints and try to accommodate us to better seating area
He needs a real lesson in customer service,
But guess what that won’t happen,
Staff were really attentive & food was good. We sat downstairs and it was very busy & the tables for 2 they really like to cram in which isn’t very nice. They do this at the Bluewater one too
I went to Big Easy on Friday night with my boyfriend for date night.
Our plan was to stay for the happy hour drinks then head out for dinner elsewhere, but we were having such a good time we ended up staying for longer and having food there. Great service, drinks, food just everything really.
The band started playing at around 7 and they were awesome, great vibe in there.
We unfortunately had to leave as they had someone booked just after us which was a shame, I could’ve stayed there all night having the ribs and frozen margaritas.
Excited to go back soon!!!
Arrived on time but were directed to the bar as our table was not ready.
25 minutes later we asked if the table was ready & were told that we had been marked as a no show & that the table had been given to someone else….?
Waiting staff were very good, front of house & bar staff not so much.
Good food and attentive service. Outstanding live music. Huge portions but prices to match.
Excellent food. Tables were very close and it was very noisy. Still a lovely experience
Good food but left waiting for our table and then had to chase a waitress for drinks/ service.
Excellent food and it was made into a great experience! I highly recommend a lobster 🦞👏🏻
I used to frequent the Chelsea original back in the day, like 10-15 years ago. I needed to find a location for a team dinner in central and was pleased to find a branch in Covent Garden.
It was DIRE.
The 'Voodoo Prawns' which, in Chelsea, used to be jumbo, juicy prawns in a light tempura batter, were now deep fried, breadcrumbed and dehydrated. Horrendous and sad.
We ate at 2pm, but despite that, when the platters arrived - the pulled pork look like it had been sat around for hours. The chicken was dry and the ribs fatty and disgusting. Please don't come here expecting US-style bbq - it's nothing of the sort.
Nothing was fresh and most of what we ate was deep fried and dark brown.
Drinks and food were VERY expensive. The only saving grace was the service, which was very good.
All in all, I'd suggest to avoid - an overpriced tourist trap.
All food ordered had fantastic flavour.
Staff really friendly and polite.
Went to the Covent Garden restaurant from my
Everything great. Only complaint was that they didn’t have sausages for the “Big Pig Gig” but didn’t tell us when we ordered. We had to query it but I feel this should have been mentioned at ordering.
I remember when this restaurant was at its peak and you couldn’t even get a booking.
The toilets were absolutely disgusting. No excuses.
The food is average and I could tell it’s not all fresh.
Cannot fault the staff in any way and I’m sure covid has played a role but overall disappointed.
