Bilas Tandoori Ratings and Reviews
Our family have been coming to the Bilas to eat for the past 20 years, delicious food, great service and good value for money, we celebrate most of our family birthdays and special occasions here and always look forward to it, even the children do. We loved the fresh mango that we had for dessert.
Me and a few friends went here for my birthday and it was a fantastic evening! The service was exceptional and the food was amazing! We come here quite often to eat and have never once been disappointed with whatever we have ordered. Whats more the staff went out of their way to make it an extra special birthday so thank you Bilas, we will definitely be coming back soon! :)
My partner and I absolutely love Bilas Tandoori. We used to go there all the time when we lived in the area, and have sinced moved about 6/7 miles away, yet we always make the effort to drive that bit further to go back fo dining in or to collect our takeaway, rather than more local restaurants.
We often meet up with a large group of friends there, and the service is great, always friendly and helpful. They can never do enough for you. It is great value for money, especially banquet nights on Thursdays - £10.95 for so much yummy food, it's a nice atmosphere & family friendly.
I would highly reccomend Bilas to everyone!! The food is simply delicious! Even as I'm writing this I'm fancying a Bilas curry haha! X
Three of us had an excellent meal at the Bilas one evening last week. We were immediately made welcome by the friendly, helpful and attentive waiters. The table had a wide selection of dips waiting with a few different ones to the normal mango chutney, all freshly made. The menu is extensive and the dishes we ordered...a balti dansak, a chicken jalfreizi and a tandoori chicken masala were all piping hot with tender chicken and fresh spices. The fruity peshwari naan was also delicious. We were given a digestive with our bill and some chocolates! The owner came to ask how our meal was.....a very enjoyable evening and some of the best indian food I have ever tasted.
We have been coming to Bilas Tandoori for years. We occasionally try other Indian restaurants in the area but we have never found another that we like as much. The Thursday night banquet is outstandingly good value. The food is always of a high standard and the service is excellent, and we like the decor (modern take on traditional). We shall definitely be returning.
We went to Bilas on the basis of the very good reviews it has online and were slightly disappointed. Bilas is a perfectly good indian restaurant. The food is good but not outstanding, the prices are extremely reasonable and the service is good. It's not really much more than that, however, and the 5-star reviews on toptable and elsewhere really give the impression that it's something that it's not. For example, the dessert menu is clearly just a standard cookie-cutter selection of pre-prepared bought-in ice-creams: standard in a certain class of indian restaurant but not the kind of thing that you'd expect in a really good establishment.
When we arrived the reaustaurant was not full. We were just taken to our table and left. Itwas 10-15 minutes before we were offered the customary drinks, menu and popadums. Our our order was not taken for another 20 minutes and took over 30 miin to arrive. By this time everyone in the restaurant was waiting for a meal, yet, a constant stream of takeaways had had been collected. No-one seemed tpo be in charge or to be trying to resolve the problems and the waiters were running in all directions.
The food was good but don't go on a busy night.
