All-around fantastic restaurant. My favorite place to eat at; especially, for brunch! I always recommend the Bird Creole Benedict to new people I bring, and they love it.
Went twice. Really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Shrimp and grits were really good. My son had the red fish and he really liked it. Daughter had the catfish and it was crispy and fresh. Finished off dinner with Apple Crisp. Loved the Apple Crisp so much that we went back the next night.... wait for it...
They ran out! I know! Bad planning, high demand? Who knows. It was a bad experience. The place wasn’t packed so I’m not sure what happened and it’s not a special.
Otherwise, the spot was ok
We enjoyed a delicious brunch last Sunday at the Bird Cafe. The waitstaff was friendly and helpful. The brunch menu offers fun and tasty twists on the favorites. I highly recommend the Badass Bacon Waffle.
Been here before and liked it but never knew they did brunch on the weekends. The breakfast food was great and there were so many fun options. Definitely a must do.
Still a special place to dine. A terrific combination of comfort foods and new, cutting edge recipes. A historic atmosphere and caring service makes the experience memorable.
Our dishes were divided between great and "just okay." Waffles were soggy but the Mother and Child reunion was delish, although the extra poached egg we requested came to the table late and cold. Burgers were tasty but overcooked. The Chicken and Waffles was declared delicious, however, the waffle portion was too small for the amount of chicken supplied. We asked for extra waffle and it was reflected on the bill. Our server was friendly and professional. This was our second visit to the restaurant and will probably try again.
Went to performance at Bass Hall. Great time.
The brunch menu was very limited. The food was average
I like Bird Cafe. The food is eclectic and tasty, they were however out of a dish that I really wanted. The steaks are amazing, and my friends loved their redfish. Ambiance is very nice, as is the decor.
A disappointing experience. Waiter was not attentive. One of our meals was great (redfish) but the char was over cooked. We will be back but overall Bird Cafe is a nice place to go but there are others in Sundance that are better.
Once the waiter took the check he stopped waiting on us. And another had to take care of us.
Only complaint is not many low carb options
We enjoy sitting outside on half-price Mondays. Not exceptionally crowded on a spectacular Texas February day. Love this place...
Food was delicious as always, though the honey/bread tray breads were a tad on the dry side (too much over-warming?) And it would have been helpful if the waiter had shared that the pie was a LOT for 2 people. Finally, it was fairly chilly in there, so food got cold fast.
Perfect patio dining. Service and food were excellent!
We enjoyed our Sunday Brunch with friends.
Our server took great care of us and the food was great.
I was expecting more. I took my bride for Valentines and based on reviews, chose the Bird Cafe over other options. 1st of all, items mentioned in reviews were not on the menu and that was a little frustrating. They had a Valentines menu and our server made every attempt to sell us on those items instead of ordering off the traditional menu. The long bone pork chop was nothing to really write home about. The deviled eggs were bland and did not match the pics by any stretch. That said, my wife had the shrimp and grits with jalapeno gravy and they were some of the best she has had. The cherry port pie and bread pudding were excellent as well. Overall, not chomping at the bit to go back or initiate a conversation one way or the other.
Strated off with the Pour Some (Brown) Sugar on Me and my wife had the French Pear/Adigm. Also had a New Deal Old Fashioned. All the drinks were perfectly balanced and complemented the meal. Charbroiled oysters for an appetizer were delicious. My wife had Steak Frites and I had a featured Black Angus Strip. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and were amazing. The cherry pie topped with vanilla ice cream for dessert was fabulous. Service was great.
Our server was awesome. It was our first time at the restaurant and she explained all the menu and her recommendations. Very attentive. Food was delish
The steak honestly was a let down for the price.
The food as well as customer service was absolutely stellar.
Hostesses were rude and unaccommodating. Despite an empty restaurant, it took nearly 20 minutes before a server helped us. After finally being helped by our server, he was friendly and apologetic. The manager took care of the bill and was extremely professional. Food was impressive.
Our first time here and it was pleasant. The brunch menu food portions were small and were ok as far as flavor goes. The chicken and waffles were no different than anywhere else, the Bloody Mary drink had too much horseradish. I’d like to give it another try maybe for lunch or dinner.
Our server was excellent! The food was delicious as always too. We did have a slight issue was some guests who got a bit rowdy in the bar.
Amazing place to eat.
We are frequent visitors from Dallas that come here on weekends at time and we are never disappointed. Absolutely wonderful and service was amazing. Food was amazing and coffee always fresh and delicious.
It was very quiet. Didn’t need to make a reso honestly, but did and we were treated very well. Except the hostess didn’t read the notes that this was a birthday reservation and this is our favourite brunch spot that we will willingly drive from Dallas to dine at. So that was disappointing. Other than that. Everything was okay. Server was great.
The service was really uneven. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and we were pushed to order our dinner very shortly after we were seated. My wife's soup was not warm at all. Overall we were disappointed. It's sister in Dallas, The Meddlesome Moth, is much better.
Awesome food & location
Excellent brunch spot. The food is great, some standards along with some new creative additions whenever we visit. Good cocktails, the carafes are very worthwhile.
Loved the food and our server was awesome - his name was Zach!
This was my first time dining at Bird Cafe and it was a nice experience. I went there for brunch and look forward to going back for dinner. Keleyn, our waiter was very pleasant and made our first time there an enjoyable culinary experience! The French press coffee is wonderful.
This was my second time eating at the Bird Cafe, and I came back because it was so good the first time! And I was not disappointed. The Rabbit pot pie was delicious and so filling. And that was after the cheese spread appetiser and the warm salad. Everything was exceptional, including the service. I will be back. :)
Took forever to get our food. Coffee is weak and peculiar. Derek was a great server but again, the wait time was pretty poor. Overall, our experience was just okay.
Food and service was great!! Bloody Mary was amazing!!
Great food and service. Also enjoyed the design and architecture of the building.
