Bistro 5 is for me the best place in Massachusetts. For the best service and best quality food. Menu is always so full of organic chooses.
Everything was amazing, food, wine, service, ambience. I can’t believe we are just finding this place!
It was a fantastic experience, everything from the greeting when we walked in till the time we left could not have been better. Our server that was professional and attentive. The food was tremendous from the tasty to the presentation. I plan on going back many more times
My friend and I had a 6:45 reservation on March 8. We were seated promptly and took advantage of the bread and hummus placed on the table. The initial service was a little slow but once we put our orders in, things ran very smoothly. My calamari was wonderful-not chewy, not greasy, very tasty. Gnocchi was a nice treat and the creme brulee was deelish. Good value meal with a comfortable ambience!
always a enjoyable. the food and service excellent - it is my favorite ever dining out choice... never disappointed
Excellent food and service! We enjoyed every dish we ordered, especially the grilled salmon and gnocchi.
Went there for girls night out and shared our selections allowing us to taste more items.
The portions where perfect for sharing and everything was Delish!
The service was excellent. Ambiance inside the restaurant is really nice. It’s distracting but fun to count all the trains going by.
Great food and impressive service.
Nice little neighborhood place with cosy seating, a nice central bar, and a brightly-lit kitchen open to the main restaurant. Friendly staff, a variety of signature cocktails, and flavorful dishes. We'll definitely go here again!
Wonderful birthday celebration
Our waiter was very patient and professional and of course the food is always delicious.
The Duck Duo appetizer is unbelievable! The "1999" Milanese is awesome as well!
Lovely Valentine’s treat for our family of 6 adults. The food is delicious. We had the wine pairing to go with the Valentines special menu. The pairings were spot on. Our waitress was great but had a lot of tables to look after, which is why I put the service at a 4. Not cheap but worth it. Loved it.
Food was outstanding, the menu had unique twist on dishes and the service was fantastic. would definitely recommend if you are in the area!
We were really looking forward to having our Valentine's dinner here but were terribly disappointed. I ordered he shrimp appetizer for my entree and although the sauce was delicious, the shrimp were overcooked. The beet & pear salad was a good idea & basically ok but we felt there was too much salt and not enough food on the plate for $13. My husband ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms but for him there was too much truffle oil & the gnocchi were too dense rather than light & fluffy. The waitress was great & took off that off our bill... I thoroughly enjoyed my martini & the bread!
I loved my first time at Bistro5 and will definitely be back! Our meals were amazing and the ambience was really comfortable
Excellent food and service and ambiance. We hadn't been in around 15 years and tried it again a month ago. It was very good. We recently went again and it was terrific.
Always a wonderful experience. Party of two started with duck duo (hard to pass this up - it's so creamy & delicious), shared a dish of olives and chicken paté. One of us had the roast chicken entree with crispy skin chicken & Brussels sprouts, delicata squash, in a light pomegranate vinaigrette. The chicken is so moist with perfect crispy skin. The other person had the veal Milanese with mashed potato, porcini sauce and baby arugula and shaved mushroom. The veal was a generous portion and had a lovely pistachio crust - tender on the inside and the crust was a perfect accompaniment.
Service was impeccable - everyone is attentive without being cloying and water glasses get filled without interrupting conversation.
Great place for a special occasion or a date or for just a lovely meal.
Went for the time, will definitely be back. Would recommend.
Ambiance: very cute modern bistro. The dinning room is tight, but not cramped. Even in a packed dinning room near the bar, I could easily have a conversation.
Service: server was friendly and knowledgeable. We had food allergies and were very accommodating.
Food: solid, reasonable sized portions at lower price point than you might find elsewhere.
We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday specifically as all our previous experiences have been great - yet not tonight. We arrive early and were asked to wait a few minutes for our table. We were happy to do so, yet while we were at the bar waiting 2 other parties of 2 arrived within 5 minutes of us and were immediately sat at tables. We would have been fine with this had we not been sat at the worst table in the house. We sat at a 2 top right next to the bar and staff were hanging at that corner of the bar all night. We have been seated at this table in the past and it has been fine, yet tonight was different. Maybe partly due to the fact that the other parties that arrived after us had much better seating. Maybe it was the fact that staff were lingering at this section of the bar more so tonight. I’m not sure, yet as a waitress/bartender, I understand the need to fill all space and have it work for the establishment and the customer. Yet tonight it didn’t work for either.
The food was wonderful, yet the drinks were sub-par, requiring us to say something (which we never do). The waitress rebuffed our comments and somewhat guilted my husband to keep his drink - I got a different drink as it really wasn’t what we ordered. And the table was far from adequate. We made this reservation over a week in advance and yet we were relegated to the worst table in the restaurant. Honestly we would have been better off if we were able to stay at the bar where we were asked to wait for “our table”. I’m disappointed as we have always felt that Bistro 5 was a “guaranteed” good dining experience - definitely not the case tonight.
And I never post reviews (good or bad) yet I was really upset by tonight’s experience.
Wonderful food and fabulous service... the makings of a lovely evening.
Delicious craft cocktails and scrumptious food from the ricotta to the mascarpone!!!
Friendly staff, great atmosphere and food was superb. Definitely a favorite place for dinner.
Owner/ Chef Vittorio Ettore and his team do a great job. Bistro 5 venison burger was outstanding . We are also fans of his Winchester restaurant, A Tavola .
Very excellent food and custom cordials. It was a cold night and so it was a bit chilly overall. Appetizers were small, a bit uninspired, and overpriced. The entrees however, were truly excellent and inspired.
Second visit - didn’t disappoint - worth the trip from Boston
You will always be treated like you are most important when you go. you will always get a great meal.
I have heard of this restaurant for yrs. and went expecting a nice experience. It was overpriced, portions were tiny, and some of the ingredients mentioned in the menu were missing in the dishes. We could hear our neighbors as if they were at our table, the curtain didn't dampen the noise. The server was very good, but unfortunately didn't match the rest of our experience. I will not return or recommend this restaurant.
The food was of good quality, and visually impressive, but all three entrees (veal, chicken and scallop) were rather bland and needed more seasoning. The service was very good, when service was provided, but there were large periods of time when we waited for someone to check in with us. (We dined early, but there seemed to be a lack of help on what turned out to be a busy Friday night so I suspect that the table service got worse as the evening progressed.) What had the potential to be a fine dining experience turned out to be mediocre at best.
A wonderful place for NYEve... casual yet elegant, with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere.
We come here for special occasions. The service is always so good and we feel very taken care of. The food is still excellent after all these years, still inventive, and the wine recommendations from the wait staff always on target.
We were a party of 5, celebrating a birthday. We all had cocktails that were delicious, original and complex. They have a large selection of cocktails. We had calamari, anchovies and a mushroom bread for appetizers. The portions were good size and everything was delicious. The calamari was some of the lightest and best we’ve ever had. For dinner we ordered the scallops on pumpkin risotto, gnocchis and a veal dish. The food was perfectly cooked and every bite was delicious. The risotto had layers of wonderful flavors. Our waiter was outstanding - wish I knew his name to give him a special mention. Between our waiter and the bartender who was also waiting on tables we were well cared for. We’ve eaten here before and will certainly be back. Bistro 5 is a real gem.
My husband and I have been dining at Bistro 5 since opened. It is our first choice for our wedding anniversary and when guests visit. Saturday night's meal fell far below the standard we associate with this fine restaurant.
The presentation of the scallops in the pumpkin risotto was utterly unappetizing and frankly, messy; my salmon was
overdone and the pane cotta special dessert was underwhelming, both in taste and presentation. The duck duo appetizer was, however, exquisite. Our waiter was wonderful. Perhaps the kitchen staff wasn't the A team that night? Paula Plum
Food was delicious and service attentive. We each had the scallops which were delicious. The noise level was fine although the restaurant was only half full when we were there.
Everything was wonderful but the food was very salty. I like salt, but still!!
The vegan in the group got a chef’s choice which he loved. The rest of us had a hard time deciding what to have: so many delicious choices!
Going to B 5 is an “event”. I usually don’t like going to Italian restaurants because I can make anything I order at home, and usually we can do a better job at home. B5 is an amazing experience. I could cook NONE of it at home, it is amazing, and the service is always exceptionally professional.
We are regulars, and love everything about Bistro 5 - inventive food, beautifully executed and presented. Stellar service.
