Delicious food, excellent service. It’s always a pleasure to go to Bistro Union. Loved the monkfish
a great evening. great ambiance, service, food; all in; a lovely night out- looked after by caring helpful people who seemed to delight in their guests pleasure and enjoyment.
As always the BU team are lovely, welcoming to young and old and attentive without being intrusive. A favourite of ours! Suzi Smith
Went for Sunday brunch with three teenagers. Waited 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive then our food arrived in drive and drabs. The waitress used the excuse that they had had an influx of diners. The place was half empty. Disappointing.
Delicious food and excellent service.
I love bistro union and I eat her quite often with my husband. The food is of excellent quality and the staff are always friendly without been intrusive. My only gripe is the brunch menu. The fry up is delicious but ever since they changed the sausages to pigs in blanket, I don't enjoy it. The sauagses are barely brown and generally of very pale colour. I know there cooked but they just don't look it nor is the texture the same. I then moved off the fry and there is not much choice that does not have egg in it as the main. The other day I had to devise my own, one slice of toast, avocado, bacon and tomato which cost £11, however it would be £8 if I could have bought off the extra's but was unable to do so. It was tasty though. I'm struggling here guys as I know the quality is good. My husband also enjoys it which is why I continue to go. I just wish you would increase the brunch choice and not to be so egg orientated. A simple bacon/sausage sandwich would be a start or bring back normal fried sausages.
We had a very enjoyable meal at Bistro Union. The menu is not huge, but there is decent range to choose from, and all dishes that we had were very good. The staff were very friendly - attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere was also pleasant, somewhere between cathedral & lively! Price, including drinks, was ~£50/head, which isn't too bad for the type of food we had in this area.
Lovely restaurant with great service and food my only complaint was the steak was a bit fatty.
Amazing food. Real overly simple menu with not too many choices so you can feel confident that they’re all fresh and well made
Service was friendly, full English was served in a cute little pan and tasted good.
Nothing memorable - slow service and average food. Nice if it’s around the corner but I wouldn’t go there especially.
I saw an item on your menu "Swaledale sirloin" and since Swaledale is a breed of sheep and sirloin is a cut of beef, I was confused what this actually was, and so were your staff! I thought they should have been a little better informed!
Really delicious food - potted chicken terrine, pollock with cockles and seaweed, fat juicy mussels, gnocchi with mushrooms - all excellent!
Staff as always super friendly and helpful.
Amazing Easter Sunday lunch! Rack of lamb was Devine!! Really something to rave about. Great friendly relaxed service, amazing food, can’t fault it, looking forward to my next visit.
Bistro Union has been consistently very good indeed. The food is wonderful, the ambience excellent and the service prompt and friendly. I thoroughly recommend this place, which is sure to provide a lovely lunch or dinner in very pleasant surroundings !
Great service and food was delicious!
Great local spot for anything from a cocktail at the bar to a long, lazy lunch
Very good food and lovely atmosphere - we will go again!
First time we had been here, really nice location and nice inside too. Great informal and relaxed dining with good service.
Always fantastic. Service is lovely and staff are great, food is perfect for any occasion, and it just has a really good vibe.
Had a wonderful meal at Bistro Union on Saturday. Extremely knowledgeable and unobtrusive waitress who was able to advise and help with our food and drink choices. The cocktails were excellent and the banana bread and butter pudding exceptional.
We were really well looked after by the staff. In fact, our guy was amazing. He enticed us to try the blood orange margaritas which were amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. The place has a real buzz to it and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will be back very soon!!
Great restaurant. Reliable , quality produce. However, portion sizes seem to have shrunk by about 50% since opening but prices remain the same. Please BU bring back the decent portion sizes!
Continues to hit it out of the park every time
Great british food served with finesse in a lovely local setting.
Great food, service and staff were very attentive. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Great food and service! I mean great! Restaurant small and intimate - on Friday when full quite noisy! That though minor - good the star! Go there :-)
Our meal was an excellent experience all-round. Great food, attentive staff, and pleasant atmosphere. I would certainly recommend the restaurant, and already have. I look forward to my next visit!
We went here for Valentines Day. We did not select the Valentines Menu, but opted for A La Carte. This restaurant is local to us, so we go there regularly. When we did not like the table reserved for us (near the door on a cold night) the Manager did everything to move us to a better table. Much appreciated. Excellent service and good food, as always.
It was much different than typical sunday roast as crisps instead of roasted potatoes and no yorkshire pudding. It was recommended by timeout that's why i visited for a roast and was slightly disappointed. Great service though and atmosphere.
Very cosy restaurant. Food was tasty with good portions. A very civilised experience.
The food, service and ambience were all 'nice' but not quite good enough for these prices sorry.
Great service and good food - plus no loud music to annoy the oldies among us!
Okay for a quick meal at a local eatery.
Excellent brunch on Sunday, friendly and helpful staff. Really good quality food
Back after just one week. Good choices and very friendly team. Great idea to have a Sunday evening BYO.
Tasty food on an ever changing menu and a delicious choice of wine. Very attentive service (maybe almost too much).
Good Local restaurant with seasonal specials.
Sister restaurant of Trinity in Clapham, good relaxed atmosphere, friendly and professional staff.
Great service and nice atmosphere . Sadly the problem was the food. Used to be great but basically every single fish was massively under seasoned, not to say bland . In every dish each of us ordered there was basically no salt whatsoever . Which is a shame because you could see prime ingredients sort of wasted ; the lack of salt applied even to triple cooked chips ( normally I do not add salt to them , but in this occasion I had to ) and the home made mayo . The wine we ordered was a great Riesling bottle from Germany . We ordered the pie for 2 people to share , the mussels as main and as starter and the duck egg and chorizo .., apart from the mussels everything was either flavourless or salt less ( or both ) . Our friend joined us later and ordered the cod as main and a side of whitebait ... she also added salt to everything including the home made dip coming with the bait .. hope they change chef soon as it is a tragedy to see a nice place like this to be let down by the cooking
Great food. The restaurant is only let down by a crap wine list...
