Always fantastic. Service is lovely and staff are great, food is perfect for any occasion, and it just has a really good vibe.
Had a wonderful meal at Bistro Union on Saturday. Extremely knowledgeable and unobtrusive waitress who was able to advise and help with our food and drink choices. The cocktails were excellent and the banana bread and butter pudding exceptional.
We were really well looked after by the staff. In fact, our guy was amazing. He enticed us to try the blood orange margaritas which were amazing! The food was absolutely delicious. The place has a real buzz to it and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We will be back very soon!!
Great restaurant. Reliable , quality produce. However, portion sizes seem to have shrunk by about 50% since opening but prices remain the same. Please BU bring back the decent portion sizes!
Continues to hit it out of the park every time
Great british food served with finesse in a lovely local setting.
Great food, service and staff were very attentive. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Great food and service! I mean great! Restaurant small and intimate - on Friday when full quite noisy! That though minor - good the star! Go there :-)
Our meal was an excellent experience all-round. Great food, attentive staff, and pleasant atmosphere. I would certainly recommend the restaurant, and already have. I look forward to my next visit!
We went here for Valentines Day. We did not select the Valentines Menu, but opted for A La Carte. This restaurant is local to us, so we go there regularly. When we did not like the table reserved for us (near the door on a cold night) the Manager did everything to move us to a better table. Much appreciated. Excellent service and good food, as always.
It was much different than typical sunday roast as crisps instead of roasted potatoes and no yorkshire pudding. It was recommended by timeout that's why i visited for a roast and was slightly disappointed. Great service though and atmosphere.
Very cosy restaurant. Food was tasty with good portions. A very civilised experience.
The food, service and ambience were all 'nice' but not quite good enough for these prices sorry.
Great service and good food - plus no loud music to annoy the oldies among us!
Okay for a quick meal at a local eatery.
Excellent brunch on Sunday, friendly and helpful staff. Really good quality food
Back after just one week. Good choices and very friendly team. Great idea to have a Sunday evening BYO.
Tasty food on an ever changing menu and a delicious choice of wine. Very attentive service (maybe almost too much).
Good Local restaurant with seasonal specials.
Sister restaurant of Trinity in Clapham, good relaxed atmosphere, friendly and professional staff.
Great service and nice atmosphere . Sadly the problem was the food. Used to be great but basically every single fish was massively under seasoned, not to say bland . In every dish each of us ordered there was basically no salt whatsoever . Which is a shame because you could see prime ingredients sort of wasted ; the lack of salt applied even to triple cooked chips ( normally I do not add salt to them , but in this occasion I had to ) and the home made mayo . The wine we ordered was a great Riesling bottle from Germany . We ordered the pie for 2 people to share , the mussels as main and as starter and the duck egg and chorizo .., apart from the mussels everything was either flavourless or salt less ( or both ) . Our friend joined us later and ordered the cod as main and a side of whitebait ... she also added salt to everything including the home made dip coming with the bait .. hope they change chef soon as it is a tragedy to see a nice place like this to be let down by the cooking
Great food. The restaurant is only let down by a crap wine list...
The fish pie was good. However, with the liver I felt the portion could have been bigger, especially as it did not include vegetables. I also felt that with a restaurant that is not particularly cheap, bread should have been included. However, service was good, no loud music and overall a good place to meet up with friends.
Had heard great things, but experience did not match expectations, unfortunately. The staff seemed over-stretched and service was quite slow as a result. Despite our food arriving on a piping-hot plate, in a hot frying pan, most of the components were actually lukewarm. The ingredients were delicious - and our carafe of Vermentino was great - but overall a bit disappointed. Won’t be rushing back.
Always a pleasure to dine at Bistro Union!
Very nice staff and excellent food - un regale!
Poor value- paid £24 for a very poor steak- no seasoning whatsoever, poor quality meat and 7 chips! This is not good value.
Ordered red and white wine and had to choose another wine in both cases as the ones I chose were out of stock
Wonderful and creative menu and the food delicious. Service is excellent. First time back in a while and everything as good as I remembered. Worth a visit and reasonable prices too.
Not terrible, but generally a slightly underwhelming experience. Service friendly enough, but relatively slow and inattentive. Some of the food was pretty mediocre - especially the overcooked toad in the hole. I had booked it for a special occasion on the basis of it being sister restaurant of Trinity (which is excellent), so maybe my expectations were just too high. I wouldn't go back.
Drinks service a bit slow, ordered white wine for starters which sat on the bar waiting to be delivered to us for 5-10 mins by which time starters virtually finished. Had to actually go up to bar staff and ask them to bring it over. So when starters came (beef) and we got our red wine we had to rush to finish the white. But staff v friendly and great food.
Dinner was a mixed bag overall - starter of squash soup was great, but the bavette steak was a disappointment and the dessert (greengage fool) was just okay, the sides of triple cooked chips & broccoli were good though. The bill was pretty steep at over £120 per couple but the restaurant atmosphere was buzzing, so overall a nice evening out. Not sure we would rush back soon though.
We had a bit of nearly everything.
Chorizo esp good.
Great tapas and friendly staff too.
All of us in the group have declining hearing, there's a lot of background noise to talk over. But that's not unusual.
Very good service. Good place to eat.
Great service, superior cooking for a bistro, and looked after the dog beneath the table with water
This is now one of my favourites in London. Fresh produce and staff are really friendly.
Staff were brilliant and food was outstanding. Will definitely visit again
Good brunch menu, Fantastic service - our group left very happy!
Very nice environment, tasty starters and a great table wine. Portions are a all little on the mean size.
As usual this was another solid visit to Bistro Union, my only criticism was the staff were a little slow. It was Sunday and we were fairly relaxed but it was not as slick as other visits. Food was great and lovely Bloody Mary's!!
Let us postpone the booking despite lots of interest and requests from others for the table. Dog friendly.
Couldn't recommend Bistro Union enough - brilliant food & great staff.
