Marinated and charcoal grilled.
Twin Colorado lamb chops grilled to perfection.
Marinated and charcoal grilled.
Thank You for a awesome meal with impeccable service.
We enjoyed the dinner. Would recommend restaurant to everyone
Consistently good food. Reasonably priced.
It was a quiet night at the Black Olive, but the service was great, the food was excellent and this is always a good place to dine. The octopus was tender as was the calamari. The desserts were great too. You can't go wrong at the Black Olive.
Not a fine dining ace like Estia but the meals are every bit as good. The marinated then grilled octopus is sublime. Tzadtiki is awesome. Can't miss with this place.
Food was very good. I ordered lamb chops for an entree and they were out, which was fine, but it was 6:30 on Friday night. The lights were bright making the packed dinning room feel more like a cafeteria then a restaurant. Service was excellent and prices were good. Not sure if I will return but we did enjoy our dinner.
You don't have to be Greek to appreciate good food and they deliver at this restaurant. It was our first time visiting and we thought it was outstanding. I had the Plaki, fish in a red sauce with onions and it was excellent. Even if you don't normally order fish I would get this dish. My wife had the lamb chops and they were grilled and seasoned perfectly. And you bring your own wine...very good service here too. Highly recommended!!
I have always had excellent experiences at Black Olive! If you go, you have to have octopus, even if you don't think you like it! This spot is an excellent addition to the area.
I had the baked scrod over vegetables in a lemon wine sauce. The sauce was nice and light the way I like it. My wife had the chicken in a red wine sauce, which she enjoyed.
The service was spot on and I got extra Marriott points as it was part of a Marriott dine around town promotion. Plus it’s on the Voorhees card. All good reasons to build loyalty.
Service and food always excellent…and they have the best grilled octopus!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be returning.
Owner George is very friendly and accommodating. He comes to the table to greet you and make sure the food meets your expectation. The food is delicious and fresh. This is my new favorite restaurant!
Delicious grilled octopus. Wonderful spanikopita. Same for the stuffed eggplant. And relatively inexpensive.
A real gem.
I really like this place! The food ( grape leaves with sauce on the side, octopus as dinner and a lamb shank) were all very good and came in timely fashion. The woman who waited on us was excellent. She was very busy but made sure we were doing OK!
Always great fresh authentic food. With great service. Owner seems to always be there.
Once again had a lovely dining experience at a "local" favorite. Greek food is a local treat as there are very few if any greek restaurants in our area anymore.
The most excellent Greek food around!! A great selection of traditional Greek dishes prepared with such flavor and quality that it makes you want to go back time and again! The servers are kind and efficient!! Quiet ambiance- And it’s BYOB! Enjoy!!
We love this place for a quiet lunch or dinner alone or with the family. Food is good, prices more or less reasonable and the service is good. This is not a romantic place but a good place to have a good quality meal with family. We patronize this place for years. There are the same people there for years. We know them, they know us. Very nice local gem.
Great food & waiter
Very good and tasty male fresh And authentic
Amazing first experience dining here.. delicious flavors, subtle textures and perfect temperature… very nicely done. And the dining room was lovely!
Always have had a great meal at
Black Olive. Their tzatziki is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a bad meal there. We have the same sever every time and he’s awesome.
Best ever lamb shank. Can’t be outdone. Love
Had dinner here on August 10. This was our second time here. Here are the bad and good.
The wait staff have no idea what food is what because they are not Greek, and management has not trained them properly. If you’re going to hire non-Greeks, which is totally fine, you have to teach them the Greek menu. This is a management failure.
This is the second time we tried to order taramasolata in a two month period. The waiter said they have it, but he had no idea what it was, and just guessed. When we got the pikilia, it wasn’t included. He told us after the fact that it’s been discontinued months ago. First, why have it on the menu if it’s discontinued? Management at the very least should have the servers let the diners know they don’t have it. The better option, obviously, is to remove it from the menu. It’s now been on the menu for months after its has been permanently discontinued. Hard to understand. At some point management should have come to us to apologize and explain the situation. They never did.
The waiter did not bring us any water. At all. He admitted he was new. Again, this is a training failure. We still left a 25% tip because he was a young kid trying to make a buck. But he needs to be properly trained. The old restaurant saying is true - when the service is good, the food tastes better.
The lab chops and egg plant salad.
We went with friends to the Black Olive since they were always raving about the food there. We all ordered the Lamb Chops. The chef/owner came out with a different variety of lamb chops that he showed us before cooking and told us he couldn't get the one he usually uses. These were about 1 inch thick but looked okay so we all decided to get them. When they came out and we started to cut them, it was very tough. So tough that I couldn't even eat the meat from the bone and had to leave it. We complained to the waiter who in turn told the chef/owner. He came out and apologized for the way the meat came out but told us he wouldn't charge us for the dinner if we bought dessert and just paid for that which is what we did. I know my friends will be back but my husband isn't one for Greek food anyway and we don't live nearby and after this meal I don't expect he'll want to go back.
Visited for lunch. NEVER AGAIN. The waiter was unprofessional and the food was subpar. When I got home I called to speak w/the manager who was too busy to speak at the time. During the call the manager refused to give me his name, asked, “what do you want” and hung up mid conversation. If service is important to you this place will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Better option: Norma’s on 70.
Have not been back since before pandemic. Food and service still outstanding..
We had a great experience! The food was excellent!
All wonderful. Great food and friendly service. Reasonable prices…
Authentic Greek cuisine at reasonable prices. Excellent service and its BYOB. One of our favorites.
We come here often because the food is always very good. We would come here more but the table and chairs are small and very uncomfortable.
Party of 5. All thought the food was mediocre. Server needed more training also.
Always great food great service
The food is terrific. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It is very good value for the money.
The food is always excellent at the Black Olive. The service was great and we got special attention from the owner. It is nice to feel appreciated.
Wam bam thank you mam wanted a nice evening
Appetizers salad dinner deserts and coffee in and out in 35 minutes
The food was fantastic. We enjoyed every dish and appetizer.
I'm a long time customer of the Black Olive and love their food. Mother's Day was no exception. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful. The spanakopita was excellent and the shrimp were wonderful. The kitchen was backed up and the servers were a little frustrated, but it was to be expected. The Black Olive is always a great choice, but sometimes you just have to pack a little patience. It's worth it!
Always good. Great octopus!!
First and most importantly our server was subpar. When asked about a certain type of fish his reply was I don’t really like fish so I have no idea. When you work as a server you should have knowledge of everything on the menu whether you like it or not. You could tell that this guy really did not know what he was doing had no knowledge base of the food. When he brought out our meals he forgot who ordered what and would reach right across in front of you. My date ordered red snapper and spent half of the time picking bones out of her meal. Meanwhile, a gentleman I believe to be the owner and chef was sitting at the front Register watching my date pick bones out of her fish and never thought to say anything. Even the waiter saw her picking bones out of the fish and acknowledged shame but nothing was ever done about it. The food was moderately tasty. I will never spend another dollar in that restaurant again. Highly don’t recommend.
