went there for my 80th birthday, a bit concerned because the party consisted of 24 guests but it turned out to be a marvellous dining experience everybody had nothing but praise for the chef, the reception staff and the waitresses. nothing was too much trouble and we
cant wait for our 6oth wedding anniversary next year to go back again with same guests. All restaurants have their critics, but in my opinion the blackberry grove is a
first class restaurant and fully deserves all the praise it gets.

A limited but interesting menu. Excellent service. Furniture perhaps over rustic.

Having been very impressed with the write up and photos featured in Samphire magazine, we were happy to drive forty minutes from home to give Blackberry Grove a try. Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed when we arrived. Firstly, it is not easy to find and is not located on the busy sea front of New Brighton but on a rather sorry looking street. It was a Sunday when we visited and we were disappointed to discover a very limited menu consisting of either a roast dinner or a burger for £10.95. Although in theory, the tapas style Roast dinner sounds interesting and different, when the meal arrived it was all on one plate and lost any tapas feel and definitely not worth the £10.95 price tag. The Yorkshire puddings were also missing from our plate! The atmosphere was also lacking and it was very quiet inside.
The decor is lovely and the staff were friendly, however we left feeling particularly disappointed after such a great write up. Perhaps if you go for lunch or in the week you'd have a much more enjoyable time as the rest of the menu did sound very tasty - and very accommodating for those with food intolerances. In all, I wouldn't rush back to Blackberry Grove nor recommend it to a friend but if I happened to be in the area and fancied a spot of lunch other than fish and chips, I would possibly give it another try. 4/10.

What a great find! One of us is gluten free and it was a delight to have a full menu to chose from. Whatever the dietary requirements the food was excellent, service friendly and efficient and overall a lovely experience. We will be back!

Restaurant was nice but somehow our booking through open table had not got through to them! Fortunately they had room for us. Maybe would book directly next time.

Great vegetarian and vegan options, and non-vegetarian too which helps when organising a meal out with friends and their various diets!

Refreshing to find a vegetarian restaurant. The food was very tasty although I thought the grilled cauliflower starter was overpriced as it was a very small portion (4 very small florets). I think the room needs a fan as there was a fried food smell which was very off putting.
It had more of a café feel than a restaurant, it would help if there was a woodburner or something to make it feel more welcoming as it was a cold night. The waiter was fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. I would go again as I think the place has potential.
Falafel sliders were good.

We had reserved a table but was going to be late. Attempted to telephone to advise but phone just rang out. On arrival the manager found the phone had been switched off. No table had been reserved but the place was empty so no problem. Perhaps it would have been busier had the phone been switched on?

Strange menu to sit alongside the set Christmas menu as it didn't really explain what you would get on the plate (ie chips with the burgers).

We are locals and regulars so would go again but think BG need to become a little more professional in the front of house. x

first time at the Blackberry Grove for Sunday Lunch. The Roast lunch we had was lovely (gluten free Yorkshires were different) and the service was friendly and attentive (although we were not warned about the very hot dishes) and we had a good meal. The only down side was that we didn't find the seating very comfy - there are cushions scattered but not enough for everyone to use. Just one point, the lighting inside is subtle and can't be seen from outside the place so during the day it is hard to tell if it is open.

I booked a table for 8 people on a Wednesday evening, never having been to the Blackberry Grove before - one of our group was vegan & one was vegan and a Coeliac & there was nowhere else on the Wirral I could think of that would be able to accommodate this. When we arrived the table was not ready & the booking seemed to take the staff by surprise however they very quickly pushed two tables together for our party. There was a pub quiz in full swing which was unexpected however someone else in our group had seen on the website that this would be taking place - at first it seemed a little noisy but in the interval we took the opportunity to join in and this added an extra fun element to our evening. There was a Wed night offer on fish and chips but the fish had sold out so the same offer was applied to any burgers we ordered - as most of our party ordered burgers this was appreciated. The food was very good, the service was excellent (nothing was too much trouble) and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. Once the staff realised it was my son's birthday they brought him over a Blackberry Special cocktail on the house. I would definitely eat here again and am looking forward to trying the Sunday roasts which have been recommended by a friend. A small criticism was that the bread/oils/olive starter was disappointing/poor value - the olives were just the pitted black & green kind from a jar in brine. I would also suggest perhaps offering a vegan/vegetarian option on the dessert menu. Overall we had a lovely evening and I was very pleased with the decision to go there.

This place is very relaxed but with really good service. The food was very enjoyable and came well presented and there wasn't too long a wait.
Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is makes you feel at home. I'd definitely recommend/return.
