Every time I’ve dined here the service has been slow. It’s a shame as the food is fantastic
We enjoyed the delicious food and the service was pleasant and helpful.
We closed the restaurant down, and were not rushed.
Absolutely amazing just as written in most of the reviews. The food was very well prepared and delicious. The seafood stew and oysters were to dream for.
Great for Sunday brunch. The Bellini cocktail was awesome! The service was outstanding!
Service was excellent and inviting.
Food scrumptious and cooked well
Mac and cheese addictive!
First time visiting and very impressed. I had the 3 course express (Salad, enter and dessert) and my wife and her friend both had the prime rib special.
The Caesar salad 🥗 may have been the best I ever had and the rest of the meal was great!
Excellent meal and service as always! This is my go-to restaurant for business lunches as it is a short walk from my office. Love all the seafood dishes I’ve tried each time.
Love the choice on menu, homemade soups & desserts. Service is excellent!
Great ambience and quiet enough to have conversation with our guest. Service was outstanding.
Best brunch I have been too in a long time. Great food including the expansive raw bar and desserts! Oh, and fabulous Bloody Mary’s!
Black’s is one of my all time favorite. Actually any of the restaurants in their group are always excellent. Not sure why I stray.
Fantastic selection of oysters. Custom cocktails are great. Terrific wine list.
The mains never disappoint whether the full plates or choosing from the grill menu and adding tasty sides. FYI the Mac and Cheese...amazing, and don’t be stupid...add the bacon!
Nice restaurant with excellent service. Good wine selection. Good seafood offerings. Salads and dessert were mediocre. Apps and entrees interesting and well prepared. On the pricey side.
Louder than usual; we've been dining at Black's every few months for the past several years. Aside from that, the specials that night were fantastic and the service equally so. We'll be back again.
This was the first time I have been disappointed by a meal here. Hosted a lunch for 3, we Each had caesar salad topped with either salmon or catch of the day, which was red snapper. The salmon was dry and the piece of snapper was ridiculously small, maybe 1 1/2 inches square. Total for 3 salads was $75.90 which was excessive for the quality/quantity. This used to be a favorite dining choice, I was very disappointed.
Delicious food great food pleasant server
The food was at another level of taste and quality. I am very impressed. The entrance is deceiving. It belies the expectations. But the food is top shelf. I didn't fancy the ice cream but everything was top shelf. You should try it.
Black's remains one our favorite restaurants in the DC area. We frequent this establishment often because of the amazing service, superb dining options and spectacular drinks. Sunday brunch is outstanding and features a wealth of choices from an open raw bar to traditional breakfast items. We love this spot!
We had a family brunch and were so happy with everything! The food is excellent. The desserts were fine- not extraordinary. All else was wonderful
Semi last minute place but I am very glad that I found this restaurant. Was very pleased with the meal. Was sat on the bar side towards the end of the evening so it was loudish but not to the point of it being an issue. Food and drinks were good, our server Jasmine (sp) was excellent and very helpful. Will definitely return and will certainly recommend as a dining option.
We were seated promptly and had a delicious meal with friends.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day meal. A little pricey but great service and while noisy the restaurant has a warm ambiance. Cocktails were delicious and the charcuterie cheese platter was absolutely spectacular. Ordered the special of beet risotto and snapper. The beet risotto was AMAZING but the snapper was overcooked, dried out, and the texture of a boneless chicken breast. The waiter comped is a dessert, which was a lovely gesture. Sadly, the pecan pie had also suffered the fate of the snapper and was dry and over baked. All in all, I would definitely go back for another try, especially the charcuterie cheese platter.
We loved our experience here! Most definitely would recommend
Elegant yet welcoming restaurant. Amazing food, rapid and friendly service
First time at Black’s. Celebrating Valentine’s Day. Dinner was excellent. I had the Filet Mignon. Extremely tender with a wonderful sauce with a delicious combination of flavors from sautéed onions, a smattering of tiny fried onion rings with mushrooms and veggies.
My wife enjoyed a salmon dish which she absolutely loved.
We both had a different dinner salad prior to the main dish which was a substantial portion and quite enjoyable.
A wonderful wine selection and sides added to the pleasure of the dining experience.
The service couldn’t be better. The ambiance was one consistent with fine dining and the noise volume was not at all intrusive.
We would certainly recommend this restaurant and will return for more.
Valentine’s Day dinner. We had a terrific waiter who had great recommendations. The food is always excellent and the room is always a bit noisy. But in this case the service made it a very special evening.
It was a great experience!
Nice spot for a quiet lunch, with attentive service and excellent food.
The food, atmosphere and drinks were incredible- the staff was EXCEPTIONAL! They pulled off an epic birthday surprise for me thanks to my fiancé and they were so welcoming and caring. Would definitely return and recommend!
The menu choices and daily specials were excellent. The service likewise; excellent. The restaurant was a little noisy for my taste, but not out of line to today's bar/restaurants. The ambiance was very nice. It is pricey, though. Expect a salad or appetizer, entre, drink and dessert to top $100/person when including tax and tip.
The food was delicious! The rockfish, brussels sprouts, and pecan pie were all outstanding. The wine is pricey! Our server, Sam was wonderful and made the dinner even that much more pleasant. At one point during our dinner, a neighboring diner coughed so much that I asked to be moved. We were moved swiftly with no questions asked.
Service was outstanding (Blake), very accommodating to special requests. The Special Arugula Salad the best ever, the Oysters Rockefeller different very good. Only retraction was the noise level for one of us with light hearing problem on an unusually busy Tuesday evening. We’ll be back!
Absolutely fantastic. Had guests in from out of time and we had a wonderful time.
The food and cocktails were pretty good, but the service wasn't. We waited A VERY LONG time for our food and I asked for a glass of water without ice, waited 20 min, then had to ask again. Some of the waiters or informal servers were dressed like slobs--tip: if you've got love handles and a pot belly, it's best not to wear a tight T-shirt.
Good all around meal. Enjoyed it
We dined at Blacks Bar and Kitchen on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were met by a rowdy crowd as we entered the restaurant in the bar area. I was definitely overdressed in my collared shirt and slacks as I looked around and saw t-shirts, jeans and sneakers. My wife enjoyed the wine listing but they were a little pricey compared to off site pricing. She had the filet mignon which she states was delicious and I had the New York strip steak which was cold in the center and tough. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen but I took it home and my dog enjoyed the treat. The cauliflower and calamari were delicious though. This was our first experience there but it didn’t really leave us with an impression of somewhere that we would return to
Always a great meal. Go to Blacks, it’s Bethesda’s best so don’t scrimp.
Outstanding. Food was perfect. Ambiance was great for a nice, quiet, business meal.
Great. Only problem was that brunch ends so early. We would have preferred coming later. We had to rush my 92 year old mom.
Service was ok. Food was overpriced, calamari was over-salted, scallops were nothing special. Cocktails were excellent- best part of the meal.
