The place is great located, the food is nice, a bite expensive for the amount and quality and the service is a bite slow
A friend suggested Blixen and I’m delighted that I took her up her recommendation. From the moment we entered the restaurant the ambience was lovely. The decor was quaint and charming, the waiter that served us was very attentive and the food was amazing!!
I’ve also been told that the brunch is to die for so I will be back in the very near future.
Incredible brunch and stunning venue! Prices were not expensive for the value. Would highly recommend!
I booked to meet 5 friends for Saturday brunch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the menu is delicious, but we all felt the service left a lot to be desired.
We arrived early so the staff weren’t overly busy with other customers. A friend and I ordered sides to come with our meal and both the sides were delivered 15 minutes after we started eating meaning they were ultimately wasted.
Another friend ordered a pot of tea and it came without the lid. When he asked for a lid so that the loose tea didn’t spill as he poured a disinterested waiter told him to share mine.
I was disappointed as I had booked the venue and felt responsible. When the bill came we all felt that whilst the price of the food was very deserved, the customary inclusion of a service charge was very presumptuous in this case.
Great for weekend brunch especially in the garden
Been there a few times, the food is always great and the staff really friendly
The menu looked so nice, but I can’t eat dairy and there weren’t many options to choose from which is unusual for a breakfast menu or not many ways I could tailor my meal without a dairy free alternative. The staff were good about it, but still ended up paying £19 for avo poached eggs on toast and an orange juice. My friends meal was quite over priced for what it was too so won’t be going back - but it was a very nice ambiance.
I really love the atmosphere at Blixen. The food is always excellent, especially for brunch.
Gorgeous setting. It felt like a real treat. The food was excellent. The blackberry belini was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly. It was packed but felt cosy and the plants deadened the sound. I would highly recommend. We went for brunch to celebrate our anniversary. Will be back soon.
Quite pricey for what we had, but it was nice. The waitress didn’t know anything about the menu which was disappointing. Nice food and experience though.
Good atmosphere and drinks! Food was very yummy
Always reliable with a fresh, changing menu. Nice ambiance and decor and friendly staff. Definite recommendation.
Great restaurant to visit and attentive staff. The ravioli was not good at all and tasted of nothing except oil and water a d one of the drinks came and tasted nothing like the one we had before-no flavour and no alcohol. Staff were happy to change
Great food, excellent service! I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Lovely restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and a happy vibe. The staff were lovely and really accommodating with letting us stay on our table for 4 hours! Food was also really good. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back.
Great brunch options and super juices. The “conservatory” was a little of the cold side for my liking. Service was good I’d recommend. The bar and proper restaurant area is lovely.
Good knowledge of allergens, great brunch food with colourful appetising food, and a good Bloody Mary 😊
Incredibly poor service, rude and impertinent from arrival. I will not return as a result.
The waiting staff were so wonderful, very attentive and always very friendly
Blixen is my go to brunch spot! The food is so good and not too pricey. The staff are always really friendly and the location is great for meeting in central London. I would recommend always booking a table to avoid disappointment .
This is a lovely, trendy little place with gorgeous interior decor and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The food is lovely, as are the drinks and what you would expect to pay in this area of London, not too overpriced. Only thing that lets this place down is the time limit on your table booking. You are only allocated 1.5hr for brunch and one of our party was running a bit late, so we felt very rushed as the staff came and took our plates as soon as we had finished and then brought the bill and card machine over when we hadn’t even asked for it. 2hrs would be a more reasonable time slot if this must be enforced at busy times. Other than that I love this place and would definitely go back.
We originally found Blixen via The London Restaurant Festival 2015, we had one course there as part of a multi-restaurant tour.
Blixen has lovely food in pleasant surroundings. The food and service were both excellent. The dishes we had were attractively presented, tasty, and perfectly sized portions.
We had Liver & Cep parfait / Crab to start, and Monkfish / Octopus & Squid main courses. It was some of the nicest squid I've had.
Drink-wise, the Henners English sparkling was different and delicious, and the CCG G&T was refreshing, light and the cardamom worked beautifully.
For meal accompaniments, there was a good range of nice wines by the glass (we tried Chablis, Brouilly and Garnacha), plus interesting bottles too.
The "natural" Riesling wasn't to my taste, but I'm glad I sampled it. You never know.
My friend forgot a bag under the table, our friendly and attentive server managed to locate us and avoid disappointment / hassle later, which was very much appreciated.
Looking forward to a return visit.
Everyone really enjoyed our meal at Blixen, We'd never been before and thought it was really good. The table was ready before the allotted time, we were not made to feel unwelcome despite being early. The atmosphere was friendly, It was not pretentious and stuffy or low rent either. The only downside (which we were warned about from a friend) is that the wine is pricey but not so much to affect the evening. The sound levels in the venue were great, Sometimes if there is too much ambient noise it can be hard to have a conversation but this was just right. The puddings were fantastic and unexpected.
Great service, unhurried despite the notional 2 hour slot. I like food but I’m not a foodie, and this was a great menu which, taking into consideration the location, ambience and food quality (very good) was really good value. Definitely going back.
Amazing food and a great brunch vibe. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to try their dinner!
Fantastic food and service!
The table was late; the service was very slow!
Went for brunch. Staff friendly and helpful. Really lovely space, and delicious food!
Lovely experience. Good food. Great service; friendly, helpful and just right. Ambience perfect for couples, groups, catch up with friends. Decor perfect. Loved sitting in conservatory with heating! Would highly recommend. Thank you.
Went for brunch on a sunday. The juices were good but the avocado with trout was under seasoned and thus quite bland. The proportion was very generous though.
The conservatory is beautiful and it was a pleasure to spend time there. The food was just not at the same level as the decor.
Once again it was for brunch, maybe the dinner menu is better.
Overall lovely experience. Great atmosphere, will be back.
I was entertains my three adult grandchildren (22 - 25yrs Old) with their partners. The real problem was the light over our table was really too dim to see what we were eating. Pity! The food was interesting and good but it would have been great if we could have seen it!
Booked a table for 2 intended for a Business Lunch. Seating in the main restaurant was not appropriate for a Business Lunch - we would literally be sat side any side, shoulder to shoulder. Opted to sit in the Garden Room itself, which was ok - a little too much garden for my taste and on the chilly side. Food was ok.
Very nice food and excellent service. We went for Sunday brunch and the vegan option was quite nice.
Nice setting, competent service, but food was underwhelming and two dishes came out cold and a third over-cooked. Overall disappointing brunch experience.
Came here for brunch and the food was delicious. There was a wide selection of options for individuals and to share. The breakfast cocktails were also really good. The leafy interior was very scenic and a very calming, enjoyable setting.
We had a lovely brunch on New Year's Day in the cozy heated outdoor seating area surrounded by beautiful plants. My husband had a healthy and delicious hot smoked trout with avocado and poached eggs. My spinach fritter with poached eggs and truffled cheese hollandaise was indulgent without feeling too greasy. Great juices too. We didn't mind the slight issues with service (they forgot our smashed avo side) given it was January 1 - normally Blixen's service is polished.
Delicious brunch with friends. I’ve been before and would definitely come again.
We had a great NYE dinner in the Blixen restaurant. Food, service, everything was perfect. Many thanks!
