Amazing food, great service only downside was being near a drafts door
Lovely surroundings and nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. Slightly let down by attention do detail around the food which was nice but not out of the ordinary.
Good atmosphere, service, and wine. The only thing that missed was the food! It was fine but the dishes which sounded interesting (a little too interesting?) in theory we’re a bit ‘meh’ in practice. In other words: tries too hard and it doesn’t quite work. Still a v nice evening. I won’t go back but would recommend those that do to choose relatively simple sounding dishes- they might actually pack more of a flavour punch.
This was my first experience at Blixen and I enjoyed it very much.
Bahji burger was over cooked and greasy. Was not easy to digest.
Coffee was poor Weak and tasteless
Ambience was very goods - sit in the greenhouse, surrounded by plants.
Paneer salad with lentils and waldorf salad was very good.
Chips were good too.
Overall - ambience great, food moderate to good.
Expensive for what it was - prosecco spritz £9! really!!
Salted beef with poached eggs was literally amazing! We loved it! Service was great too
Beautiful restaurant in the heart of the Spitafield Market, menu with different options. Fresh ingredients and very high quality
Such a confused menu. Flavours were all wrong and it was not enjoyable at all.
I was very disappointed in the overall experience at the beginning of the lunch, due to a few things state below.
- We arrived and were sat on one of the sofa tables near the garden area were the AC unit on the ceiling leaked all over my bag and myself
- We were then moved onto another table in the garden area, it wasn't ready as someone was putting up plants from the ceiling which hung above our table
- He then started to drill the ceiling whilst we were having a meeting which of course was a struggle with the noise
- A little after that he came over and watered a plant which was directly over our table without warning us or asking for us to move...
The service of staff and food was great however, I feel that the experiences at the start ruined it.
I liked it and like my food a lot but others didn’t. Service was better than last time and I thought the building was still as pretty. There are good veggie options and some good vegan ones.
Great restaurant the food was amazing all of our dishes were absolutely lovely. Good cocktails and wine choice will definitely be going back
We’ve been to Blixen for drinks on a couple of occasions and always said we’d love to dine at the restaurant at some point. Eventually we did, and the food didn’t disappoint.
The service was excellent, and you always felt like you were being looked after. The food (brunch menu) was spot on, reinventing the traditional brunch and making it mouthwatering. The cocktails we had with our meals were also delightful and imaginative.
A huge thank you to Blixen and staff for making our stay an enjoyable one. We’ll certainly be returning next we’re in London.
Had a lovely brunch at Blixen, good service, tasty fresh cocktails and good food. I had the Cumberland sausage meal and other half had the salt beef dish. Both were very nice.
Pleasant atmosphere for an informal dinner with friends. Food choices suited everyone. Main courses very generous. Nice wine selection.
Good stand by place. Solid. Not special. Happy to go again.
I've had several great brunches at Blixen and would definitely recommend going there. Great location, ambience, staff and delicious food. Only caveat is that they're currently renovating part of the garden and therefore you can only sit inside. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Unusual dishes and flavours, very tempting and rewarding. Very good portion sizes for the quality of cuisine, not skimpy. Unrushed, organised, responsive and discrete service.
Great food. Squid and octopus was lovely.
Nice restaurant with lovely decor and good food. The general service was good, a little slow of bringing drinks but friendly and helpful.
They'd run out of one of the fish dishes which was a shame, but food generally really tasty with modern presentation.
I would recommend as a bar but maybe a little too loud for a restaurant, despite the food being lovely and the menu being quite interesting.
Great restaurant but was really unimpressed when the waitress started clearing other people's plates away and setting the table for the next course when I was still eating my starter. Very rude. Other than that, highly recommend.
Amazing! The food is insane, the wine menu is great and the service attentive but relaxed. Can't fault it
Blixen has a great brunch menu - lot of unexpected, yet delicious options (this was my second brunch trip). The service was a little slow to take orders, provide drinks, but it was a leisurely brunch so didn't cause any problems. And the servers were very nice., and helpful permitting small adaptations to the menu, and letting us try the wine before buying a bottle.
The portions are a good size, and I think good value for the standard of cooking, and options available. I know I'll be back again, as am fairly local. It also helps that the decor is great.
Difficult to choose from a creative, appealing menu. None of us were disappointed with our choices. Friendly service, great ambience
We had Sunday Brunch here with our two grandchildren aged 8 and 10. The clientele were mainly 20, 30 40 somethings but we felt very much at home within the lively, but unobtrusive, atmosphere and very pleasant service.
The Brunch menu was varied, quite quirky, very good, and enjoyed by all. We will definitely go again and will recommend Blixen to our friends.
One of the best brunches I have ever had. Generous portions of wonderful food in pleasant, airy surroundings. Have been twice in the past month and plan to go again next month.
Food was really good.
Cocktails were ok but nothing exciting
Staff were not always attentive. Had to ask for dessert menu etc
Had some good ideas but unfortunately they weren’t pulled off properly.
Visited Blixen for the 1st time, last weekend, food and service was fantastic, just a little bit pricy.
Incredible food and drinks. Service is very good too. This restaurant is a hidden gem. As good as some Michelin restaurants I’ve been too. The food is unique, sumptuous and so beautifully prepared. Couldn’t recommend Blixen more!
I am staying in London with work (which I do regularly) and wanted to go out for a nice dinner so looked through the Michelin website to find a good restaurant and booked Blixen through OpenTable. I wanted to eat at 7.15pm as I had work to finish after dinner. However there were no tables available until 8pm so I booked for 8pm. On arriving at 8, I was told there were no tables for one person and I would have to sit at either the bar or the counter. There was no one at the counter so I sat at the bar, which was not exactly the fine dining experience I was hoping for. I had brought my book and was hoping for a nice 3 course meal in the restaurant, not a quick meal perched on an uncomfortable bar stool at the bar. The food came very quickly and was pleasant enough. The whole experience start to finish took 26 mins! I didn't stick around for a dessert as there were people standing very close to me waiting to go for dinner and people coming and going to the bar and bumping into my chair so it wasn't the relaxing dining experience I was hoping for. The bar staff were very friendly and when I mentioned I had not wanted to sit at the bar he was quite apologetic but unfortunately I was given no other option at reception by the member of staff that greeted me. All in all not the experience I was hoping for at all. If you fancy walking in off the street for a quick bite to eat or want to stay for a drink then the bar would be very suitable. However if you're wanting a relaxing three course meal and have specifically booked a table and waited for a time when a table was supposedly available then I don't think being asked to eat at the bar is at all appropriate. If you're not dining alone and have booked online, I suspect you would get a table but beware if you were hoping to dine alone.
Good food in nice surroundings, we went for Saturday brunch. My friend had the mackerel with eggs and I had the salt beef with eggs, both were beautifully presented and very tasty.
Cool vibe, nice interior, friendly staff and interesting menu!!
Bad service and undercooked chicken could be way better and I never complian
Blixen is a favourite spot for me. They are currently having some work done to the garden / conservatory area. It was a bit noisy but the food & service were as great as ever. Look forward to seeing what they do with the place!
Service was really good and the cocktails were great.
Really delicious food. Caters well for vegans too! Pretty diverse menu with nice wines and even better food. Very friendly service too
Ideal for brunch
Lovely venue. Food was outstanding. Had the salt beef and the warm banana pudding. Both dishes were excellent. We all enjoyed the meals. Couple of negatives. The booths were a very tight squeeze to get into even though none of us are on the large side. We had the table for 90 mins. Hadn’t realised that we would be chased out after that time.
The only downside were the cocktails. The Bloody Mary in particular was dissapointing
