This summer, German Gymnasium has teamed up with Wines of Germany to offer Londoners a Berlin-inspired picnic experience. Each hamper is designed to highlight a different German wine – choose from Pinot Noir, Riesling or Sekt (Germany’s answer to Prosecco). Inside the hamper you’ll find Bavarian Giga rolls with fillings like Black Forest ham and smoked salmon, marzipan treats, and Nussecken – shortbread with chocolate-dipped corners and an apricot jam and hazelnut topping. Enjoy your picnic on one of the grass-topped terrace tables or find a quiet spot along the canal.

If you’re celebrating this summer, why not do it alfresco with a gourmet hamper from Corrigan’s? The restaurant is only a short stroll away from picnic spots like Hyde Park and Grosvenor Square. Their hamper for two is priced at £100 and includes seven seasonal dishes, homemade bread and hand churned butter, half a bottle of Champagne, mineral water and a blanket.
