Blue Crab Grill
Blue Crab Grill in Newark, Delaware is known for offering a giant menu filled with seafood options. Though much of it is seasonal, you can always count on some items at Blue Crab Grill. For example, there is the steak and cake. You get a grilled beef tenderloin and jumbo lump crab cakes.
Another standby at Blue Crab Grill is the surf and turf. This includes a five-ounce beef tenderloin steak and a five-ounce lobster tail that is served stuffed with crab imperial. The crazy jambalaya is very popular as well. It comes with crab legs, crawfish, clams, mussels, scallops, chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage.

I specifically wanted to go to Blue Crab for my birthday. What a disappointment. The waitress was aloof , the crab bisque wasn’t at all like it used to me and my entree surf and turf was not even hot. The coleslaw wasn’t prepared right either. Was so let down by the Blue Crab experience.
It will be a long time before I go back.
An unhappy customer
This place never disappoints, excellent food excellent service
Everything was exceptional from the hostess, service and the Food is delishes. Definitely will be returning.
Just wanted to have lunch with a girlfriend nothing special. It was a huge disappointment, we’ll never come again. The waitress was nasty nice, the food taste horrible, the place was dull.
One of my favorite restaurants. Definitely have a delicious food
Despite the shortage of staff, the service and food were excellent as usual. That is why we keep returning.
Great appetizers and food. Service was amazing!
Great atmosphere & staff. BBQ pork sandwich was great!
Great experience as always! Our go to place for a nice dinner and date night
Great seafood choices. Plenty of wait staff on a Saturday night. We did have to wait a little longer for the entre although the drinks and appetizers were very prompt. Food is good. Plenty of crab nachos for two people.
Went to celebrate a birthday, I had the fried shrimp fries slaw all very good two guest had crab cake and smoked ribs, they were very good since I tried the ribs, the meat fell off the bone with a good smoke taste. the 9 year old has mac and cheese and a side salad and she really enjoyed. the have a children's menu. service was excellent
The food was good. I am a garlic lover but they had so much in two of our meals that it was overpowering. Service was good. Nice evening out.
The food wasn’t too good and they didn’t refund my husband for his dish that came out disgusting
Good seafood restaurant in Delaware-will return. Costs have risen due to CoVID. Wine was only average
Great food as usual which is why we keep going back.
We had been there before and had a less than great meal. Recently received an offer for birthday dinner and decided to try again. The service was excellent, the special cocktail was delicious, the meal was also excellent. Both my husband and I decided we would come back for more.
conveniently located near my business. excellent seafood for good price
The website didn’t mention live music on Sunday. It was so loud we had to shout at our server to be heard and conversation was almost impossible.
The food was not worth the money. I go to seafood restuarants for fresh seafood not previously frozen food. My appetizers were crab deviled eggs with NO CRAB, my entree was a $30 seafood bread bowl that get this was a regular bowl of previously frozon salmon, 2 little scallops, and a teaspoon of crab meat. I could get over the fact they didn’t use a real bread bowl if they hadn’t tried to pull a fast one and put a loaf of bread cut in half in the bowl. And the “bisque” should be taken off the menu, it had NO lobster in it and was the consistency of pudding. Clearly I won’t be returning
I had the Crazy Jambalaya & the snow crab was bad. It had an ammonia taste. The chicken pieces were over cooked. My fiance loved the shrimp & grits w/tomato gravy.
Delicious food, delicious cocktails with a large selection of both! Wait staff was friendly and attentive! I had passed by this restaurant for years without going in, and I’m so glad I finally dined there! I will definitely go again!
We got the ribs and crabcake with mixed vegetables and potato wedges. Ribs were just OK, nothing spectacular. The crab cake was painfully mediocre at best, there was no way it was fresh. The veggies tasted like they were cooked with the fish, broccoli was okay, everything else was awful. The potato wedges were good but so greasy. The free bread in the beginning was the star of the meal.
The food and drinks were great! Ordered a steak rare, came out well done but was still juicy. Service was also great! We will be back.
The food was amazing I loved it ... Everything was fresh
Surf and turf was disappointing, steak wasn’t even a filet and tiny spot of crab on the lobster tail. Usually I love this place, guess I should’ve stuck with fried shrimp which are usually great. Service was pretty slow and waitress was inattentive.
Great food and service!
Got the special Bronzino fish it was delicious and the vegetable soup was excellent -the Blue Crab grille has consistently the best soups I've ever had.
Decent meal.. didn’t read the menu beforehand. In town visiting. Thought they would have more crab options based on the name. Not bad though. Service was good, got right in even though it was pretty busy.
Excellent crab legs and the jambalaya was delicious.
Thanks Great time
Outstanding meal-never disappoints! Recommend the shrimp and grits. Best seafood restaurant!
Normally we are not ones for restaurants in plazas, but upon entering we were pleasantly surprised. We were quickly seated in a large comfy booth and waited upon almost immediately. The service, food and ambience were all amazing! The handcrafted cocktails were a big hit with my wife. This may become one of our new favorites :-)
The food was not seasoned well. It tasted bland and for the money not that great. We had a crab bisque soup and there was very little if any crab in it and it tasted more like heavy cream then crab bisque. I had a rainbow trout that seemed to be steamed rather then pan seated. The service was the best part of the experience. Mary was very upbeat and made the evening feel better.
Bbq bacon wrapped shrimp as an Appetizer was delicious. Muscles diavolo never disappoints. The soft shell crabs were amazing. Julia-Thanks for excellent service. Melissa- great job on the drinks.
Food & service was great as usual.
The food and service was excellent!
Went to celebrate Fathers Day. The food was okay. The crab bisque and Caesar salad had no flavor. The bread they brought out was hard as a rock. The service was very slow, there were times we didn’t see our waiter for 20+minutes. The food is typically great here so I was surprised. Overall wasn’t worth what I paid, not happy with the quality of the food. Probably won’t be back.
Food was excellent except for the pasta dish which was too oily and abut heavy on the garlic. Service was choppy with delays in drinks and bread. The waitress was excellent and courteous.
I will return
Very large portions. Great value. Best restaurant in the area. Good for families. Lots of seafood options and decor reflects it. Our server was very attentive and they worked like a team from checkin through service and checkout. The salads were delicious as were all crab things we got
