Blue Hill is dedicated to creating a new category of neighborhood restaurant that maintains the classic attributes of warmth and affordability, while delivering superior food and service.
It was a wonderful experience to end a wonderful day. All the of the staff was over the top great and the food was amazing and just the perfect amount!
The dinner was wonderful. The staff were very attentive. We celebrated our anniversary. I said the dinner was our celebration and we needed no fanfare. They set the table with a handwritten card wishing us happy anniversary. So sweet! They provided details of each course. The food was delicious. Even my picky 20 yr old was excited. With the end of our dinner, they discretely brought an anniversary cake including candle. Such a wonderful dinner. Exceeded my high expectations!
Service was incredibly slow. Took 15 minutes for me to get a cocktail I ordered sitting down. Took 10-15 minutes between courses. Dinner for two took almost 3 hours.
I love this place so much. I’ve been there 4 times and every time the food and service have been extraordinary.
It was a very disappointing dinner. The entries were just regular vegetables that could be found in almost any supermarket in Europe. Regarding the pieces of liver foie covered by chocolate, the were just a medium-low quality foie which does not match the reputation of the restaurant. The main dishes (beef meat and beetroot) were just not savory. Despite the fact the beef was smooth, it was cold and did not have enough flavour. The beetroot was just a funny joke, it was supposed to be grilled but it was just a tiny piece of burnt beetroot. No hints of smokey flavour at all, it just tasted bad. It is hard to understand how can a chef taste that and think that ir is fine to serve it.
The sweet corn dish was ok and the desserts were good but not surprising considering the high expectations.
Finally, the sliced apple was just great. It is surprising to consider an apple the best product of a menu of $109.
Service was very good and the ambience was nice too.
This restaurant does not deserve at all the reputation and critics it has.
Food, service and atmosphere were outstanding.
Blue Hill is an amazing destination for foodies looking for a place to go destination. Go for the tasting menu, for sure, be prepared to shell out but many amazing delights will come your way! The NYC location doesn’t have the same magic as upstate, but still an amazing meal and evening.
Every course was excellent.
This was a 3 hour fabulous experience. Never had we had flavors and unique vegetables as we did at Blue Hill. The service was extraordinary. Its obvious this is a good restaurant. It will packed full on a Monday night! Well worth the price!
One of the best meals of my life. Wonderful service.
Everything from the food to the service was perfection.
We are definitely coming back here again and again!
Absolutely outstanding. Creative dishes and the best customer service I've ever experienced
Most amazing meal ever! Really stands alone as being best tasting as well as ideologically one of the best restaurants. Really phenomenal.
Over-priced for the service and quality of the dishes. The restaurant manager was very friendly, however, didn’t engage him until closer to the end when they attempted to get the order correct. The waitress was essentially non-existent during the evening, at times going 25 minutes without seeing or hearing from her (to include the time between getting the menu and taking the order (and we were only the fourth couple in the restaurant at the time with numerous staff on hand hanging out in the bar area).
The food was okay. Nothing amazing. The restaurant and food at their Westchester location was phenomenal (albeit 10 years ago when we went to the Westchester location).
Lastly, the dress attire on the website advises elegant casual; however, several patrons were in jeans and sneakers.
While on a tour of NY colleges, we couldn’t pass the opportunity to dine at Dan Barber’s famous spot, not only because of its proximity to our hotel my favorite dish, the retired dairy cow, is no exception. The wine pairing was very interesting, with positions from rather unique locations, like Sicily or even Czechia (!), all marvelously complementing the food. Service was absolutely perfect, with everyone being attentive, but not overwhelming, and cordial, but not too cozy or chummy. Great experience overall.
Great service, accommodating. The food is fantastic, was presented beautifully. It was my husband’s birthday and they made him feel special with a birthday card and extra desert. 👍👍
The food was absolutely amazing! Our waiter was very tentative, but not over bearing all night long. We would go back in a heart beat and will recommend this place to everyone trying to go to a nice dinner in NYC.
Excellent food and atmosphere just wish service was a little more engaged.
Excellent attentive staff and very creative food experience. We had ten courses, many of which were surprises! Dishes are nuanced with sauces and herbs etc ... not really for the the steak and potatoes type of eater. They made excellent accommodations for my pescatarian wife. We came a way very satisfied and would return there with our next visit to New York.
Delicious and incredible service. Really enjoyed my meal. And it was a great value for what we enjoyed!
Amazing food and exceptional service.
Love everything about this place!
Excellent meal and stellar service. We will definitely return!
We dined here for our first year anniversary. It was amazing! The entire staff made us feel so welcome and made our anniversary very special with little touches like a note, dessert with a candle. The ambiance of the restaurant was so cute and romantic. The food was amazing, every dish was so unique and yummy. The cocktails were also so unique. We loved the zero food waste concept and how creative all the dishes were.
Our server was marvelous in every way. Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere. But won't ever eat there again. Tiny, extremely expensive portions and unfortunately for me I found the tastes and textures of almost everything to be completely not my cup of tea and several dishes were downright unpleasant. We ordered lots of different dishes - from regular menu, tasting menu. Intriguing concept but rather pretentious if you haven't drunk the Kool-Aid. Felt as if the menu descriptions and the plating tried too hard to be cutting edge/unique. Some were interesting but overall really contrived.
Took my wife there for her birthday. Food, service, ambiance, everything was great.
The food was good and the service was excellent. But we don't feel that for the price of the meal, we'd got something exceptional.
Fabulous waiter...sorry not to know his name. Lovely British (?) name.
We loved everything.
We had a wonderful time at Blue Hill celebrating our anniversary. Everything was incredible from the service to the amazing meal. Highly recommend.
Outstanding meal, impeccable service and a wonderful ambiance. All around amazing dining experience.
We headed to NYC for my son’s birthday. Everything was amazing. This is our second visit after being inspired by the Netflix show Chef’s Table and Dan Barber’s vision. Staff were fantastic!
Birthday and date.
Had been wanting to try this unassuming quiet gem and finally made on my birthday! First, we cannot over-emphasize the very attentive service and excellent communication among the team of servers regarding pencils needs. Questions were answered patiently and thoroughly and the staff smoothly responded to our seating and drink requests. We chose the four course offerings and were very satisfied- so fresh and subtly prepared, each course connecting well with the previous, timing impeccable.
Will definitely return!
Blue Hill was an incredible experience that we will remember for a long time to come. We feel so honored to have been able to go and we will hopefully return again soon!
Lovely unfussy service, brilliant food takes centre stage. Loved the muted, tasteful atmosphere
I cannot believe a better dining experience. Delightful in every way. Romantic, quiet, adventurous, attentive, relaxing, luxurious, delicious, amazing.
Fantastic place. My wife and I celebrated her b-day here - we saw the Netflix special about Stone Barns a couple of years ago and were excited to try the Manhattan location. We had the Farmer's Feast (there is an extended version, we had that). It ended up being 7-9 courses, and top to bottom they were excellent. I was a chef for many years and eating here left me impressed with not only the freshness, flavors, and creativity in the dishes, but in the overall experience. The staff was engaged, knowledgeable,
and genuine. Our server Simone was great, as was Grace and the Sous, who came out to our table (wife's birthday and I sometimes drop that I am in the business.... Hey it never hurts).
Blue Hill is a class act, incredible food, and the staff are professionals. Go
Probably the best all around fine dining experience I’ve ever had.
We have choosed the two menus available and tried all the food!! All were expectacular!!
The next time we would like to live the Experience at the farm
