Blue Hill is dedicated to creating a new category of neighborhood restaurant that maintains the classic attributes of warmth and affordability, while delivering superior food and service.
Fantastic place. My wife and I celebrated her b-day here - we saw the Netflix special about Stone Barns a couple of years ago and were excited to try the Manhattan location. We had the Farmer's Feast (there is an extended version, we had that). It ended up being 7-9 courses, and top to bottom they were excellent. I was a chef for many years and eating here left me impressed with not only the freshness, flavors, and creativity in the dishes, but in the overall experience. The staff was engaged, knowledgeable,
and genuine. Our server Simone was great, as was Grace and the Sous, who came out to our table (wife's birthday and I sometimes drop that I am in the business.... Hey it never hurts).
Blue Hill is a class act, incredible food, and the staff are professionals. Go
We have choosed the two menus available and tried all the food!! All were expectacular!!
The next time we would like to live the Experience at the farm
I selected the farmers feast again, with the wine pairing. I very much appreciated and enjoyed the wonderful meal, and the information our waiter shared with us about the wine selections. And, of course, the wine was interesting and delicious. All the staff is very welcoming. It was a very enjoyable meal.
Wonderful - great food, presentation, and ambiance.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Truly phenomenal.
It was a wonderfull experience, having dinner at Blue Hill. The food was delicieous, the service was very attentive and kind and it was very thoughtfull that we got a extra dessert cake for our wedding anniversary. Thank you very much for a lovely, memorabele evening!
Absolutely fabulous in all respects. The perfect place for a special occasion.
Largas esperas; servicio pésimo. La cocina buena, pero no merece la pena.
Outstanding food and service!
The food was original, delicious, and healthy. No I ate too much hangover. Just right.
This is one of the most highly acclaimed restaurants in the U.S. I found the food lived up to its billing, with outstanding flavors and creative presentation. However, I feel the meat portions offered on the tasting menu were a little skimpy. Sommelier was very helpful, and service overall was outstanding. The restaurant is on the basement level of a NYC multi-story building. Ambience was very nice, surroundings very clean and neat, but not luxurious. Seating was NYC-style cramped, with 4-person tables on the middle and 2-person tables lined up cheek-by-jowl on the walls. The space was not stuffy or intimidating, but also not luxe. We'd go there again.
Truly an incredible night, celebrating our anniversary at Blue Hill. So many special touches from the restaurant to make our day so wonderful. Thank you!
Don't believe the hype. Menu is limited. Flavors are odd. Portions are minimal. Shun is a much better experience.
Best meal of our life. Period.
And a powerful statement on a plate, about nature, respect and creativity.
Unbelievable, and unforgettable!
Fabulous dining experience in NYC.
Just celebrated my Birthday here, and it was amazing!
The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully plated.
This was a dining EXPERIENCE. My dinner club friends and I all agree that it was probably the best meal we've ever had! Fantastic food - everything was amazing, wonderful service and the ambiance was perfect. It's pricey, but worth every penny and more. I will go back again and again, this restaurant is now at the top of my favorites list!
Eating at Blue Hill is something I always look forward to. The high quality of the ingredients is why it so consistently stands out.
We thought the tables were too close together which spoiled the ambience. The starters were a bit bland, although obviously very fresh. It picked up with the entrées which were delicious, I particularly loved the duck. The chilled cantaloupe soup was also delicious. I thought the stone fruit course at the end was a bizarre idea - four pieces of fruit set amongst lots of actual fruit stones! Our server was efficient but with no real warmth or personality.
Everything was wonderful, from the wine to the food to our server! Nothing felt forced and everything was so simple and perfect.
We have been to Stone Barns a number of times, but not to Blue Hill in the city. Food and service were excellent. The restaurant was full so the noise level was at times a bit too much. What is especially nice is that the server describing the course as it is set before you does not go on too long. And is in no way "precious" in delivering the explanation. All in all a most enjoyable experience.
I love the care given to each dish which seemed to represent the very best of nature’s current bounty. I was still running through the farmer’s feast, and it’s delectable list of ingredients when I woke up the following morning!
Service, food, wine and experience. Best meal I’ve ever had in every category.
The expectations were high-we had read a lot about the restaurant, the philosophy, the chef's background and seemingly all lined up. Alas on paper & telling of the story on Netflix, it seems wonderful-the execution was another story. The cuisine was, well pedestrian if one was well traveled & had encountered diverse ingredients, the execution was underwhelming (the table next to ours was more forthright in their comments & complained about some of the food as being inedible and left before the meal ended-we stayed till the bitter end), ours was simply dull, unimaginative & lacking in flavor. Meanwhile, the service was distant & haughty. Between seating and being informed about dinner details took 20-25 minutes-there were long pauses between empty dishes being collected & empty water glasses being refilled. We eat out a lot in NYC and in many other parts of the world, given that food is a passion of ours. This dinner would rank as the biggest disappointment of 2019 (perhaps a few years).
Wow - what a great experience, value and unique restaurant. They take there fresh ingredients seriously here and have a story to tell as to why they are using each ingredient. The service was fantastic, very attentive, knowledgeable and genuine. It’s a great escape from the norm - weather your norm is typical ‘5 star dining’ with the same overused ingredients, or if your typical is ‘2 star corner fair’ Blue Hill will surprise you! The atmosphere is upscale without pretentiousness, which makes it perfect for a special occasion or just an awesome Friday night out. I highly recommend.
Excellent experience. Would highly recommend while visiting NY
Excelent as always
Amazing food and service!
Everything was Fantastic and exceeded my expectations! Thank you Blue Hill
How does the Chef make a tomato taste so sweet? I don't even like tomatoes, yet I loved the Grape tomatoes with pistou and salt. Bold flavors danced across the plates with Liver and Chocolate, Sticky/charred beets. I could eat here every day. We'll be back soon!
We celebrated our 1 year anniversary and had dinner at Blue Hill farm. The service was perfect! We were treated like family and felt right at home. Music and ambience was great, and the food was fantastic. I would recommend my friends and family to eat there anytime there in NY.
Fabulous restaurant, great service - recommend very highly!
Amazing! Great food and great service.
Blue Hill is one of those restaurants that comes with such high expectations it’s unlikely it will live up to them. In this case they were exceeded.
Wonderful experience started at the door when we were greeted by name upon arriving. I mentioned that I was taking my daughter out to celebrate her birthday when I confirmed our reservation. A lovely Birthday note was left on the table for her, before we were seated. So nice! Chef driven menu. Impeccable service and presentation. Pace of service left time for conversation and full enjoyment of the experience. The food was flavorful and surprising. My daughter and I had a memorable evening together at Blue Hill and will definitely return.
The farmer's feast is very delightful sampler type set. Menu changes from time to time. Recommend to try once in a while.
The food was delicious, but I didn’t think the service was as good as similar restaurants. We were put in the back/garden room which was a different atmosphere than the main dining room, I think I would have preferred the main. They serve a lot of finger food without flatware in the beginning, I think it would have been nice to have been given a hot towel to clean our hands first. Our waitress was friendly but not as professional as I would have expected for this price level and she made a mistake in our ordering. We ordered the extended farmer’s feast not the regular and we didn’t realize we weren’t getting it until they brought dessert .
