Jacob Kenedy and Victor Hugo opened Bocca di Lupo in November 2008. The restaurant has since received various awards and accolades for its stripped-down, honest regional Italian cuisine. Despite the buzzy feel and glamourous surroundings, we are a family business, a small and humble trattoria at heart.

We specialise in the obscure and the delicious highlights of food and wine from all across Italy's twenty regions. If we can make something ourselves, we do - gelati, breads, sausages, salame, pickles, mostarda, and pasta of course - the rest is carefully sourced from Italy. A selection of Italian wines and home-made and imported foods is available for delivery, along with our famous gelato, from Gelupo.

We had delicious grilled fish and yummy deep fried appetizers, drinking very good house white. Service was spotless and timely - we had to leave promptly as it was a pre-theatre dinner. Excellent venue, will come back.

We went to Bocca di Lupo before going to the theatre to see Imperium (just around the corner on Shaftsbury Avenue). The restaurant knew we were tight on time and made every effort to serve us quickly and efficiently. The menu is a tapas style with many small dishes. We had the sweetbreads and roasted artichoke skewers which were wonderful. Asparagus wrapped with Parma ham also very good indeed. Blood orange Granita was an excellent dessert and my husband loved the Baba Rum. It is a bit noisy with a lively bar scene at the front and no curtains or any other textiles to absorb the noise, but it didn't bother us too much. I'd definitely come back again.

One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Very tasty seafood and good selection of wine.
It was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a glass of sparking wine on the house.(special orange juice for our little one)
Great food, efficient service, loved the restaurant and will visit again.
The location is central, near many theatres which is great, but is not the prettiest street in London:)

From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly and helpful. We sat at the chefs counter. Ideal for 2, think larger groups might struggle. We were given breads etc while we chose our courses. We shared 3 starters and 3 small plate mains. There wasn't a trace of food left as we cleaned every plate!!!!! Highly recommend the artichoke flower, croquette, gnocchi & ravioli. Everything was well seasoned and the pasta was the best I've ever had. The staff were very helpful throughout. Already planning my next trip!

I went to Bocca di Lupo with my partner for my birthday and they brought us a glass of fizz each as soon as we sat down. We were at the counter and all the chefs were amazing, very chatty, very enthusiastic and the food they were producing was delicious. I went with the head chef's starter recommendation and it was absolutely wonderful. We both loved our starters and mains and the wine recommended to us.

We don't often treat ourselves like that, but Bocca di Lupo is totally worth it. Service is great, lovely atmosphere and we'd love to go back to sample a bit more of the menu!

Post matinee early dinner, getting a booking easier the staff beginning a shift, not packed, could become my favourite time at BdL.
Food and staff equally good. Relaxed and fed and on way home and still only 18.30 ! Every dish was memorable. Chef Tom had a bit of time to discuss the dishes to my wife (Chef). Very happy ! Thank you

Great food and wine, go to Italian in London. Some dishes are a little over priced and it’s quite loud, but overall it’s amazing.

Had a really nice time at this restaurant. Was pleasantly surprised to know someone else with same surname as me!

Reviews stated this place was cosy, casual and good atmosphere. When we arrived I instantly felt under dressed for the occasion and it gave off romantic vibes.
I was with my friend just for a catch up so at times it did seem a little too romantic.

Food quality was excellent but would say price paid is a little steep for amount of food you get.
Service was great and we tipped our own percentage against how meal went.
Would come back with my partner or family.

Family get together including a teenager with a number of allergies. Staff could not have been more helpful in their advice and help in getting safe and good food for us. Mozzarella stuffed courgette flowers a joy as always. Good buzz inside. Everyone left happy.

Had a mid-week lunch here. Staff were really helpful with explanations and recommendations. A really tasty menu which was hard to choose from and so will definitely return to try the other dishes! A little loud - lack of soft furnishing has this effect in many eateries but we sat at the bar and because of the "tapas" style way of eating ( a selection of the smaller plates), it made it all the more authentic and less stuffy. Food was lovely.

My girlfriend and I were looking asking around for restaurant recommendations from friends and people at work and the same name kept on popping up each time.... Bocca Di Lupo. Based on the strong sentiment that a lot of people had tried and enjoyed the food on offer here we decided to book and thank god we did!!!

From start to finish the service was excellent, the food was delicious and the whole evening didnt feel rushed. Our waiter for the evening, Cristian, answered every question we had about the menu and even sang happy birthday on his own at the end.

The only draw down was 5 sprigs of asparagus with parma ham for £12 but apart from that everything was spot on.

I've wanted to go to Bocca di Lupo for many years, so was extremely excited! Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my hopes . The food was fine, but the two hour turnaround is enforced quite fiercely and though it was nicely buzzy and the wine was delicious, it just didn't seem worth it given that the food was so unexciting. The best thing we had was probably the lamb with egg yolk and the asparagus with lardo, but tbh most of the rest of it (eg broad bean pasta, sea bass crudo, chickpea pancake) I've had done much better elsewhere and in the case of the pasta, have even made better myself! A bit over salty in many dishes and just didn't seem like the ingredients were particularly special; the peas weren't that sweet, the broad beans were a bit tasteless, which for the buzz and prices seemed a shame.

I eat fairly regularly at BdL and it never disappoints. Good range of Italian wines and the usual slightly quirky lineup of authentic Italian food, eg squirrel tortellini and the famed fennel sausage. I lunched with a friend in from Australia and it was a thoroughly enjoyable meal. He was suitably impressed. Ambience is cheerful but it's easy to conduct a conversation if you sit at the bar.
