Great environment and food
Fine quality Italian food in a lively, upscale setting. Excellent service. But how on earth can they justify charging £7 for bread? It's a sneaky move that must leave many otherwise satisfied customers feeling ripped off.
We loved the restaurant from staff to ambiance and especially the food. Pizza as a starter was great. Tagliatelle w Veal Ragu was awesome.
Good service. Pasta (both lobster and boar dishes) were well cooked and flavourful. "Focaccia" was actually just pizza base. Nice interior let down by music that was 90s pop(?) and irritating. Lamb secondo was very average. Ricky Gervais and wife, and Will Arnett, were at the next table so we could barely hear ourselves over their "stage presence" personalities. Overall meh.
One of my favourite restaurants in London. Highly recommended!! Love it ❤️
Great Tagliatelle with tartuffo, well-cooked pasta, helpful and efficient servers, great starters (beef tartare!) , puddings excellent
Definitely overpriced for the quality of food and taste. I wouldn’t go back. Not much atmosphere at all.
Value the price and great experience in this dynamic atmosphere! I will try again!
Very rude receptionist
Excelente. Andrea nos atendió muy bien y la comida, deliciosa. ¡Volveremos pronto! Mil gracias.
Not an Italian restaurant. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS
The food it’s alright and staff it’s nice but the price it’s to high for the quality of the food.
The music was way to loud for having dinner conversations.
Bocconcino is a great place and when in London soon will be visiting again real soon! Service is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious, like being back in Italy!
The place is too expensive for what it actually delivers. The wine is extremely expensive but the selection isn’t mind blowing. It is pretending to be more than it actually is.
Ok nothing amazing
Food was good quality, but not really impressive for the price. Service was excellent, the waiting staff were really attentive and friendly. The only thing I wasn't really happy was the music that didn't match the atmosphere of the restaurant at all would expect for calm music rather than a mix of pop mix.
The service was fine but the food was mediocre and expensive for what you got. A disappointing eating
Good food with good ambiance.
Waitress was in a hurry to clean table and that made us leave quickly.
I had been recommended to go to BC. I would be happy to recommend it to friends and family, it was great. Delicious food, friendly and fast service.
Excellent fresh fish and tasty dishes with a nice presentation. Care for the guests and good wine selection. Friendly staff.
Way too expensive! And this is without bottle of wine. Sartoria in comparison is way better in terms of good quality and quantity and ambiance and value!
It was disgusting- my 8 year old niece can make food with more taste
This was our 2nd visit, and it will be our last. Started well enough, though we had to call the waiter back to take our wine order after he only took the food order. The bread ordered with/for the starter only arrived when we were halfway through it. The reason given was 'its made to order', I should think it is! it was incredibly salty when it did arrive.
The mains were good - nothing outstanding but ok. It really went downhill after the main course though. We were asked if we wanted desert and given the menu. Then, nothing. Not one of the waiting staff came back to take our order. It was like we were in an invisible bubble in the middle of the restaurant. After a good half hour or more, we decided to skip desert and go straight to the coffee - which we had to try to flag down a waiter for. The flat white was mostly foam with a tiny bit of coffee at the bottom. Not great.
When I finally caught the waitresses eye to ask for the bill, she brought it juicily (about the only quick thing) and set it down in front of my (male) friend, despite me (female) requesting it. When I mentioned to her that this was bad form (discreetly whilst my friend went to the bathroom) , rather than apologise she argued and said she had 'just put it on the table'. No, she set it neatly in front of my friend. And she continued to protest as much. Had I though better, I would have asked for the 13.5% service charge to be removed from the bill - 3.5% would have been more appropriate.
A disappointing experience that we won't be repeating. I can think of many better places in which to spend £200 for lunch.
Food was terrific. Downstairs is more of a "bar" atmosphere and quite noisy. If you want something quieter and more intimate, sit upstairs. They do take reservations.
It was a very nice meal but they didn’t give us any special treatment even though I had told them in advance it was my husbands birthday. Also felt like the meal was over quite quickly.
Main waiter staff were very good but the people providing drinks just gave no smile.
I did enjoy it and pleased we went but for the prices charged I’d except that little bit more.
Dinner was great! I would enjoy a little more varied pasta selection and the spinach salad was very over dressed.
The decoration is nice and the people friendly and polite.
However a few things did not help to make me feel I want to go again to dine at this place;
1. There were some technicians with tools at the end of the room doing some maintenance I guess (tools on a table like metre etc...bag with tools on the ground...). I would expect any maintenance to be done outside the opening hours.
2. The ladies room was smelling glue and was full of dust - even the door handle, mirror etc. I was expecting it to be clean and fresh.
3. The table height is not balanced with the chair height (table too high and chair too short) and this didn't make the whole experience comfortable.
4. The people of the restaurant were all standing in front of the bar and right behind me (very close as there in not much space in the room) and it was kind of "threatening"...I couldn't even check my phone without having the feeling that someone is over my head watching me.
5. Pasta was good but I would prefer it al dente and less oily
Per my perspective if the management take care of these things and focus on the details of an overall good service there is lots of potential for this place to become a real hot spot.
Food great. Service great. Would definitely recommend. Loved it!
In the midst of remodeling, so there's noise and dust. The food was fine but 50 pounds for a soup, salad, sparkling water and bread lunch is a bit over the top, even in Mayfair. Gratuity added to the bill, so beware.
This restaurant offers good and tasty Italian food. However, the restaurant is currently under major renovation: The construction area is absolutely visible and the entrance hall smells of construction material. The staff was professional, albeit mostly cold. There is none of the typical Italian warmth and hospitality. Specifically the lady at the entrance seemed annoyed when asked about the restaurant and the ongoing construction. All in all an okay experience.
Anniversary and got given free dessert with “happy anniversary written on plate” service was amazing !!!
Everything was great, except the Tiramisu. I’ve got the biggest sweet tooth, but I couldn’t even finish it. There was no flavor. They have a great wine list. The chicken Cesar salad was amazing. My wife had ravioli, which were perfect. The sauce was unreal. I had the veal tagliatelle, which was good, not the best. I would get the ravioli over the veal tagliatelle. The ambiance is perfect. However, while we were there they were doing construction on the ground floor. We sat downstairs. The construction noise wasn’t bad, just distracting. It might be best to go after construction has finished. We would go again.
Great food and service! Some of the truffle dishes are expensive but the quality is excellent!
The blonde hostess on entrance was incredibly rude and disinterested. When my fiance rang to say we were running ten minutes late she sighed and said well you can come but I dont know what we can do. We arrived and were very apologetic and suggested we sat at the bar she said no it was full, we suggested going somewhere for a drink and she said no she would give our table away. Another hostess stepped in and was very helpful and took us to stand at the bar. The waiting staff were brilliant and the food was very good - although the tempura prawn and spinach were over salted. Overall a good meal but for the money there are better restaurants where the whole experience makes you want to return.
Really great evening thank you!! The staff, food and ambience were wonderful!
Too much noise in the restaurant. Food was over cooked. No taste at all!
Will not recommend to anyone.
Went with my Girlfriend for our Anniversary and the ambience, layout and first impressions was very good.
Service was on point and the food was very good .....the only constructive feedback I could give was that we were disappointed we were charged for bread at the table given the prices and there was no ice offered with the water at the table but these were very minor niggles that did not overshadow a lovely long lunch celebrating our special day .....thank you!!!
