Since joining Bohemia in 2013 Steve has racked up an impressive list of accolades such as being named Catey Chef of the Year, being listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants with special praise given for desserts 6th in the UK for restaurants to enjoy dessert in.
We think that dining in Bohemia is not just eating but a wonderfully exciting way to experience dining at its best. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you when time allows.
A fantastic place to enjoy top quality food, Thomas (I think the maître d′) is a huge asset to this restaurant! Thanks to the whole team.
Our third visit to Bohemia and the food was excellent, possibly the best we have had there. However, we did not feel that the service was as good as it had been. It was not the calm unflustered service that we had experienced previously and some of the little touches were missing - almost a lack of personal service, the staff seemed distracted. In addition, the noise from the adjacent bar, particularly from one group, was incredibly invasive.
A little trouble finding it as streets are not well marked... but once there it was a wonderful experience. We have tried "secret" menues before but this one was the best ever. Many times with a multi-course tasting menu the portion are so small that you leave hungry. Not here. Food was creative and beautifully presented. We highly recommend the wine-pairing option. And leave time for a cocktail... dozens of types of gin... each one paired with special ingredients... and a rose colored/flavored liquor that is unique to this location. We are surprised it has not been awarded a second star already. And quiet enough to hold a nice conversation, something missing in so many restaurants lately. One thing we wish they would include would be a "souvenir" type menu of what had been served.
It was a very special night for us. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic.thank you so much for making our special night so great.
Far from Bohemia
For our 32nd anniversary
dining out seemed precursory
After reading reviews on social media
we booked weeks ahead for Bohemia
My wife arrived in her wheelchair
Maitre de’s nose shot in the air.
When reminded of her food allergies
we were quoted a long list of technicalities.
When boiled fish and broccoli were presented
we felt our special night had ended.
With expectations sorely dashed
we rolled home deeming the evening a car crash.
This was a very special occasion and we were treated like royalty. Even though I had forgotten to mention my dietary requirements, the staff ensured I was catered for and my food was amazing. The homemade gluten free bread was the best bread I have ever eaten. In itself, this was a small miracle as gluten free bread normally has the consistency of cardboard. The wine suggested to complement the venison suited it perfectly and the staff were informative, polite and friendly. We chose 3 courses and the lobster starter, venison main and blackberry and apple desert were all outstanding. All of the flavours worked so well together and I cannot recommend Bohemia highly enough.
We had the prestige menu and it was a very nice experience.
It‘s a fantastic dining experience! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wine recommendation was beyond expectations!
Very good food, Nice entourage, friendly personel.
Our second visit here and the food was even better this time round lots of little extras before and in between our meal you really need a good appetite to dine here
The Pescatarian Option wasn't available on the night we visited, but Thomas enquired with the Chef and they were able to put together 6 seafood dishes for us to try.
Amazing evening, the food and wine were excellent. Lovely friendly atmosphere, chating with other diners about what they had eaten and how many times they had visited. We didn't have room for the cheese and biscuits, so went back the following evening to finish off the meal 😊
Very friendly staff. Helpful and smiley. Recommended the surprise menu . Was amazing . Food was fun and delicious .
Had a wonderful meal, they were happy to swap out one of the starters as neither my husband or I like oysters. Fantastic experience.
Bohemia is a special occasion destination- if you are serious about food prepared with care and imagination, and service and surroundings to match, this cannot be equalled in Jersey and is the equal of most Michelin-started restaurants in London. After 45 years regularly visiting the island it is a joy to find food of this quality at last.
Whilst this was very good felt that the large party in same room was far to noisy and would have been better in a room of their own. It made talking with my partner very difficult which spoilt the evening a bit.
we went to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. the gentleman who initially looked after our table was a little abrupt but I'm not sure if that was a language behaviour however he was very helpful in suggesting drinks and choosing menus. we opted for the 7 course taster menus. the service of the dishes and the dishes were lovely. I felt some of the courses were a little too spaced out. we got to the final courses and were offered coffee. my husband was reluctant but I said yes. the wait was not good given how late in the night it was and my husband tried to cancel our order but unknown to him they were arranging a little birthday surprise. as lovely as that was, I couldn't really understand why that took so long as they had notice of his birthday. around the same time I could see a customer having to retrieve her own coat from the cloakroom and a lady having to ask where her dessert was. over the years we have been to plenty of Michelin starred restaurants but the service at this one was not seamless as I have experienced. overall lovely food but the experience was not as amazing as it could have been.
Would not rate this Michelin star level.
Food was very good, but have had much better at no star restaurants . The ambience was nothing special...
Excellent night out, great food and service.
Will be back!
This restaurant is absolutely outstanding.
The food was simply divine and the staff were so attentive.
We were concerned about the level of noise when we entered the bar, as the restaurant is just off the bar but to be honest you didn't really notice it once seated.
I would highly recommend!
Terrific food that is very unique and with so many different flavours in each individual dish. Prepared and served to perfection. Our Sommelier was so friendly, unlike mane we’ve encountered elsewhere - he will he missed!
It will be our go-to place for all future special occasions.
Fabulous food, beautifully presented with discrete professional service. Courses well spaced to enjoy each course. Strong work ethic very evident and very unique that tasting menu's can be mixed on the same table. Only downside was the rather loud funky music coming from the bar which would detract from an enjoyable evening of quiet conversation. Michelin star is most certainly deserved a special treat.
Bohemia is the most fantastic restaurant i have ever eaten in. My husband and I along with my parents celebrated our wedding in bohemia for lunch after saying our vows. Everything was amazing and the food was the best I have or will ever eat 5/5
Brilliant food, couldn’t fault anything. Lunch menu of exceptional value. Classic menu superb quality . The freshly bread rolls served in the bag, wow.
Only wished I lived in Jersey allowing me to go again sooner.
Great restaurant with excellent food and service-highly impressed
Fantastic food, beautifully put together! Returned after 2 years and was a pleasure to relax and have lunch. Lovely friendly staff, I would recommend to anyone , thanks again , we will be back.
Had lovely dinner for my girlfriend's birthday. Decided to take the prestige menu and it was fabulous. The service was outstanding. Highly recommend if you wish to treat yourself.
Fantastic food and wine in sleek modern surroundings. Tables are slightly too close together so the noise from the next tale carries over. A large party took over the private room creating further disruptive noise. Some of the service was lacklustre, particularly when staff were required for the neighbouring private party room. Would heartily recommend despite this,
Food good, service by restaurant manager (Thomas) poor to terrible.
Restaurant manager needs training, out of his depth, poor service, poor judgement. Shame as killed experience and ruined the hard work of his colleagues.
What a good surprise for this 1 star Michelin restaurant in t Helier (Jersey), the tasing menu is worth it, no need to go fro the full tasting menu (just adding a soup and a dessert).
Would recommend to any food lover.
The music was not so loud, but annoying ... too many bass
Superb food, good service and the wine pairing was excellent. Music from the bar a little intrusive, but perhaps I’m just getting old, looking forward to my next visit.
Weekday Surprise menu highly recommended - great value. Main fish course had a fennel purée with serious depth of flavour! Additional cheese course was good to share and a great experience with the cheese trolley. Professional, attentive staff rounded-off the experience
Having been to Bohemia previously and had one of my favourite meals I was excited to go again on Friday night. They do a number of different menus displayed on their website and we were excited with the choices on offer. When we arrived and were seated we were bombarded with questions about drinks, water, allergies, wine etc in quick succession before we’d even had a chance to look at a menu (drink or food) which was too much& made me very uncomfortable (and I’d also been called in advance 2 days earlier where they’d asked about allergies). We chose the classic dinner menu. It was the best of the choices and it wasn’t as exciting as the website potentials. Neither of us will eat Fois Gras out of principle and don’t like beef tartare so were limited for our starter - 2 choices left and one was a single scallop for a £10 supplement. When I chose the wine I was told it wasn’t what I really wanted (because I only said the first grape in the description and it was a mixed variety) despite the fact that I’d had it before and knew it was the one I wanted. They keep the wine a distance away from you - you can’t see it - in a central wine bucket. Our glasses were empty for a good while before we finally had to call someone to get it refilled. Warm bread rolls were over cooked - lots of hard crumby crust with very little bread inside (which the manager agreed with). Main courses were good. Dessert had 4 choices, one of which was cheese at an £8 supplement and another was popcorn. Overall the whole meal and experience was just okay for a very inflated price. The manager wasn’t that interested in our feedback when he came and asked how our evening was. I wouldn’t rush back.
We booked the tasting menu at Bohemia as a treat for our final evening in Jersey and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was beautifully presented, with unusual flavour combinations all of which worked well. Service was excellent and staff attentive but not overly so. My only slight criticism is the decor is dark and somewhat old fashioned. Other reviews have commented on the noise from the adjoining wine bar. This was noticeable earlier in the evening, but quieter and less busy later so not at all disturbing. I can see this may be more of an issue at the weekend than it was on a weekday evening. Not a cheap evening out, but well worth it.
Food was amazing! Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! Cocktails were outstanding too. Service dwindled a bit and kitchen was a bit slow at times.
Well worth it! Not a cheap date!!
We stayed at The Club hotel and ate in the restaurant. The menu was imaginative and the food a delight both visually and taste-wise. It is an experience you will not forget and your tastebuds will thank you forever. Chef’s extras (at no cost) are dotted between courses and are as delicious as anything you choose from the menu. A gastronomic wonder awaits you at The Bohemia.
Excellent food, just leaves you asking how on earth someone can make food taste so good! I would recommend Bohemia to anyone. Gastronomic incredulousness! :D
Poor service, unorganised staf. Long waiting time.
The food was perfect.
This used to be my favourite place but this time it was underwhelming.
Food not cooked to our liking.
Very disappointed and unfortunately we will never return.
Food was of a good quality and really tasty but the portions were tiny. I expected a minimal amount but the flavour wasn’t of a high enough level to justify the silly portion sizes. Neither of us are bothered about quantity but this amount of food needs to truly have a more memorable taste.
They had run out of sea ads which was on the main taster menu so not impressed with that. The meal, service and wine was of the usual high standard.
