Since joining Bohemia in 2013 Steve has racked up an impressive list of accolades such as being named Catey Chef of the Year, being listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants with special praise given for desserts 6th in the UK for restaurants to enjoy dessert in.
We think that dining in Bohemia is not just eating but a wonderfully exciting way to experience dining at its best. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you when time allows.
Lovely food but no more than a mouthful per course. Left hungry.
Fantastic food served by fantastic people. The chef is a genius
Wonderful food and impeccable service. It’s the second time we’ve visited and we were just as impressed as the first. Every dish was a delight. The staff were attentive without being overbearing. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and a lovely treat.
Great food, great Service, nice ambience. My first Michelin restaurant. My only slight gripe is the starters on offer - voice gras, crab, beef tartar... all 3 are very polarizing in my view and I didn't fancy any. There was no other a bit less bold option. I should have asked if I could have had one of the vege options on an alternative menu, but I didn't think of it at the time. In the end I ordered the beef tartar, tried it and didn't like it so gave it to my fellow guest to finish. It did come with a toast "thing" which was divine and kinda made up for not being able to choose a starter I really looked forward to.
Main - Lamb dish was very very delicious and the chocolate desert was a fine finish...
As always the wine prices are a bit over priced. It kinda detracts from the food. I'd rather pay more for the food where the focus should be and have lower wine prices... but thats just my view
Simply beautiful looking and delicious food, a surprising range of delightful amuse bouches as well as the three courses we chose. Requested wine pairings were exceptional. Staff knowledgeable and pleasant. Plenty of space on the table ad between tables too. Decor a little stuffy but hardly an issue. Would happily return again.
Warm welcome. Friendly staff. Amazing food. Can’t wait to go again.
Wonderful food, such a great restaurant. So pleased we chose to eat at Bohemia, service, food and surroundings were all superb. Also glad we chose the surprise tasting menu, what a seriously great idea. Our visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed. Thank you Bohemia.
I loved the 7-course tasting menu and the paired wines were very well chosen throughout. It was a wonderful fine dining experience and I particularly enjoyed the oyster dish served as part of the menu.
Took our Daughter for her birthday and we had the Tennerfest menu which was superb. Fantastic, attentive service and wonderful food and wine.
Fabulous food and fantastic service. Highly recommend Bohemia.
The service was incredibly slow, and we felt like we were being completely ignored for about ten minutes.
The food was divine though maybe a bit rich for lunch. My own error, not theirs.
Good food. Awful service. We left the bar after being ignored for a prolonged period of time. The wine was poured after the food had arrived repeatedly during the tasting menu.
Our second trip to Bohemia in the past 2 years and this one only improved our opinion of the restaurant. The staff were attentive and looked after us throughout and the service was exactly what you would expect of a Michelin Star restaurant.
Food was fantastic, full of flavour and of course exceptionally presented.
We opted for the wine pairing and although the measures were small (this was stated to us when we chose this) I would highly recommend it as the wine flavours correctly changed as you ate the dish it was paired with and you have the Sommelier explaining the wine on serving and offering to change if it did not suit your taste.
We requested one amendment due to my wife not liking oyster and this was completed with no fuss at all.
Many menu options available for tasting and a la carte dining where nothing seemed to be too much trouble if you wanted to mix dishes.
A wine list beyond the predictable and good value with an endless enthusiasm for interesting and unique pairings.
Efficient and well organised service by well trained staff and management.
Impeccable, delicious, imaginative and original dishes, all well presented and portion sizes that were more than adequate.
This offering could compete and hold ground in any major culinary city in the world.
Really really good food, well worth its Michelin star. We ate off the tennerfest menu- awesome food
Poor. Chilly room. Cold waiting staff lacking charm. Ok food. Overcharged for 4 meals instead of 2. The duck egg starter made me unwell.
The experience at bohemia as a whole was excellent and the food and service was well thought out and charming, however there were two issues that i felt could have improved the evening and made it a truly wonderful experience,
The first being the pace of the starter courses, these were all delicious, prepared and served with great skill and professionalism however they arrived in such quick succession we felt we were on a yo sushi conveyor belt, which is a shame because they were truly magneficent morsels to enjoy and savour,
That being said we did go for the 10 course menu and without that fast pace of the starters i know it can slow down to almost a crawl and you end up boredering on restless, so although a bit fast, all can be forgiven,
The only other issue i have is that when booking this restaurant i wrote in the notes how it was our first wedding anniversary, and not a single mention of it was made at all throughout the meal, i know this is probably a fault on my side expecting something for nothing and all that, however i truly didnt, just a happy anniversary written on a plate with a chocolate when our bill was delivered would have been enough, or even a ‘happy anniversary’ when we were seated, but not a mention,
It by no means spoiled any of the many great things this place has to offer,it was just a blemish on an otherwise great meal,
I would highly reccommend eating at this restaurant, i enjoyed it immensley, i could wax lyrical for paragraphs about the hard hitting flavours of the scallop apple and smoked eel dish which was sublime, the sweet smoky flavours playing delicatelu on your palate whilst the soft give of the scallop and crunch of the apple was a textural delight, and of every other dish on the tasting menu, however it is an adventure best enjoyed at the table, please if you can, then eat here, just not as fast as we did!!
Fantastic food with impeccable service. Highly recommended for a special evening.
Fantastic food and the tennerfest menu was such great value. Loved it the food was just sublime
Such a memorable evening for us both. Thank you so much for being so creative & being excellent Chiefs, we are so lucky to have you in Jersey
unreal food. More clarity on how to get the tennerfest.
Best restaurant in jersey by miles. A real occasion.
Great food and service would definitely recommend and will be returning
Our Waiter Simone was absolutely excellent. His broad knowledge of wine paring and love of food made our experience even the more special.
Beautifully presented food of the highest quality. I recommend the lamb is the al a carte
Really lovely way to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday with family and friends. Thank you
Our 3rd visit to Bohemia and it won't be our last; looking forward to our Jersey holiday next year. The food is the best we've ever eaten anywhere and the service is just right, not overly intrusive, just attentive. Well done everyone that makes it so special.
The food was faultless . The service was poor . Having to poor my own water , ask for wine to be topped up . At Michelin level not acceptable. We weren’t the only table to have this issue Eaten here loads since they opened & know how good it can be .
Fantastic meal lovely relaxed feel right through the meal the staff very attentive but not intrusive they were in no hurry to get us out had the surprise meal added interest to the evening would go again if we come back to Jersey
We spent £445 on a wine that was in poor condition, a wine that got progressively less enjoyable as we drank it. It was the customer's perfect nightmare. A great wine gets more and more amazing as you drink it : this Chateau Palmer 1999, given a 99/100 score by Robert Parker, and which I have drunk on no less than 4 previous occasions, should have been outstanding. It was not. We were obliged to leave two full glasses at the end of our meal. I shall be writing to the executive manager when I have time once back home. The discount of £45 was a gesture by the restaurant, but not a fair recompense for our disappointment and loss.
I had the surprise menu with the sommelier’s matching wines. The 6 courses and amuse bouchée were all extremely enjoyable. Value for money was excellent. If you’re in Jersey I’d definitely recommend going to Bohemia especially to have the mid week surprise menu.
This is the first restaurant we have visited where the chef offers a "Surprise" taster menu, which is "just what it says on the tin". Those with a cynical attitude might think this is a cunning way of using up small quantities of food insufficient to offer on the main menu and it may be so, but perhaps this should be applauded. It does mean that a Surprise menu for one table might be different to that for another. Anyhow, we chose to go with it and were not disappointed, with every dish served beautifully and seasoned to perfection (for my taste). It certainly didn't feel like we were getting "left-overs". Service was faultless and totally non-intrusive, presided over by the excellent Thomas. I prefer to select my own wine, so we did not go for the wine flight, but chose a single bottle from the excellent list.
So far so good (excellent in fact), but now to the reason I did not give 5 stars across the board and that is the music. There is no partition between the restaurant and the bar and despite the fact that the bar was practically empty, there was loud, bass-heavy, relentlessly percussive music playing throughout our entire meal, which spoiled the experience for me. I am not one of those people who prefer to eat in a tomb-like atmosphere, but this was very intrusive and unacceptable. Sorry Bohemia, but quite frankly I am amazed the Michelin inspectors awarded a star here with that sort of racket going on.
Asked for the vegetarian menu for my girlfriend, although she doesn’t like eggs so they offered to change the two courses containing and replace with something else, brought out the two dishes without the egg which was then left mushroom ice cream on the first and a couple of bits of sweet corn on the other course, had we known this I would’ve just eaten the egg off her dish. Extremely expensive for something that there was absolutely zero attempt to cater to us. Disappointed to say the least. Service was decent other than that and food was mostly alright.
A wonderful evening and a delight to finally visit Bohemia. Thank you to all the staff who made the evening even more special . The Fish Menu was delicious and the wine lovely too.
Will certainly be returning...thank you
This was a magnificent culinary experience. Truly fantastic!
When visiting a Michelin star restaurant one has great expectations. At lunch the place was empty. The table decorated with a sad looking plant. We had to explain the dietary restrictions 3 times to the waiter. We got 2 appetizers which were followed by a 6 course surprise menu. The food was good but not up to Michelin standard. I would expect pictures on a plate with food preparations you cannot easily copy at home. The wine pairing was very good. Also the toilets were super clean.
First time at Bohemia for a while - food, service and wine were all great - great wine input from the sommelier - I thought the wine pairing was a bit pricey for what we got but everything was excellent - will be there soon
Certainly worth its Michelin star, excellent dining experience!
We went for a special occasion with our daighter. We had the surprise taster menu and it was fabulous. A lovely long lunch.
Had lunch on our day trip to Jersey. Absolutely wonderful on all counts. If we can come back then next time we will make sure we have an overnight stay so we can have dinner here so good was our experience.
