Whilst the setting is nice we found the service was lacking though it was very busy on a Friday night. With the staff struggling to keep track of orders. The food was okay but lacked flavour. We found it very pricey especially with respect add-ons (one of our side dishes was virtually the same price as a main course) and was then taken aback to be charged a 15% service charge especially given the above.
Our order was taken brought our starter then we were forgotten about as other tables were given their main courses even although our order was taken before these other tables was very disappointed also very overpriced for 1 can of Diet Coke and a small bottle of water £8.95 for both what a disgrace there is no need to overcharge people like this it’s daylight robbery and also just adding a service charge 15% of your bill I was always under the impression that it was down to you weather you gave a tip or not
I was over charged for my food for 2 starters and a drink was charged £50 i was served the wrong food that i ordered amd was still charged fully for it even though i didnt want it and asked for the food i wanted, the female manager then said it will take another hour for the food to come and i wasnt happy with this as i had to be somewhere, wouldnt recommend as the manager has appauling customer service and will over charge you, the rest of the staff seem nice but wouldnt recommend eating from there as the food has no taste and you will be overcharged
The menu is extensive. The food quality was very average. Everyone is very nice and polite however the Service was very slow.
Excellent as always
Good restaurant, lovely area................................
Excellent food. Good service. Nice restaurant. High prices.
Professional staff (some being trained) attentive service, beautiful and delicious food and very relaxing. Pricey but worth every Penny.
We booked on Open Table as we were nearby anyway. Immediately upon entering the restaurant we were struck by how friendly and attentive the staff were. All had smiling faces (behind the masks) and at least 4 or 5 of them came over to chat and check we were getting everything we needed. We also noticed that one of the more senior looking staff was teaching one of the younger staff correct table layout, etc which was very encouraging. The food we ordered was excellent and included a couple of staff suggestions that made the meal even more enjoyable. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and fairly large although it was a little sad that they did not have a huge number of customers on a Friday night however we believe they had been closed for some time secondary to Covid 19 and likely just building back up. All in all we would definitely recommend Bombay Palace and we will certainly be back when we are back in the UK and in London.
Tender meats, interesting spices. Beautifully presented, fragrant curries. Great to be able to sample a variety of Indian street foods in succession. Service was warm and helpful. A cut above the usual Indian restaurant.
The food is seriously appalling for what this place claims to be.. in fact it has gone downhill from the many years I was there. Needs new kitchen staff to progress - openers take notice
Good night as ever and the team charming
We always pay a visit to The Bombay Palace when working in London.
Food is always excellent, service is great, and if you eat before 7 its fairly empty and quiet for most of the meal.
Would definitely recommend.
Way overpriced - £80 for 2 with just mains
Felt compelled to write a review as there is such mixed feedback on this venue. We had a lovely lunch sat out on the patio. This is a high end Indian restaurant and the prices reflect that - but for London I thought it was pretty good value. The food quality was excellent and the service was good. Interesting and unusual menu with some great classics too. Recommended.
Food was good despite the gol gappe being stale. The place was half empty and they sat us in a dark corner directly next to another family when it would have been nice to have some privacy. Service felt rushed, dishes were not explained to us and largely overpriced. No gesture of celebrations despite noting it was birthday. For the money we payed we ex0ected more.
Great food and service. Clean venue and excellent location but we think the de or can be better.
Great night as ever and staff charming.
Really good food, lots of options for both vegetarians and meat, will be going again!
Met up with friends for my birthday. We were all desperate for an Indian - even on a warm day. I chose Bombay Palace on the basis it did black dhal which didn’t disappoint!
We sat outside which was lovely. Food and service were fantastic with enough food left for a takeaway.
Just be aware they do close at 3.30 for Sunday lunch. Suddenly the bill arrived with no pre-warning. Maybe I should have checked but it bought about a pretty swift end to the celebration so we went to the pub!
I would definitely go back. Food was good, service was super awesome 🙂 golgapppe is a must have
The food was delicious and the staff were all super friendly.
Quality food and really attentive service! Prices are a bit on the steep side but probably a place where the food tastes delicious enough to justify. Would recommend.
Great dinner at Bombay Palace. It was comfortable even late in the evening with the heaters and shade. Nice ambience. Authentic food...the starters and entrees were great as were the portion sizes, although a tad disappointed with the dessert (rasmalai too cold, straight out of freezer) and beverages (lassi too sweet, no masala chai). Service was good. So, overall worth a visit.
Our mains were delayed, and when they did get served, the rotis were burnt and the curries were definitely not worth the wait. The service was super slow. Not sure how this place has gotten good reviews to be honest. Will not be going back.
Unfortunately there were no heaters outside and it was very chilly, but what let the evening down was the dismissive staff who didn't explain any dishes when we asked, had poor communication bringing food out without telling us the dishes and at strange times, then trying to rush us out the restaurant. The food was average and over priced. Will not be returning.
This place is excellent. Excellent food and service. I booked this for lunch after my wedding with family and friends, and the service and food was excellent. This place is like a hidden gem in central London.
Very very high quality food & excellent service. We had a great time.
Over all it was amazing and I would definitely come again
Great place, a real jewel tugged in a beautiful location, enjoyed authentic Chole Bhature while sitting n basking in the sun.
Loved it, the staff were great with my children and toned down spice on their food. Been going for years, but not been for a while. So pleased it is still so good!!
I went there on a date night, the ambience was classy and modern, the service was impeccable despite having to be rushed due the 10pm close covid rules.
The starters were amazing, the potions were so large we carried our food home!
I would definitely recommend it.
Service was great but did not enjoy the mains . Naan bread and rice were lovely. What would be veggie sides were listed as mains and overpriced.
The staff were so kind, thoughtful and very aware of Covid requirements. We will go again next week.
Excellent food with nice decor in the restaurant. Very quiet due to Covid-19, but very enjoyable still.
The food portions were big and very well made, which made it great value considering the prices were slightly on the high side.
We will definitely be back and soon.
Great food. Sadly because of Corona, less of a buzz than normal
Excellent dinner! We enjoyed each dish. The flavors were great.
Fantastic food, had our server pick out an array of dishes for our family & every one was delicious!
A regular - best Indian food in London, friendly service, spacious with warm ambiance - in contrast to many Indian restaurants in which tables seem jammed in. Have been visiting Bombay Palace regularly for six years. Go nowhere else for Indian unless necessary.
A regular. Best Indian and ambiance for an Indian restsurant in London.
