Boot and Flogger
Great service, quiet, clean, good wine list. Menu is a bit limited but everything was delicious.
The wine is great, and very reasonably priced. The food was tasty and affordable, although there didn't seem to be enough serving staff around, and we had to get up to ask for things a couple of times after a lengthy wait.
It's a lovely, intimate setting, and an interesting place to look around.
This was the first visit for my wife and I. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food and wine were good value. We would recommend the restaurant to friends - and will return!
Excellent friendly service as always and very good food and wine. A pity it closed early, at 10pm - we did not realise this would be the case so had to drink up rather quickly at the end of our meal.
What a great restaurant , slightly hidden and unassuming from the outside ,once inside it is just fab ,there is a wonderfully comfortable feeling about the place with great friendly and professional staff , the food was delicious and a good wine list , also no music so no need to shout at your fellow diners , you could stay all day and all night , just perfect.
Service was lovely and Sunday roast was really delicious and so were the cakes and desserts.
A bit pricey, but we have been cuddled by the staff and we loved there.
We also celebrate a birthday and they offered us a yummy chocolate brownie!
Excellent, cosy venue. Food was faultless and reasonably priced.
Service was excellent as well. Would thoroughly recommend a meal here.
Good quality food . Bangers and Mash was a delight on a wintry evening .
Great place to catch up with friends
Our recent lunch at the Boot was as enjoyable as ever with delightful staff and the excellent selection of Davy's wines and sherries by the glass. We will return. The olde-world interior is attractive and the little booths make for a quiet environment. The food is perfectly OK but not a foodie experience. The sausages and mash with onion gravy is always a pretty safe bet.
Good place for New Years meal pre Fireworks. the menu was good value, good quality and varied.
A quiet pub with lots of space around tables
How lovely to go to a restaurant with NO MUSIC where you can make conversation without shouting, the food is excellent, the service excellent, the wine excellent and the atmosphere is excellent!
What a great find tucked away ! Service was great very friendly staff and the food was fabulous, my group thanked me for finding the boot and flogger !! We all enjoyed it and would definitely visit again and recommend
This place is a proper gem of a restaurant. I organised a family get together and everyone had a fantastic time and the food was bloody marvellous! My father who is intolerant to dairy was very well looked after, and we enjoyed the wine list as well! Easy to get to as not far from London Bridge and definitely somewhere that I will be returning to, I'm familiar with some of the Davys winebars, and this is a new favourite, we also had a very switched on waitress who was great.
Amazing wine and port selection. The current Bordeaux specials are interesting and were good value. Truffle Mac and Cheese and the duck pate were wonderful.
Overall good value and evening.
Always a really amazing experience at this restaurant - wish I could dine there every day!
Outstanding Sunday roast, fabulous starters and cheese and wine selection. Service exceptional. Highly recommend.
A gem on the outskirts of Boro market! Went on recommendation and not disappointed....great food, excellent wine...great for a couple or with a bunch of friends...lots of different areas to sit along with private dining area.
Great historic pub in London Bridge with very good drinks selection and pub menu. Interesting historical story too for people interested in London
We went for Sunday lunch and had the roast with all the trimmings. The meal was cooked to perfection, good value for money and the portion size was fantastic. We are going back next month!
Visited last year and liked it so much that when we were back in the UK again this year we revisited and again were not disappointed. Whilst not a huge menu, what they have is of good quality, well prepared and tasted wonderful. Would recommend and would book again if in the area.
It was very, very quiet. Food was fine but lacked ambiance.
Service was very efficient but friendly too. Food was fantastic - beautifully cooked, presented well - the vegetables were interesting, different and attractively served. Two ladies wanted to treat a very special friend and we were able to superbly. Thank you very much.
Very good location and very scenic bar. The decor is beautiful although a bit dark.
The food is excellent . The chairs are really comfy.
We had a great time and closed out some good business
Comfy setting, food savory
Excellent spot for lunch. Pleasing time warp. Decent wine list.
Always reliable. A varied menu featuring some well-loved favourites, like the scallops, and a reasonably-priced wine list. The house wines are very good value. Friendly, efficient service.
A wonderful find. Excellent wine list, not surprisingly as the place is part of Davy's Wines, with good food and a few better-than-average vegetarian options. We aren't old coots, but my friend and I loved the absence of music which allowed us to converse without shouting. Excellent service, and nice, adult atmosphere, too. I will go back. Will try the Sunday Roast next time.
We visited last Friday...a quirky and interesting venue; 2 mains and 2 bottles of Doombar..£45....inc service charge...
My only issue is that fellow diners need to adjust their noise levels....otherwise an interesting place to spend a couple of hours.
I booked a table for 8 including a child to have a catch up for my birthday. We were seated in a private room downstairs which was absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for everyone and for young sir to not disturb anyone. The service was attentive with timings of courses spot on. Food was fantastic. A wonderful setting surrounded by history and the entrance to the main cellar (how tempted we were!) A fantastic day where time passed us by due to the wonderful atmosphere and service provided. Cannot recommend enough. Will definitely be back to bring some work colleagues.
The place was very nice and unique but I thought the food was really very bland and boring - shame really cause I was attracted to this place on its food reviews so maybe it might just be me
Cosy spot for a get together over lunch.
Good food and efficient service in very pleasant surroundings.
Would happily return.
Great location, ambience and food!
Four of us went for Sunday lunch. Two of us had the Sunday roast and it was delicious. Two vegetarians had veggie options off the a la carts and enjoyed them.
The atmosphere is quite quirky- dark wooden panelling and small tables, but great for a cosy olde worlde lazy Sunday afternoon lunch...
A great out of the way spot for traditional Sunday lunch. A small but varied menu and a terrific wine list.
Very cosy restaurant with a great wine list. Fantastic ambiance and good food.
A hidden gem. I came here for a business meal and returned with my family. Excellent food and extremely friendly and efficient staff.
Very, very slow service
We had a great private table for a family theatre visit.
We knew the food was good as this was our second visit, but the first time with my vegetarian son, who was also impressed. The service was quick so we got to the new theatre by Tower Bridge in good time.
Great ambiance, good food, excellent wines, attentive service. Small toilet only downside. Good place to meet up.
