Really nice place and beautiful views from the rooftop. Price around 40£ which is ok for that kind food like seafood, oysters, mussels, ... highly recommended.
Amazing one of the best evenings I’ve ever had 😘😘😘
Booked for an anniversary meal with wife. Despite requesting a special table etc. we we put inside next to the kitchen. The outside area was busy, but having requested this I would have expected it to be so. We asked to be moved numerous times but the request fell on deaf ears. We ended up leaving early smelling of a bbq from the kitchen. It was really disappointing and spoilt an otherwise lovely day/evening.
I will say the food was very good.
Great taste of seafood!
Big portion fresh Lobster.
I will definitely come back. The roof top inside was still cold though.
Really disappointing with the Boundry. The view and interior (& garden area) is amazing, really special spot in Shoreditch however, the food was completely overpriced. Ordering the skewers as opting for a light lunch however I did not realise it would be two skewers on some taziki - for £20 a plate that is clearly overpriced. Given that it was a sunday and hardly any people in there the atmosphere was dead mixed with music that was seriously slow and techy making it feel even more slow in there. The staff were also average on the service front.
Overpriced mediocre food with a so-so view made this less than incredible. Outside was more appealing than inside, but it was too cold for eating!
It is not worth the money at all ! Food is not good and noticeably overpriced ! Never again !
I am afraid my experience was not positive. I have been going to Boundary Rooftop now and then for three years and have always had a pleasant experience. This time I wanted to take my friend for dinner. This weekend the reception almost made us leave straight away. I had a reservation but couldn't find it in my emails, and was greeted with arrogance and the attitude that I was not being honest. I was told there "might be a table outside" at 8pm for dinner in the middle of the winter?! When I said I want the table I booked there was no eager to believe me. When I finally found the email there was no apology for me, only "it's the top floor". Very poor and it made us feel very unwelcome.
Well worth a visit. Really lovely rooftop. The decor was stylish and the service pretty good. Not worth the price for the drinks but the atmosphere and aesthetics make it a place you'd visit again.
Best thing here is the roof terrace, views aren’t the best but it’s a nice area with a cool vibe. Food was average, nothing to write home about.
Simply brilliant. Amazing atmosphere, food, drinks and service. Bit expensive but worth the £
The venue had a really nice and relaxed vibe but the food was a too salty for our liking. We had the seafood platter, fries and a salad for two.
Otherwise, the service and ambiance were great.
Would come back again for drinks but probably in the day.
Great atmosphere, and food was excellent
We booked Boundary to celebrate our return to London for a few days this Christmas. It had snowed overnight and made the rooftop very special. The welcome and service was first class , and our Plateau des Fruits de Mer was excellent.
Lovely location, nice food and good service.
Prices are ridiculous though - £25 for two mulled wines!!
Th pictures didn't do this location any justice.
An absolutely lovely find perfect location to celebrate my bf birthday.
We chose to sit outside, the staff could no have been more accommodating
Worst place for food and service
I booked for 3 at Boundary Rooftop.
When we arrived they propose me a table of 2 with a third seat, while the restaurant was almost empty. I firmly refused. And they "accepted" to give us a 4 seats table, of course much more comfortable. Check the point before, if you are 3.
Food was really good.
Rooftop veranda is relatively cold in automn (in my case acceptable). Waiters are wearing pole jacket.
When we entered the restaurant we had many ‘wow’ moments as we didn’t know what to expect and were thrilled to be outside and up high. Very nicely set out and the menu offers some typical apres skiers favourites. Great menu, food and attentive service.
The food was exceptional, the service was friendly and attentive. They knew it was my girlfriend's birthday and provided some nice extra touches to make the evening special. The cocktails were beautiful, too. The view is great and i'd recommend even just going for a drink. Will be back!
Place had an overpowering small of cheese. Ski lodge feel. Might have been fun on roof with large group but not as romantic dinner.
Worst Fondue I’ve ever had! Service was quite slow and to be honest the ambiance not that inspiring either!
Great spot but the place was completely empty on Wednesday lunch so somewhat lacking in atmosphere.
We had the skewers - halloumi was great, prawns were overpriced with not much flavour.
Very friendly and attentive staff though.
unsufficient choice on menu.
not a very good food-quality for value-regular food high price.
disappointing roof view . nice decoration and fourniture. cool ambience. liked the fireplace outside. too long service 1h before main dish ! (a table arrived 30mn after us was served before us)
The Rooftop outdoors is not accessible during the winter months but it is really unfortunate that no thought or care has been put into what to do about it. It felt like walking through a storage area/garage as you enter the restaurant which gives a poor first impression. Food was ok but I wouldn't return; there are plenty better options.
We frequent this restaurant and love it every time!
Very poor. Poor food and a low service
Nice atmosphere and good food. Would definitely be amazing in the summer or when the weather is good.
A group of four us had lunch here on a Saturday. It was (just) warm enough to sit on the terrace, which is the main attraction of this place (roof-top bars in London are typically members-only spaces). The service was OK - of the two waiters who served us, one was competent and courteous, the other seemed a little pre-occupied. The food was good - the restaurant majors in skewers (ranging from £12-26) cooked on a robata grill. Everyone's meal was well-cooked and the ingredients seemed good quality, although that's to be expected for the price. Sides are extra (a measly portion of fries is +£5). If you want fizz, be prepared to pay north of £75 - there's no prosecco or equivalent here, which feels a bit mean. Equally, the wine list was solid but there's nothing sub-£30 which, combined with the punchy food prices, means this is a special occasion-only kinda place. They've nailed the ambiance - pitch-perfect music, cosy blankets and comfy seating. I did, however, notice a few bits of furniture which were starting to look a bit shabby, and there were cigarette butts left in one of the fireplaces which was a turn-off. Overall though, we had a really enjoyable experience. If it sounds like I'm nit-picking, I am; a £300 lunch bill was a little hard to swallow when there were some obvious areas for improvement.
I had a really good time at The Boundary. The fire places were an awesome touch and it was very intimate. I liked the fact that the staff didn't rush you to eat/leave or pressure you on ordering more. They were a bit switched off in terms of coming to take our order but they may have just been short staffed as they seemed quite busy.
Overall, completely enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone. I eat meat, bae eats vegetables but we both enjoyed our meals!
IF YOURE GOING TO KEEP THE WINE AWAY FROM THE TABLE YOUR WAITERS NEED TO BE ABLE TO SPOT EMPTY GLASSES. IT WASNT' EVEN BUSY (SAT NIGH). TOOK AGES TO CLEAR DIRTY PLATES. WHICH DIDNT HELP THE FACT THE SQUID STATER AND THE BONE MARROW STARTER MADE US FEEL QUEASY. NOT NICE.
I HAD THE STEAK MAIN. CHUCKING A STARTER PORTION OF GARLIC SNAILS ON A MAIN DOESNT REALLY MAKE IT BETTER... UNINSPIRING. MY PARTNERS DUCK WAS VERY CHEWY. AND TOO SWEET.
THE DECOR IS SO DATED. WHAT ARE THOSE MAPS WITH LIGHTS IN ON THE CEILING? FEELS LIKE A CRUISE SHIP. GLASS BRICKS. ETC.
ID BE SURPRISED IF THIS PLACE STAYS OPEN A YEAR.
I expected quality food, as it is the same restaurant as the basement restaurant. However, despite discounting the fact that it is principally a barbecue restaurant, the food quality was mediocre, and the steak was not what the normal ribeye should taste like. It was also confusing to put it as a plate to share when it was not really do a share both from the size of the portion or the way it was served, as i would expect it to be served at least sliced.
Service was not bad and if you are interested in the outdoor drinks with cold cuts of meat with close friends or partners, it would be a good spot, but I think I was expecting too much for hoping for more.
Fanatic evening, great seats friendly and fast staff
No annoying being asked
If we are ok every five minutes
Nice rooftop bar for a drink but restaurant food was quite poor; over cooked lobster, generally a rather odd menu
Lively bar with fantastic views and charming service. Tables decently spaced in an impressive dining room. Grill-focussed menu and a decent wine list. Food very well presented and cuisine high quality if not on this occasion flawless.
Very good for entertaining visitors but probably not (and not intended to be) an everyday dining experience.
Average. Food overpriced and not as expected
We went there for the half price seafood on Sunday evening. The plater we wanted was not available because they were running low on seafood and we got to select the most expensive one, which was arranged with more oysters as the rest of the seafood was not available anymore.
I am a bit upset by the size of the lobster; really small. At half price this is fine, but I won't expect to pay full price for it. The prawns were overcooked unfortunately. Oysters were good, but this is not my favourite food.
Desserts were really good and it saved the meal. The strawberries and pistachio tart was delicious and the crème brulée was really good as well.
Why was this place so dead on a Friday night in Shoreditch? We had a table booked for 9pm, but the kitchen closed at 10pm so we had to order our desserts with our main meals. They had run out of one of the dishes my friend wanted. The food was just about acceptable, but nothing special; no atmosphere at all. Really disappointing!
I generally like The Boundary. I visited again on Friday and was somewhat disappointed. I booked a table on the roof with a view to having drinks on the terrace afterwards. The food was disappointingly sparse - I asked for an order of bread to supplement this and I was told they had run out of bread. Which is surprising as there is another restaurant downstairs, and a bakery next door. Our drinks arrived quickly and were fine. We felt hustled out as the outside terrace was full and the bill arrived quickly, over three hundred pounds for three people who left hungry. Not sure I'll visit again in a hurry.
Nice spot away from the busy crowd, good service. Seats did get very hot under the sun and a little uncomfortable to sit on
