Bow Wine Vaults - Brasserie
As always food and service was excellent. Obviously limited choice on the menu due to Covid and no other diners in the restaurant for the same reason.
Will continue to be our favourite wine bar in the square mile.
Nice to be back! Great food, great value, great service!
nice friendly staff. good portion size. amazing dessert
Great table in the Brasserie, liver and bacon very tasty plus a delightful bottle of Lynn Grove from South Africa ..
Happy Days 😀
Met an old friend here for a quick lunch catch up. We both had the grilled skate and it was done really well, buttery and flavourful. The white wine selection is good too. Since it is a pub, you can expect some chatter from your surroundings but nothing too loud that you can't hear your own voice. Service was excellent.
Always fantastic service - always fantastic food... The mushroom ravioli is amazing
Food was very good as was the service although we were overcharged for wine - we had two two glasses but were charged for four. I will definitely use the restaurant again.
I hadn’t been to the Restaurant for many years. The restaurant downstairs has been imaginatively decorated to provide a light airy environment. There weren’t many customers so atmosphere downbeat. The staff were a little too laid back for my liking but we weren’t in a rush so no harm done. The food was excellent and wine list good.
The upstairs bar looked tired in comparison but brightened by the enthusiasm and geniality of the staff. Drinks prices reasonable. All in all a good dining experience but restaurant staff need to be more attentive and aware.
Simple, Easy Afternoon .. arrived 1.00 departed 5.30 .. all ingredients present ..
The overall experience was very good, we have visited a few times and the food is consistently excellent.
Delicious food and excellent service at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Simple fare, well made. Service very good.
Love this place. Small independent wine bar that serves great food and an excellent choice of wines. Old school but the best.
Good food, reasonable prices
Great feel, buzzy and welcoming. Nice food. Nice little restaurant
Great menu with something to meet all tastes. Caught the last of the summer sun and was able to sit outside for lunch, which provides a nice setting beside the old church. The sea bass was lovely. We did not have a huge amount of time but having enjoyed the main course, found the time to squeeze in the Cheesecake - well worth it.
Underrated restaurant IMO. Only criticism was the huge glass of wine I was served. Only one size on the menu which was priced as a small. When the bill came I was charged for a large which I never asked for, nor was offered. This place can do better and stop serving buckets of wine as standard. It’s unnecessary
Always a good place to bring friends. Attentive service.
Great food, good service, lovely outdoor lunch in a warm sunny day.
We asked to sit in the basement restaurant and on a hot sticky day it was pleasantly cool. It was quiet, but as its quite small even with just 4 of us there to start with, the restaurant still had a good ambience. Food was excellent and I felt very reasonably priced. Portions were generous but not so much that you couldn't eat it all. My husband was opening some birthday presents and the waitress noticed this and asked, when he was away from the table, if we would like a dessert with a candle. We said yes and later the waitress brought in lemon tart, our choice with a candle and Happy Birthday written in syrup on the plate! Excellent service by our waitress.
The house white wine at £18.50 was very pleasant and good value. An excellent meal in very nice surroundings. We would happily go back again.
Very good dining options service and food excellent six of us dining and no complaints from anyone. Good value for money considering location. Menu options more than adequate and wine list comprehensive and reasonably priced.
Great location just behind Bow Church. Very nice staff and service was excellent. A bit squashed in my seat but managed. Due to my first choice having run out I went for the cod, which was a mistake for me as I prefer stronger flavours, however, nicely presented. We stayed until 4pm so thumbs up for not moving us on!
Tucked away in Bow Lane you will find this traditional restaurant that offers good service and a wide choice on the menu. Guests enjoyed themselves and will be going back next year
Very busy lunchtime. Our service was sloooow. Food better on last visit. Great ambience.
Lunch time service, rude waiter outside. Took 10 minutes to see the menu for a waiter to take our order. Waited over 30 minutes for the mains to be served. We had to rush to eat our meal in 10mins.
nice menu, nicely prepared bistro food, fun City setting in a cozy alley and great server made for a nice lunch with my wife near St. Paul's. we'll be back.
Great attentive service, well priced very good food - nice menu that wasn't 6 pages long, and a very reasonable but good wine list that didn't make you gasp!
A great Chicken Caesar Salad was spoiled by a) being so large it could not have been finished by three people and b) was awash with far too much dressing. Both issues so easy to get right too - a real shame.
Maybe somewhere on the menu it said I'd be charged for my bread roll and butter, but I'm just not used to paying for what should be (and is almost everywhere in Europe) complimentary.
Then there was the discretionary service charge, which wasn't really warranted thanks to an unsmiling smug waitress who seemed amused that the guy I was supposed to meet there for lunch did not show up - he'd suffered a family bereavement, as it turned out.
Good for wine by the bottle with the city slickers, great location and a nice ambience too, but let down by distain for the food and the customer...
Always a pleasure to visit. Will definitely be booking again soon!
Good venue with a TV for the cricket.
Service was pretty good.
They certainly pushed the extra bottle of wine.
Had a superb lunch here with a friend, managed to get a table outside so we could watch the world go by and enjoy the pleasant weather.
Food was delicious and portions generous. It was busy but the staff were quick and courteous.
We would definitely recommend and will return.
Great value location for lunch in the City. Friendly service and hearty food.
I am a regular here and would recommend it for a good business lunch. Service is efficient, quick & friendly. Wines obviously very good. The Crab Omlette is perfection!
I had lunch with a colleague and found the Bow Wine Vaults to be a pleasant venue. The service was good, the food fine and nothing in the restaurant which impeded our discussions. An easy choice for similar meetings in the future.
Met here with a client, perfect venue for a relaxed casual lunch with good food and good service offered great value to money.
Food was very good, and the service was excellent. The only downside is despite reserving, we still only got a table inside....everyone else bar one other table was outside.
Bow Wine Vaults has been a decent venue for years. The menu is unpretentious but varied with a comprehensive wine list. It is probably best in summer when it is possible to dine al fresco.
Just what was required. Efficient friendly service and good food too.
very good for a quick business lunch, as its pretty standard fare and nobody should have a problem with the food on offer. wouldn't go there privately as it's nothing special, really. service is very nice, though
Decent quality of meat for my steak and my two diners had pretty decent meals. Not mind blowing but good enough to take a client and feel comfortable.
