I understand that it's currently during a pandemic, but the Patio Seating was less than desired. We were being bitten by flies/mosquitos. A Citronella candle would have done the trick.
The food was unparalleled in taste and presentation!
Waste of money since we did not go to rooftop boxwood, rather placed on side of building. Was given ketchup, that looked old and tasted gross. Waiter clearly saw others in my party did not like food and expressed it was ok, however no interest in fixing or making it better. On top of it all, I was forced to pay for valet even after validation. Total waste of money!
That was a great food for Dine LA. I loved their lobester burger was really tasty and chips was phenomena their mussel was my favorite but unfortunately I did not like the fries and pasta the fries was cold and pasta did not have much of a taste. Overall I’ll be back for sure I hope they let us seat by the pool
We decided to try Boxwood during restaurant week.
They are trying hard to make dining.a great experience during Covid but it’s difficult. The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The area for dining was sparse and a little noisy. Still I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I give them a lot of credit in these difficult times.
I celebrated my birthday and had a very enjoyable evening!
Amazing dinela options! And great food presentations
Lunch date with my fiancé. Parking for the restaurant was very reasonable for hotel valet. Only $6. Really reasonable for WeHo. We both did the Restaurant Week Pre Fixe lunches. He had lobster burger entree which he thoroughly enjoyed. Nice presentation and good portion. I had the hangar steak. The presentation kind of threw me off because the smeared bloody meat juices on the plate was part of the presentation. Truthfully, it made me lose my appetite though the steak was good and the onions were really delicious. The tables were small and bare. The hotel has sleek minimal theme which I like, but a few jars with some mint and lavender leaves might have helped the ambiance and kept the annoying flies away. The hotel and staff were very welcoming. Hidden WeHo gem.
Very quiet due to the pandemic. Food was excellent. I would definitely like to go back when the place is buzzin.
We ordered From DineLA Menu.
3 of us had all different appetizers, and all were so Top notch delicious.
2 of us including myself had lobster roll, and one ordered the steak.
We couldn’t believe how good the lobster and steak tasted.
2 different desserts, all delicious. We were so full and pleased.
Because of the outdoor Covid situation, dining tables were placed in front of the hotel terrace. So wait staffs had to walk Such a long ways to bring foods to us, yet you couldn’t ever tell. The service was amazing!
It was an incredible DineLA deal!
I thought boxwood was still having their rooftop dining experience. I was underwhelmed with their makeshift outdoor situation next to the valet drop off. Not worth the money.
Thank you for your review KatherineR. Unfortunately due to COVID 19 and strict guidelines by LA county we have had to move all dining outdoors at this time. We understand this is not ideal. Our rooftop has been closed for dining for the last two years and only open to hotel guests. Please let us know where you saw the rooftop was still open so we can correct it. Thank you and apologize this was not an ideal setting for you.
What a gem! And best kept secret. Good was very outstanding!
Love the breakfast options here with friends or for business meals.
The cheeseburger I ordered was delicious. But for $18 it was pretty small. I was still a bit hungry.
Great place! greeted by a smiling young girl who sat us next to the window for our 10 year anniversary . Loved every minute. Thank you.
The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and were fast enough to get food out. The food is quite expensive btw.
The tea service as nice. They were things missing here and there but our waiter was very nice. The scones were fresh as were the desserts however the tea sandwiches felt like they had been sitting around for a bit as their bread had hardened. Otherwise overall not bad.
The only thing I I thought it was a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. That was on my bucket list.
Friday night at 8.30pm and it was absolutely deserted - only 1 other table in the whole restaurant.
Not great ambiance but the food was good and the server was attentive and helpful with my dietary restrictions.
The buffet is EXTRAORDINARY and a steal at $22! Also, they have a $20 hard car wash that is the best in LA!!! My only con about this place is if you washed your car they would waive the valet fee - They charged me this time which I think is nuts but it was still worth it. Go - its YUMMY!
It was Empty we were only ones there and it was overpriced for the quality of food you receive
Expected more variety of food with elegant options do was a let down for us unfortunately
We had high tea and the magical tea and it was lovely! The location and restaurant are pretty and well laid out.
Excellent service from Kevin and Iain--attentive yet unobtrusive. Beautiful, quiet, sunlit space. Perfect for a work meeting. Highly recommended.
Always a great experience for meetings and relaxing.
we went for restaurant week and food was so so. The hotel has nice sitting areas but the restaurant is sterile. Service was excellent however, for $49/person, we could have had a much better meal elsewhere.
Went in for dine in la and the hotel itself is super elegant very clean, the staff is welcoming. The food overall was 3 stars took forever to get served and they only had one waitress for the whole restaurant, wish they would’ve let us know about the roof top bar/restaurant, feel like giving it a second shot for brunch and tea on a Sunday on the roof top. I did enjoy the dessert the baklava French toast very tasty.
My bff and I went there for a girl’s day out. We took advantage of the DineLA lunch menu. The appetizers were delicious especially the risotto, but the entrees were so so. Mango cheesecake was good. Service at the restaurant and at the valet was excellent. It was my girlfriend’s first time there and she was impressed. Overall, we had a good time there.
Our last visit to Boxwood over a year ago was not good (food & service sub-par). So when they appeared after a hiatus on DineLA, and they had a good menu, we decided to go. We were pleasantly surprised by and very much enjoyed the offerings. Everything was great - fish tacos, salad and risotto (I have always loved their risotto) and of course the fish & chips. Even the baby liked his share. The server Dennis and hostess were friendly and helpful (all the people were, really). Now we're excited to come back.
Very nice experience and I got my car detailed inexpensively while I dined! Perfection!
I was really disappointed. Service was so slow by the time we got our food, 30 minutes after ordering, it was cold. I had coffee but wasn’t offered milk/cream. When my cold English Breakfast was served, there was no butter. That took another 5 minutes. The servers seem to have no interest in us at all.
We had lunch there and it was so lovely. High quality and excellent food presentation. Our server, Cody, was very attentive and personable. He even remembered us the next morning and talked with us! Great dining experience
it was delicious but it wasnt as amazing as i was told
Great food with great service in the secluded The London West Hollywood hotel.
We came to the Boxwood excited for our first Chef Ramsey restaurant experience. We know Chef Ramsey doesn’t actively run this restaurant and unfortunately so would anyone who walks through the bar area. The seats were stained, our plates were dirty, the place was absolutely dead and the beef Wellington, was, well, a bit doughy on the inside. We’ll be a bit more careful in the future picking a restaurant purely because of his name.
We had the Valentine's Day Prix Fixe with cocktails and wine. We received outstanding service and excellent food and drink. The dining space is beautiful, and even the value was excellent.
Always special. Attention to detail and a great atmosphere. My wife and I have spent many special times there. Food is excellent. Thank you Chef Anthony!
The service could have been a little more attentive. I had to keep hailing someone to order our meal or more dressing or to get the check. Do we have to ask for water as well when we give our drinks order? Bread doesn't automatically come to the table? Next time does bread have to be specifically ordered as well? I like the view and it was quiet. It was an excellent venue for a lunch meeting.
Classy and elegant place, open floor plan with good food and attentive service
We had a little snafu with our initial reservation, but Deborah at Boxwood sorted the problem out immediately and with zero fuss. We enjoyed a beautiful, delicious afternoon tea with really terrific, friendly and efficient service. AND all in a beautiful and quiet room!
Totally underwhelming. Food was mediocre at best and there was no one else in the restaurant so no excuse for bad service.
